Thought I'd Lighten Up A Tad...

I've been doing a number of "heavy" duty topic discussions lately so I thought it was time for me to lighten up a bit by sharing a video with you. Some of you who are avid YouTube watchers may be familiar with the "Mean Kitty" series in which Cory the "director" of this series has not only a lot of videos of his "mean" kitty Sparta, but has a large following of subscribers, including me. He has one new video that I thought was cute..actually he has a series "How To Annoy Your Cat....In a Nice Way" and once again his cat Sparta is the star. Here's the video (This is NOT a referral link but a link to this video to watch) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhhUdkSHK50&feature=user Do you ever do things with your cat (or dog) to tease him/her?..like maybe drive your kitty or dog nuts moving a flashlight around and your kitty or dog tries to chase it? Or did you ever think to do this little "trick" on your cat like the Mean Kitty guy does...I guess it would work on dogs too.

Cute video Cats can be such a real delight to watch. Me, I like to get mine all riled up and watch him try to attack my bathrobe sleeve. he gets really ticked off when he discovers there is nothing in the sleeve to bite

That cat Sparta looks like a smaller version of my Bandit. I bet that would drive him crazy. I might just have to try it on him tomorrow. Bandit goes crazy chasing one of those red laser light things all the time.

Hi pye, Awwwwwwww, that's really cute. I've never seen these videos before. Maybe I'll try the receipt thing on Anna Belle, and if I had a 'working' flashlight as you've mentioned, I'd give this a go too. Have you tried placing a receipt on your kitties' backs yet? Take care.

I couldn't stop at this video. I ended up watching all of the Mean Kitty videos. lol Loved them all. I never did the receipt thing but I have and still do put one of those spring-type clothes pins on the very end of the cat's tail and watch them go nuts with it. lol Doesn't hurt them but annoys the crap outta them. I have yet to be owned by a cat or a dog that will chase a beam of light around. They just sit there and look at me like I've gone off the deep end, expecting them to chase it around.

I was actually watching all the Mean Kitty videos also..he has a lot of them and has sort of a fan club of watchers--wonder if Sparta realizes he's a "star" on the internet...Hey got a brilliant idea...you should tape some of Tigger's antics...and maybe he can become a star too

yes my late doggy Bear a black lab, used to go nuts chasing a little light around the house that my oldest son had on his pen. he'd bring it over and get a kick out of bear chasing it. soon he figured out where the light was coming from and started trying to get it out of his hand.

-giggling- You just gave me another idea for Simba, Lakota. Thanks for the idea! Simba is my crazy cat while Tigger is somewhat timid cept when it comes to playing with Simba. I could never do the things that guy in the videos does to his cats with Tigger. He would run and hide the entire day thinking I was going to really hurt him.

Cute videos. I've annoyed my cat Skyebye a few timesa with dripping water on her. Though she usually gets me back when she shakes it off...lol! The paper trick, doesn't seem to get to them, nor does getting a new cat work either, since they all were raised around other cats. Though I guess it is still possible they get on each other's nerves from time to time. This is my favorite video (not a referral link): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6a8T5Z5wkk It's called cat spanking, but it's not as harmful as it sounds. It's a method used to massage cats. The cat in this clip in my opinion is really cute on what he/she does, when the person stops.

Out of all the cats I have, only four of them like this type of massage. Skyebye likes to have it done when I first get up in the morning, if I ignore her for any second, like to get a cup of coffee first, she'll stay mad at me all day, even after the massage session. Peak, likes to have his done in the afternoon, and will let me know he is ready, by blocking out my computer screen until I give him his massage. Cheyenne usually likes her's done every other day, and will claw at my feet until I give in and start. Casey my oldest, loves to have her's whenever I go into the livingroom to watch a movie or spend time with the family. Each one can last for hours, but I usually end it after the first hour or so, so I can get a break. The other cats just ran from me when I tried it on them, so I don't do it on them, since I know they don't like it. That's why I like cats so much, even though they can't speak they still have their own little ways of letting us know their likes and dislikes, if we pay attention enough.

I think my cats would freak out if I tried to "spank" them...especially my Kissy who is such a timid thing anyway

lol... Sure we mess with our kitties too. I call it playing. We will shine the flashlight on the wall and they go crazy- trying to get it. It also works with your watch- when the sunlight hits it just right- the light shows on the wall. It's fun. They can't figure out why they can't grab it- and I always move it before they pounce!

I actually have two very laid back kitties...whenever I try the flashlight trick they just look at me like I'm nuts...still want to do the receipt trick and see how they react

Ahhh! Poor kitty. Bad Cory.I happened to catch Cory on the Tyra Banks Show a couple of weeks ago, pyewacket. She devoted an entire show to Youtube videos and people who have become famous from there. I also enjoyed some of the other m "Mean Kitty" videos.

Ha ha that video was really cute, and I'm gonna try it. I like playing around with my cat and kitten and teasing them all the time, as I think it keeps them on their toes, and I have a little fun as well.

That is funny. We do something similar by placing a post it on the dogs or cats back. It is really funny to watch them try to get rid of it and the small amount of glue on a post it will not hurt them.
