Complaining to God

This morning we had a guest preacher and he preached on Psalm 13 how David complained to God about how he was being attacked by his enemies. And yet we hear day after day, we have to accept and not complain. That we take the lumps and just like it. But here was David complaining to God, and that made a difference. He was thanking God for HIS blessings that he had been redeemed from sin and yet he was asking God to remember him and not forget him. We heard that the wrong thing to do is to not give up, to not take it as an excuse not to pray and ask God for anything, and not to quit the church or stop believing in God anymore because HE had not help you yet. And also were told that we have to take all requests to God. So knowing this do you take all your requests, wants, and needs to God, or do you just take the pious requests like the need for conversion of loved ones, the need for the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit, etc. or do you just go through the Lord's Prayer and help it suffices.

I seem to remember an old hymn "take it to the Lord in prayer when we pray we are in conversation with God and its ok to tell him all and to ask that his will be done in the situation knowing he will answer but be prepared that answer may be no !for just as our earthly father says no to us on occasion so to will our heavenly father say no!we must remember that even if we cannot understand it at the time he will only do what is best for us in the long run!

The trouble with that is that there are some prayers that if not answered in the affirmative may result in some getting acting as though they deserve the negative answer. And that is why I keep praying and asking because as I prayed several times to God "I do not want to be the person who has the attitude of someone who does not deserve THOU to answer yes. So if I pray for a child, I do not want to be a child hater, If I pray for a nice house, I do not want to be a sloppy housewife, etc' " In others words I do not want to hear from God, I did not grant you your prayer because you did not deserve it."So we should always keep asking God to say yes and believe it because with God everything is possible.

I believe that we all worry at times, but if you truly believe in Gods word that worry is lifted from you. When I pray about something, I let it go. Because I know that God has promised to do as he says. He doesn't lie! If you're just looking for a positive answer from him, then you're not being real with yourself. Sometimes your answer may not be what you want to hear but you have to know that he's guiding you in the right direction. Sometimes we don't want to hear the answer so we ignore it, then when things go wrong in our lives we wonder why. If you truly believe in his word, you don't have to worry about anything. Also if you have a personal relationship with him and read the word daily, you don't have to rely on others to interpret the word for you. Be careful of who you ask, because I've found that everyone has their own interpretation of the bible. If you need help, go to someone who truly knows the word. Get a study bible so that the word can be broken down for you. It's like this 10 people can read the same book or watch the same movie, and all of them may have different interpretations. So, it's best to form a personal relationship with God, and ask him to guide you. Why worry about things that are out of your control, give it to God and let it go!!

I guess it is alright to complain to God and also to thank God. That is much better than complaining to other people who might know how to deal with the complaint or not. They might just be exacerbating the issue if they take it up without knowing how to solve it. God might be the better department to complain to. Cheers!!

I think that some of us are good at making money and some have to work extremely hard to do it. I do think it is what we think about ourselves. If you think you are worthless, then you will not try as hard and your unconscious mind will be against you. I think maybe you should pray to God to give you the spirit of confidence and to drive all negative thoughts away from you and to give yourself the ability to discern what jobs are crap and what occupations are good and the ability to work at them. I do a lot of saving, and I have had to fight against if I make any money the tax man will take it all away from me.

I like to get others opinions as well and see how they handled it if it were them. Some I know never had this happen, I did read of someone who had miscarriage after miscarriage and I can understand how they feel. But I also pray to God about allowing me to get pregnant and bear a healthy baby and that baby would grow up and believe, but I also ask here why, because there is phrase in our catechism God in HIS wisdom does not allow someone to bear children, I take it to mean that either I have a great talent or I am like Cruella or the grandmother in Kindergarten Cop. Since neither applies to me, it could either mean lack of faith or God allowing something bad to happen to put coals of fire on the bad people=- about their lack of forgiveness. I am sort of like that widow in the Bible who wants revenge against her adversary, and the only who can do it is God. And I thank God for answer my prayer.

I was talking about asking God for help when all the bad people are against you, or something bad is happening like getting out of deep financial hole - these are examples. Or some need you have to have or it will make you look like a bad person. And how come God is taking too long to help you even when you try to help yourself. Do you persist in asking or do you just give up on God. i am talking about needs, not wanting to win the lottery or marry a millionaire, or get an Iphone.

God does not stop us from complaining to him. All through David he complain and asked for forgiveness. It is not wrong to complain but it is the way you do it. God says that we should fear and respect him. I take all my needs to God what I am trying to do at this moment is to learn how to leave my needs in his capable hands. You see when I asked God for things I will then think and talk about it with others and not forgetting it. Although God takes long to fulfilled what I asked for he is always sure. What want us to go to him with our needs and wants for us and others. We need to pray for the Holy Spirit yes because we should always remember that it is he who comforts and teaches us, so to me this is a must. There are other Spirits that the bible takes about that we should have too. For instance the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding. Remember God does not give us the Spirit of Fear so we should always go to him. The bible says we should pray without ceasing. All the best. Kerry

That is what I feel. I have to fight against the maybe God does not want to answer that prayer with a yes, maybe HE has a better plan or maybe you will make a mess of it . Because I believe if I ask for the Holy Spirit I will pray in such a manner that when God does answer, I do not make a mess of things. So I not only pray that God will grant me my desire that HE also make me the person worthy of it. An example if I were to ask God for money and great wealth (I have not by the way) I would also ask HIM for the wisdom to be charitable, to use it wisely, and not squander it and to be a blessing as well.

My friend don't be afraid always remember God knows what each individual are capable of. So whatever you need go to him in prayer. I was in a relationship that I didn't know how to get out of. It has wreck my health, financial and emotional wise. There are times when I will say I am coming out but still in it. Since I have been praying and asking God to help me to go and not be dependable on this person there have been blessings. Trust God just as how you would have another. Thanks for the Best Response. I wish you God spirit of Love and Understanding. Kerry

God is our Father in Heaven. We need to talk to Him just like we do our Dad. We must complain to God when things are not right with us. That way he will know best how to help us. Be truthful with Him and let Him know all your feelings. He knows what they are anyway but maybe He thinks we need to admit to them. You will never go wrong by just being honest with God and letting him know your true feelings no matter what they are. It is real easy for God to explain things to us that help us to understand our feelings better. This is usually what the problem is. Very often we just don't correctly understand what is going on with us.

God is better than my dad. I feel more confident speaking or praying to God than to my dad. I was sort of afraid of him. I could never tell my father how I felt, not like I could with God and yet I hear people say 'don't tell God that, because that would make God angry." Well I want God to know what is troubling me, and why it is. HE already knows this, of course, but HE wants me to be not afraid to tell HIM.

We are told to cry out to God! He is our Father and wants our honesty. Prayer does not so much change THINGS, as it changes ME.

That is what I do, but so far my loved ones have not been saved. They attend the popular but not the true church and my husband does not even want to go to church. So I have done all that, and I pray for the gospel to be spread all over the world and all evil doers who do not do God's will get what they deserve and God would open their hearts to see the light, so it is not that.

I try to remember to take all my requests to God. He knows them anyway. I have found an additional ministry praying for people I meet online, when they talk about things they want prayed for, or when Ithink they need prayers.Of course I pray the pious prayers as well.

I was told that God only hears the want the Holy Spirit prayers and for a time, I prayed for other things but felt that I was being selfish, but what was selfish about wanting to bear a little life during my marriage and a healthy one at that, one that is not sickly or disabled? So I pray always for a miracle and will keep praying even though I am past the age.

I always say the Lord's Prayer however I take all my requests and needs to Him. Then if it is His will I shall get an answer. I have been very blessed as they have been just the right answers for me. Perhaps I do not recognise it as what I had hoped for at first but eventually it becomes clear that it is/was the right answer.

My prayers the ones I really needed have not been answered yet. I will still keep praying for them, my family has not been saved yet and I still have not had my prayer for a birth child in marriage answered yet even though I am past the age of bearing so it will have to be a miracle. I have had two adopted sons and they were not afraid of me, and I was able to care for them, and had I been a bad mother, the adoption agencies being what they are in Canada, I would have had them taking away from me. And I also prayed to be a loving mother, and someone whom God would give a child to. So I prayed so that I would not be my fault and also that any disease I had would be cured. The trouble was I did not pray deep enough at first and I did not pray that any disease I had would be cured, because I did not know that something was wrong. So I believe that a prayer may be hindered because one does not know what to pray for.

I first thank him, and praise him. I then worship him and glorify him. I ask him to guide me and walk with me and then present my requests. Then I pray for my friends, family and anyone I believe needs prayer; this is the time for intercession. Then I thank him again for listening to me, and giving me the breath to live and worship him and know him. He is life, he is everything. Lately, I had run away from God because I was disillusioned, and misguided by atheist preaching, especially of Shelley who is my favourite poet. But then I have realised they are all arguments by men and fallible. GOD exists; we would not be here without him. And I have come back to the heart of worship.

I thank God first, and then I pray for my family, my needs and for a wise godly men to rule us. I also pray for the Holy Spirit, but I wonder if it is the order that one prays. I do follow the Lord's Prayer. I never had trouble with atheism, I figured that they were all fools and I figure that one cannot trust anyone who does not have a good moral compass. I mean this Shelley he cheated on his wife and slept with Mary before he married, so that was not a good example. And people thought he was so wonderful because he had a way with words. Most of it had been in finding the right church and also finding why I had such a struggle with certain sins. I thought that I would get that nice pious feeling that they talk about.

Well, I figure that God gave me a brain so that I could help myself but that I would need Him sometimes. I do all I can to solve my problems then if I can't do it, I ask for His help. So He knows I never ask for little things. Usually I thank him as much and as often as I can for all the blessings He's given me. I don't think we have to accept and not complain, but I do think He'd like us to look at problems as opportunities for growth or something else in a more positive vein.

I find there are some problems that I can solve by working a little harder, and for them I ask for the strength, but most of what I ask are the impossible what I cannot do or what science cannot give me, that only God can grant that need. I tend to take needs as something that a multitude of people have except you. So if supposing that everyone gets a disease and in a few years they can walk, but you are still unable to walk, that would be a need. So if you are the one in a thousand person whom an illness may cause you to be paralyzed but it does not effect the other 999 then that is a need.

I don't think God has any problems with us complaining to Him, even if we're angry with Him about something. We are, after all, His children. Can you imagine (although I know it happens) not being able to go to your earthly father with your concerns? I believe we should go to God with praise, with thanksgiving, with needs and with complaints. There is no better source to deal with everything. We also have to be willing to accept His answer (I sometimes have a hard time with that one).

I have a hard time accepting no, especially if I did all in my part and changed my attitude to be a nicer person. If I decided to act mean and bitter, and not praise God, then I know I deserve that no.

GOD is FAITHFUL. He answers all our prayers. As for me, I do direct all my prayers to God and always believe that He will answer everything. It could be in a way that we want but it can be in His own way. He knows everything and He knows what's best for us. He allows things to happen for us to grow spiritually and He makes things happen for us to know that He is just there. (",)

I try to take all of my concerns, my compliments and my problems to God. Afterall He is the only one strong enough to handle everything. I don't pray as often as I should but I don't only pray to complain or to ask for things. Nearly every morning on my way to work I thank God for all of the beauty around me. I leave early enough so that I can enjoy the sunrise, the landscape and even the beauty of the early morning fog.

God - God is the principal or sole deity in religions and other belief systems that worship one deity.[1]

God is most often conceived of as the creator and overseer of the universe. Theologians have ascribed a variety of attributes to the many different conceptions of God. The most common among these include omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, omnibenevolence (perfect goodness), divine simplicity, jealousy, supernatural, and eternal and necessary existence. God has also been conceived as being incorporeal, a personal being, the source of all moral obligation, and the "greatest conceivable existent".[1] These attributes were all supported to varying degrees by the early Jewish, Christian and Muslim theologian philosophers, including Maimonides.[2], Augustine of Hippo,[2] and Al-Ghazali,[3] respectively. Many notable medieval philosophers developed arguments for the existence of God,[4] attempting to wrestle with the apparent contradictions implied by many of these attributes. The word god itself does show some etymological link to idols, [5] therefore, some faiths such as the Assemblies of Yahweh have returned to using the Name of YHWH.
I believe in God and all else..I pray but I don't go to church anymore..not that I don't like it and not that God would mind me not goin but I believe that if you have your faith and your beliefs thats what matters most. I don't depend on God with everything I try my best to achieve what I can. After getting my achievements I thank him, I thank him for what I have and what I get. I pray for him on times of needs only when I am desperate..But I believe that God will find a way for me when there seems to be no way. He is always beside me in everything I go through and with that belief I know he never leaves my side..Not being in Church or not going to church doesn't make me less of a believer but I believe not everyone who goes to church are people who follows his ways..I have proof of people like that who goes to church every Sunday some even everyday but they treat others cruelly outside of church. The Church is a place where we can learn from him and acknowledge him. It is a place we can pray and praise him but it doesn't mean that with you not going to church you are sinning. I don't believe that's true. God knows who is a true servant and the true believer.

i try to only come to the creator for big problems or worries, small ones i usually ignore them or deal with them myself. of course what is small to me may not be small for others, and big for me may be small nuisance for others. when i do pray i will use my own words i know if i haven't done anything wrong i will not lose any fight and i will receive exactly what i pray for. that's why i try to be careful in my own conduct because if i do make mistakes, things can actually get awry for myself. it may take years for the prayer to be answered, or it may only take a few hours but it's always the same rule: if i haven't done anything wrong i will get it, if not i won't. it doesn't matter i need what i pray for, or only want it. sometimes i was granted bigger luck in winning bingo when i was out of work, sometimes people chose to listen to their heart and do what was right or fair in my situation, all of these are the answers given to me. it's easy to believe that nobody hears our prayers, i had those times too, but there has been too many evidences in my life i just can't give up the fight easily anymore. i am sure if we all look back, we will notice that we do have some prayers that are answered now or maybe after a few years since we first prayed for it. if we give it up after we pray, what's the point of praying in the first place?

I have always admired David. He was very human, sinned greatly, he committed adultery and at one point even murdered, and yet he was a man after God's own heart. There's great comfort in knowing that he was forgiven, sometimes people think their sin is too great. He praised the Lord without caring what others thought. I think of the time that he danced naked before the Lord and Michal his wife mocked him. And yes he brought his complaints to God, sometimes even asking God where he was, and yet he always ended in praise to God. That is what I admire most about him. Yes we can bring our complaints to God but let us, like David always remember to praise him too.

For me complaining to God is not just mindless, pointless babbling. For me, when I talk to God about something that I dislike it kind of works as a catharsis. It helps me get it off my chest and once I have had my say I find that I'm on the other side able to get through what I know I have to do. So often I hear people say, "It's no use complaining. It doesn't do me any good anyway!", and I ALWAYS tell them that's not necessarily true. Complaining can help you process your thoughts and work out things. At least that's how it works for me. Now, if you are a pessimistic person who chronically complains,, that's another matter. THAT is when complaining does no good. That kind of person will complain no matter what and will find fault with everything. That is definitely not something that God wants from His children. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

I am always thankful to the GOD because HE is all above the world . i am of the view that we should not complain to GOD but should be thankful to HIS bleesing. HE do right at the right moment instead of complaining we should obey HIS surpeme order.this is right way of attaining real happiness in life.
