Surgery Update

Well things started off great today as far as dads surgery went.
It was scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Dr was an hour ahead of schedule so it was set up for noon instead.
Seems the tumor(s) removed do not appear to be cancerous according to the Dr.
The prostate moved towards the bladder which also is a good sign as far as non cancerous tumors stated the Dr.
Dad has a cathater until Friday so that's a lot of fun.
No pain or discomfort dad says.
Now it's wait a week to see the results of the biopsy.
\Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers this past month in my life.
They've all been needed AND appreciated deeply.

Well the Dr said it looked good as far as cancer etc.
he said, "Fingers crossed there won't be cancer."
So I am positive minded.
Thanks also. I do need some rest and lot's of it.

I am so glad that it all went well and of course I will still keep you both in my thoughts and hope that the Biopsy comes back negative
I am happy to read that your Dad is in no pain or anything like that either that is so good and no doubt easier for you

he seems yo be able to go without straining now.
So things appear normal so far.
he has an Appt on Friday and another on Tuesday.
Tuesday hopefully we find the results of the biopsy.

I love the fact that you always keep us up to date on what is going on, good or bad. Glad that the surgical prognosis is optimistic. You do not need any more negatives. Say Hi to dad from us all.

being on here is a stress reliever most times for me.
So that is the main reason for the updates etc.
It makes me feel better and eases my heart and mind etc doing it.
Now if this damn catheter didn't leak when he urinated things would be great.
Most goes in the bag.
But when he got up tonight the towel on the chair was really wet.
Oh well, I'll deal with that as usual.

Hi Bob, I am really happy things went well for your Dad, and I am really happy that the tumors don't appear to be cancerous. Your Dad has taken the entire process well, and I think you are a great caregiver. Give my hugs to your Dad. :)

dad did not even recall why he was in the hospital.
That's one good thing about his slight dementia.
They asked him about 5 times why he was there.
he kept pointing at me saying ask him he has power of attorney. Hahaha!
But he did well and so far things are oplay except for a leaky catheter.
Oh well.

Good to hear that things are off to a good start. How is your father holding up? Can't trust your father though when he says no pain and such. Look how long he didn't say anything about the bleeding. We'll keep praying.

Everythhing seems okay.
I was awoken at 5 a.m. needing to change his clothes as the catheter slipped loose a bit making a mess in his pants.
No biggie though. Painfree when he goes now it seems.

The grand daughters times is either Saturday or Sunday.
It depends on dad and me.
Those are the plans anyhow.

Hey Grandpa Bob! Glad to hear that all went well with the
surgery! And glad to hear that things don't look too bad.
That's a very good sign when the doctor says that they
look like they will be ok just from looking at the them
from the biopsy alone. So hopefully Dad will be just fine!
Glad he has no real discomfort. I will still keep you and
Dad in my prayers! Now get some rest so you can take care
of Dad and save some energy for Minnie and Savanna!

Wow, I am glad that things are going good. Sorry that your dad had to go through all this. Hopefully no more things going wrong for a while.

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
I am so happy its not cancerous and he is in no pain and it is a relief to know he is ok, so its another week to find the results now and I will keep on praying for your dad, good luck and thanks.
