When the alarm goes off...

do you immediately jump out of bed? Or are you the type of person who would turn off your alarm clock and just stay in bed for a while? Or, are you the type of person who would turn the alarm clock off and try to catch some more sleep and tell yourself, 5 minutes more...then 10 minutes more... or something like that? There are times when I really just like being in bed even if I know that I have to go to work. I rarely jump out of bed once the alarm goes off. When I was younger, mom would always get angry because I do not get out of my room even if the alarm went off several minutes earlier.

I always get right up as soon as the alarm goes off. Sometimes I wake up before it goes off. Alot of times I do not even have to use it because my mental alarm will wake me up for the time I need to be up.

Mornings are just not part of my life if I can help it. The problem is, I can't. I have to get up between 3:30 and 4:00 every morning to get to work on time. Then I have to get up or else, so... I have four alarms set, and each has at least one snooze cycle. One's totally across the room, so I have to get up for it. Another is in the bathroom, so I have to realize there's just no more sleep time. Then, unless I'm able to pick up a Saturday job,I often crash all day Saturday. I've gotten up that early ever since I can remember, and I always thought I'd get used to it some day, but I haven't gotten used to it at all. I absolutely hate getting up! I make both coffee and espresso in coffee makers with timers, so they're ready for me when I finally get downstairs. That helps a little, but only a little. My husband's one of those nasty people who hits the floor running, before the alarm even rings! How dare he. As long as he doesn't wake me up, we're OK, and I won't interrupt his naps in the afternoons!

That's a good strategy. I have done that in the past too. Like I placed another alarm clock on my computer table and this would require me to really get up to turn it off so I wouldn't have to go back to bed.

Unfortunately, I've gotten up and turned them off without getting all the way to awake, then I'm back in bed and I don't even remember waking up. I'm glad I've never missed getting to work on time because of it.

I really hate it when the alarm goes off, especially when I get up much earlier than I should then struggle getting back to sleep and just as when I am drifting to sleep, it's time to wake Often happens when I've got to be at work early and I am thinking it's the beginning of a long day! aaargh.. I have had one or two of those accidents when I turn the alarm off and think 5 minutes more and woke an hour later to find I was extremely late so I do not do that anymore and jump out of bed at the first opportunity!

When I had to go to work, I'd get out of bed as soon as the alarm went off, as I did not allow myself time to snooze and get to work on time. Now that I'm retired, I usually will wake up about the same time I did when working but frequently will let myself go back to sleep for a half hour or even a full hour.

I have my alarm set to go off everyday. It plays "Crazy" by Alanis Morissette. When it is a class day, I get up as quickly as possible, but when it is a non-class day, I get up whenever I want to get up.

I always set my alarm clock for way earlier than I need to get up so that I can read my emails and take my time getting ready, but inevitably I keep hitting the snooze button and wait until the last minute to get up and then I'm mad at myself for doing it. I can never win. LOL.

I will jump out of bed immediately when i have to go to work or some meetings. I don't want to be late for work. However in weekends/hoilday, i usually just turn off the alarm and lay down for 5-30 minutes, until i get enough sleep.

I think we both share a common problem. It is really difficult to get out of bed as soon the alarm starts. I let it snooze atleast three times. Then the clock shows me the tme which makes me jump out of the bed. So I rush to get ready and be on time. So now I have started to keep the margin time for snooze and then accordingly put the alarm.

What I do after the alarm goes off depends on what I did before I slept. Normally, I would immediately rise up and be wide awake. But for the last week I had been ignoring my alarm because I always had dance practices and they really took all of my energy away. But I have tried to turn off the alarm and sleep again with a promise to wake up 5 - 10 minutes after and so on until some of the family members forcefully wake me up. Haha.

Hi there friend! this is a funny experience for me, I used to set an alarm clock, so I can get up early, but let's face it..we don't automatically get up in the morning when the alarm goes off.. so, I decided to stop using alarm clock and let my husband wake me up every morning, sometimes my daughter will do the honor of waking me up as well.. :0)

Hi dolce_vita! When the alarm goes off, I usually get up and sometimes, I hurriedly get up as if the alarm is chasing me. haha.. Anyway, I really don't use an alarm clock because I have my body clock which automatically wakes me regularly each morning on the dot. It is my husband who loves to use an alarm clock but never gets up even if the alarm goes off so loud. I really don't know why he has to turn it on each day when he does not even get up. Sigh! Take care always..God Bless!

I will snooze my mobile phone alarm Every Morning. I can never get up Immediately! I enjoy lying on the bed for at least another ten minutes before getting up. This explains why I usually set my alarm earlier. However, having said that, sometimes, I still do oversleep.

I need no alarm clock to wake me up in the morning.I am so accustomed to the time schedule that automatically the bell inside my mind rings at the right time and I get up from bed.and soon after I leave my bed and go to toilet and finish routine works before other members get up from bed.thanx.

Only a nice hot cup of tea can get me out of bed. So my daughter makes my tea and brings it to my bed or else I just continue sleeping.
