I was thinking of a discussion someone special started a couple of days ago about His Mosquito friend..lol..and got to thinking of all the Bats that are all over my town i live in...and read about how they keep the mosquito population down...this could be a reason why mosquito's don't bite me??...I found a little one hanging right by my awning all by himself at my store this morning, and wonder if i should send him onto this friend..lol..I know i'm not a Vampire but Wonder if anyone else is mosquito free like me? So Do mosquito's leave you alone too? Do you use Bat Guano in your yard?

Hi Rosekitty, Bats are lovely creatures and evne more so for eating the mosquitos. I have never been bitten nor has my middle daughter but my eldest and my son seem to attract them, they must have tastier skin. I wonder why some get bitten though and others don't, perhaps cos I eat garlic LOL. Ellie :D

Hi Rosekitty on the subject of garlic, they do capsules of garlic for dogs and cats to take rather than frontline as fleas don't like it either so it could be the garlic that puts them off. Outfit for Sunday, a choice of two, if weather okay a skirt, vest top with bolero overwhich does in fact look great with wedge shoes and ofcourse matching bag. Skirts has blue, greeen and beiges in it and top will be blue with a beiger bolero. If not too great will wear black trousers and a long blouse with beige tones in it with black shoes and handbag. Sjirt a bit dressy so probably go for the trousers and smart top. Ellie :D

Send a bat or two over here Rosie. Mosquitos love me. I see them heading my way with their starched napkins and cutlery at the ready. I am quite sure that I have "Chateaubriand" stamped on me somewhere!! LOL. My Dad used to have a woman working for him who was one of the World's leading experts on fruit bats. She kept a colony in the roof of their building. As a boy I used to go up there and watch them. As it was daylight they tended to not do too much. But they'd take the odd piece of fruit if offered. Odd boy aren't I?

I am a very keen fly fisherman. Trust me we have mosquitos. Not the malarial type, but nasty little bitey ones. Where does you friend live? I can't think of an arid part of the UK, but you never know. LOL.

Hiya P1ke..sounds like you need a protective Armor on you at all times..lol...and all i can think about is that Jim Carrey movie where he had to get that white bat..lol..that was funny... Now your fruit bats as a child would be pleased to know you never harmed them..Right? and you aren't Odd now or then!

The bats are wonderful little furry creatures. I have read that some eat 400 times their weight in insects in a 24 hour period! And Sweets I can live without all that buzzzzzzzzz xoxoxoxoxo

It all depends on the day. I can be outside at night with a small group of people who are getting eaten alive and, I don't end up with one single bite. On another day, I can be out with the same group of people and, I am one, if not the only person getting bitten. So, I don't know what makes them want me one day and not want me the next but, that has been my experience. I think it might depend on your personal odor for the day. Or, something you ate that they can smell in your bloodstream that they don't like. I haven't figured out the difference between a biteable day and a day when I am repugnant! But, if I ever figure it out, I will make millions! LOL! I do not use bat guano. But, there are plenty of bats in my area as I have seen them flitting around at night and, one of my neighbors had a problem where they made their way into her attic and started a nasty little mess up there. Fortunately, she and her hubby caught it in time to get rid of them before they made a huge mess. Bats living in your belfry is a really bad thing. LOL!

We do not have a lot of bats here where I live. We do however, have a lot of mosquitos. If you hang out at night around here with out spray on you will get eaten up. I have never really seen a bat other than at the zoo. If I saw one on my house it would probably scare me. LOL

I'm a sqitto magnet. It doesn't matter what I put on or spray around thy flock to me. My grandpa always said they are atracted to potassium levels, so he would never eat bananas or anything made with them when he knew he would be spending time outside. But really, unless I got some potassium factory runnin in there somewhere I don't know about...this shouldn't be the case for me, cuz I really don't eat a lot fo it. We have a lot of bats around here, but the sqittos are horrible. We thought of putting up some habitats in our back yard to try to fight of the pesky buggers, but my fiance is afraid of one thing in this life...and that's bats...so its gonna take a little more to warm him up to the idea.

Wow, too weird, Rosekitty. I was just telling p1key my bat story in his helicopter discussion! And bats DO eat mosquitos, ya know. Quite a little bat treat, I understand. They can have all of mine! I am definitely NOT mosquito free, not even close. As we speak, I'm itching in several places from my ankles to my shoulders from mosquito bites. They love me!! I have no idea what it is about me that they like, but it must be something, because they look at me like sunday dinner at grandma's. Now, I don't mind being bitten, but preferrably not by mosquitos!!!! A myklj bite would be acceptable, dontcha think? Yeah!!!!!

I've not been bothered by mosquitos even though my yard is active with them at morning and at night. I attribute that to living in Arizona all those years and having my blood ruined by the boiling heat. Please leave the bat alone. It's true, they eat pounds of bugs per night! Pretty good for sightless creatures, huh? Careful, though, bats get rabid and if your local health people say there's an outbreak, report every bat you see.

I have bats that fly around the barn at dusk every night. I don't know where they roost, but sure there are lots of places out in the barns for them to safely sleep during the day. I had one, once that got trapped in my barn and it was a bit of a nuisance for around a week until he found his way out. If I was out doing chores at dusk, he would fly around in this one pen pretty steadily, but never bothered me really. Just had to duck around a bit while I was working in that pen, which wasn't long, so not a problem. I know they eat bugs, so they are my friend. Although, don't catch one, they aren't quite so friendly then. My friend once called me over to get a bat out of her house. I put on a glove and caught him and released him outside. He wasn't very happy about it and showed me his nasty little sharp teeth and squawked quite a bit about it.

Mosquitos adore me! They don't bother my husband at all. I think it's because of all the chemicals on the clothes and his body from working on cars. I have tried everything except the chemicals to keep them off of me. Deet products burn my skin. I'm allergic to petrochemicals. Natural repellants don't keep them away from me either. If there is mosquito around it's headed my way. And I really don't think I want bat guano in my office inside this steel building. In this heat, ugh.
