According to an article on daily mail newspaper online “Women who use talcum powder every day to keep fresh are 40 per cent more likely to develop ovarian cancer, according to alarming research.” You can find the link to the article here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1063040/Cancer-alert-talc-Women-using-powder-day-risk.html Do you believe in such findings? Do you think that scientists are exaggerating?

Hi ronald- what I cannnot see is if a woman uses talc just on her body every day after a bath or shower how on earth can it be justified to say that women can be affected at all....I think it is ludicrous half the things that are coming out nowadays of how this that and the othr can affect any of us...but guess that's just my opinion littleowl

Hi ronaldinu, I am really getting fed up with those scientists who have nothing better to do but start all this racket, people been using talc since the year do and now they going on about casing cancer, why don't they just concentrate on finding cure for cancer instead. Tamara

I totally agree! Fine a cure for this nasty disease instead of pointing yet another finger at something else that can causes it.Well it seems like anything can cause cancer anymore according to these scientist. These scientist need to help the cause instead of creating disinformation & propaganda .

It seems that every day scientists are finding more and more products that can cause cancer. If they continue to do this, there will be nothing left for us to eat or use. Personally, I prefer to ignore all of these so called researchers and just live my life to the full. Up to now, I have eaten all the foods that are suppose to be unhealthy and I am in perfect health, according to my GP, so I have no intention of changing my lifestyle...unless of course it is harmful to our planet.

They could be exaggerating, or they might have found something for real. Well, women have been using talcum powder for ages, and it is also true that cases of cancer are on the rise. I don't use talcum powder, but my Mom does. I told her about your post and guess what she said: "Using talcum powder causes cancer, eh? What about staying alive? Doesn't that cause cancer too??" She is one tough talcum powder user!! :) Cancer or no cancer she won't give up her talcum powder. Cheers and happy mylotting

I don’t know if I will believe this or not. How come that it is harmful when babies used talc powder to keep them fresh and some brand says that it’s hypoallergenic. Meaning it is safe for the skin. If it’s safe for the skin, well I think it is safe to use as it is being apply directly in the skin and not in the other parts of the body.

It is good that at ;east the Government are doing there cancer awareness on this beauty product and it is good for the people to be aware of this kind of mess and even from the "Lipstick" I do hear it also that it can also cause a Cancer and then we need to be careful enough of the product that we are using and so glad that I have the wife which is confident on wearing her own beauty from in and out......

I heard of this years ago and I figure they know what they are talking about so I switched from talc powder to Cornstarch now. it is just as good as baby powder made with talc.

I used corn starch on all my children when they wore diapers..(the real cloth kind) so if it was good enough for them then its good for us women!

They scream cancer alert over everything. I'm in my 50's and I've been using talcum powder all my life. I have put it all over my body ever since I can ever remember. I have always like to smell good and feel soft. I use lotion and powder. I have for all my life. My mother used it on me and I kept up the regeign. I have yet to get any kind of cancer... knock on wood... I have many other medical issues but not cancer or anything coming from me using lotion or talcum powder all my life. I may be one of the lucky ones, if so I'm so glad. And I will not stop using them. As everything else, eggs and many other things. I think they are exaggerating!

I think its good that they found this study. They say not to use it on baby girls for this reason as well. I get utis all the time so I cannot use baby powder down there as it would just create more problems. I did use to use it in the past but have since stopped.

I have to say that I find this news very difficult to believe. How did they narrow it down to talc when it is something external? Wow. It has made me look at talcum powder different now but I won't stop using it as I don't use too much of it.

Lots of things aren't good for anyone...under arm deo., toothpaste, talc and hair dye but its not going to make any difference if you have the cancer gene already or it runs in your family..all you can do is try more organic items..

Well there goes my powder, I have been using talcum powder for a long time I like powder, but I will not be using it any more, if the damage hasn't already been done then it won't. I will now use lotion until they find something wrong with that too.

The only time i would believe anything like this was true i would seek medical advice and if the doctor said Yes ok but if he said no i would ignore it I think this article was just seeking attention and helping a reporter get something done Good Luck

Thats scary as talc is meant to help you smell nice. I actually don't use talc and haven't done for many years, I like to erap the towel around me and towel dry on the bed. Can't be bothered to go back to the bathroom to talc... also makes so much mess on the floor and in the bath

This is an old warning that has been going around for years and years. Unfortunately it is based upon studies that do prove it. They also recommend you are careful when using baby powder on infant girls for this same reason. But, this news isn't anything new, its been out there awhile.

Well good for me because I am not using powder at all because I am allergic to all kinds of powders and I heard about this article too but I am still not satisfy if it is true or not but maybe if there is a person who got cancer because of the powder then its time for me to believe..I know there are some people who just want to posts these kinds of news so that there site will be visited by lots of people,Just like last month, there was this article that scientist will finally turn on there new gadget then it will be risky to human and might the reason to have a doomsday during wednesday but yeah, nothing happens at all..:-0 I know there are some issues that are real and some are not so we will see and observed about this..:-0 GOd bless and have a nice day and thanks for sharing..:-0

Oh Dear, so bad news for the health then. How come could it be harmful if we are only using it in our external body parts? and maybe they gonna stop producing and manufacturing the talc coz it's risky for health. I will not going to use talc for my baby too just for safety. Happy posting.
