This picture is of one ear of the few I picked Sunday. I picked a total of 5 ears that were ripe. They are not the best looking as far as kernel shape etc, but man were they ever sweet, moist, and delicious. Had a huge veggie dinner with this. dad loved it. Seems the critters have great taste as they have been eating my corn. I know why now. next year I am oplanting maybe 50 corn plants. How much corn do you plant each year? Or how much would you if you could? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We have only gotten 1 big enough to pick yet. I cooked it up about an hour ago and the kids were fighting over it. I was really good. I snuck a bite or two. We have 6 rows of about 12 growing. Half are yellow corn and half are white corn. The yellow gets ready first, so we will still have fresh corn after the yellow is gone.

Awesome! You have done really well with your garden this year. I can't wait until we are fully moved into the new house and have room for a garden! Hubby is planning on buying a tractor and I will insist on a tiller attachment:) Enjoy your corn! There is nothing better than fresh veggies from your very own garden!

Everything but one apple tree did well this year. A lot was slow to ripen due to a cold and snowy start in May here. But all in all I am very pleased this year. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I love sweet corn. We really don't have enough room to plant any corn but I would if I could. I love eating stuff out of the garden that is home grown. And I love buying stuff from the farmer's market too.

Doesn't actually take a lot of room for corn as they get planted close to each other. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Gosh reading all your discussions about your garden, sure makes me hungry everytime. I've never grown corn myself, my grandpa used to. I like the sweet corn, put some butter and salt and pepper on it and eat it...mmm mmm. If we grew it, we could probably plant 100 plants easily, we've got alot of room here.

I do not have enough room to plant corn. I do not have enough sun in most parts of my garden. I can buy really fresh sweet corn at the Farmers' Market. In my yard the raccoons and possums would have it all eaten straight away.

I'm going to have a few corn plants but with just me and occasionally my mom, I couldn't possible make use of more than a few corn stalks! Do you know any way to preserve corn besides canning? I'm scared of pressure cookers so canning is out.

Well corn actually needs a lot of plants usually to pollinate. They pollinate by being close to each other. I do not know for sure if just a few would prosper. We just clean the ears and freeze them raw and whole or cut in half is all I know. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~
