In case of most of the discussion I have seen the owner of the thread awarding Best response from the first page of the response only. may be there are many better responses in other page. may be while resolving, we do not have patience to go to other pages. what are your views?
Do you choose from first page only?

When I do give BR, I usually give it to the First post which 'blow me away'. I usually give BR to those replies which I have never thought of and which give good insights to the topic I started. It may be found on the first page and it may also be found on the last page. Since I go through ALL my replies and reply to them, I see no problem with that.

No. When it's time for me to give out the best response, I always read all of the responses so i could weigh which one deserves it the most..Whether the responses adds up to a hundred, i go back and read them. I think it's only proper, because they are getting paid for having the best response and i don't want the pencil to land on somebody who doesn't deserve it the most..Sure, it takes time, but then, there are people out there who really deserves it...

I have no problems in awarding best responses.. because when i read the comments received for my discussions.. certainly some comments will impress me at the first sight..but i put them in the hold.. and wait for some more time.. probably once in two weeks i resolve the topics.. and naturally when i come to the topic for resolving.. i could compare the best that i keep in hold till this time.. with the responses received after wards.. and award them.
Have a good day Subha.

I do not always give BR from the first page. I might have done so in a few occassions.....but that's because I liked that particular response the best and not because I'm lazy to read all the responses. I wait a few weeks to get all the responses before I decide on the BR and I read every single one before I award the BR.

I think alot of people choose a best response from the first page also to save them the time of going through the rest of the pages. There may be a great response on the first page but there may also be a better one on the next page or last page also. I choose from the page with the best response on it but will choose on the first page also, especially if there is only one page at the time.

hi subha!
yeah. i tend to select the best response from the first page. but most of the times i try to browse the succeeding pages to see if there's a better response. i would browse from the first page up until to the third or fourth depending on the length of the discussion. usually i would go as far as the third page. ^__^;; sometimes i tend to set aside the giving of the best response award until there's enough responses to choose from so i wouldn't be limited to the first page.

Of course not!
I think if I do that, it would be unfair to all who have responded after the first page. Most people are not glued to the myLot screen and even if so, they might not see your discussion "timely".
As long as someone gives effort, I think it should be recognized. The least the discussion starter can do is to award him a plus rating and consider his response for the best response.
Cheers!

I don't exactly just choose those in the first place to be the best response... i always browse the other pages... sometimes the best response is in the third or second page...
For other members who award the best response early... the first page is always the place where they would choose... and i think that is the option of the one who started the discussion...

No. I think I choose the best response carefully and I will read the responses again and decide which one is the best. I like to be fair. So any pages can have the winner. As long as I think the response is the best, then I will mark it.

Nope, normally i will wait up to max 3 months, b4 i decide on my best response.. hehe =D SOmetimes i guess ple give best response fast because they think that the response really help them ^_^
But for me, because i start very few discussions and i can afford to check back on my post, so i can wait sometime b4 awarding my best response to whoever i think deserved it.. haha

Dear subha
I have noticed this as well. I think they do it to save time and trouble. I however, go through each response and mark the deserving one. Sometimes I give instaneous BR when some response is too appealing and just on reading I mark him the best.
But I hardly manage many responses - that makes things easier for me! lol...

Hi subha, I would read all the responses in a single discussion before awarding the best response. It would be rather easy to make a decision if the responses received are one or lesser pages. I would pick the one I consider to be the best and it might be happened to be in the first page and even the first one. Anyway I would choose the best response after some time but not on the same day I started the discussion. Sometime choosing a best response might be a tough work so I still have some unresolved discussions.
posting and have a nice day.

No, I always wait until responding slows down to the discussion, maybe when I haven't had a response to it in a couple of days, then I go through the whole of the responses, and pick a best response. I don't think its fair to just choose from the first page, even if its a discussion that is popular and has several pages. Each person took their time to come to my discussion and post a response, they should all be considered when I am choosing best response.

Hello dear subha. I usually read through all the responses before giving the best response, but I am sorry to say that I still do not have many discussions of mine, so I cannot give as many best responses as I can. Happy mylotting, dear subha.

In my case , it is not so..I read all responses carefully , on all pages..I wait before awarding B R , and I am never in a hurry.
I have noticed , many members , award BR within 5 to 6 responses, and do not wait for other responses.
Few of my friends always reply my discussions , though they are sometimes late,to do so..And I wait for couple of days , before selecting BR..
