i have been scammed

October 3, 2008 11:28am CST
Guys i never thought that this will happen to me but it has happened and am in total shock. A couple weeks ago i started looking for ways to earn on line and some sites have been successful. I registered with an American company that deals with surveys and free lance writing called Homesurveyworkers.com. I checked my account today and a large amount had been taken out of £55. And to top it all off the site is not allowing me to login. I have used the correct username and password and i have even asked them to mail me my password as i cannot remember it which they did and ofcourse its still the same. I have reported to the bank and blocked them from taking any further money out. Has anyone heard of this company before? What is your opinion on this?

I haven't heard of the company before. It is a good thing that you called your back like you did. They may be able to help you get the money back, but you will need to talk with some at your bank to see what else can be done.

I am sorry to hear that. I haven't heard that sites but I just checked it. Why don't you call the number of that site and ask why it happened. Let them explain first why and how. Then, maybe you should ask for the refund of that. IT happened to my husband too but he was not into any sites. He was just surprise when someone appeared in his account withdrawing 11$. So he called that company and ask why they're taking 11$ which he didn't even remember of getting into it. He called the us bank to clear it out and now it is fix. Hope you will get rid of that soon

I thought of calling the company but i will be spending around the same money or more to get dealt with and to be honest i dont think its worth me losing anymore money. I have written to their support team and I am waiting to hear from them. Which am sure they wont do.

im very sad for you...there are really suckers here..infact so much of them here in the internet lurking and waiting for their next victim...i know the feeling of being scammed because that happened to me 1 year ago..i was really devastated and hurt and i really needed time to recover from the lost...but with you that is a huge amount of money...so next time be very careful not to input your bank account details...that would be too obvious.

I am sorry to hear that you have been scammed, it is a lot of money that you have lost too. I try to be very careful who I give my details too, but it is all to easy to see something and be convinced that it is not a rip off. I hope that you manage to sort it out.

Grr.. That's bad. But hey, thanks for informing us about it. It's sad that you lost your money, which comes after a lot of hard work. Did you try to report it to some site where they record all scam sites? I think you should do that because if anybody wants to join that site and does a pre-sign up research, he should know about its scam and steer right away from them. bourne

Hi there I have reported to scam reporting sites and I hope that something will be done. It turns out that this site has been noticed as a scam site and its unfortunate that i didnt do my research but i guess thats a lesson learnt.

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you have been scammed. I know the feeling cause I have experienced that before and I have learned from it. Everybody should be very careful in signing up for an online job. The obvious warning I think is when the site is asking payment or any sign up fee upon joining. If its a genuine site then they should be asking online job seekers to pay them for a job. Also don't ever give your personal account details to anyone. You can also report the site/company to BBB.org. Thats Better Business Beaurue. It's an organization that has a record of different types of business that's legit and scam. Ciao!

Wow, that's incredible. I've never heard of this company. Was there anything in their agreement that said anything about a fee for their services or a fee for international users? I think some of these sites charge you for "finding surveys". The fact that they won't let you log in is pretty bad.

Yes there was a fee but it wasnt as much as that for i wouldnt have registered if it was going to be that high. The thing that is killing me is the fact that i cant login. At least if i did i would hope to make the money back in the long run however long it would take.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been scammed. For any home-based jobs, nobody should be paying to get that job. I've been scammed and I understand how you feel. Mine was iNetDataEntry.com which provided me with lots of link sites that you, otherwise, can find free in the Internet. Let's just be careful next time!

I haven't heard of it but taking surveys is supposed to be FREE. I've heard a lot of online surveys who asks you to pay them. They are usually classified as scam. The fact that the users registered their E-Mail is actually a privilege for them since they can say sell it companies and have those people send you surveys. Tsk tsk. Those people will do just about anything to make money

I know they know that there people like me who will also do anything to make money. lol Circles. So unfair.

I'm sorry to hear your plight. But I must say thank you for letting all of use here at mylot know about it. I'd be sure to remember not to join that site. I am a member of a survey company and so far, I have accummulated points to be exchanged for vouchers. I enjoy that as it helps to reduce some of my grocery bills. I have also learned quite a bit from this thread about certain precautions taht need to be taken when joining such sites.

I am sorry to hear that my friend. In the past I lost $20.0 to site. But after that I stopped using all those sites who asks money for joining. They sure are scams. You have taken a good decision to stop further erosion of your money and by posting this information. This will help more people to be alert against such scams. Thanks for sharing

I'm sorry to hear this, but nowadays you cant really know whats next and with the internet, it makes it harder. Hope you can resolve your issue, but if I have read right, then there's nothing you can do, unfortunately, and I'm afraid these things will keep on happening to people like me and you... sad, shocking, but true =(

I know and thats the truth about life. The only thing i can do is learn from this and move on. In future i will now be more alert and cautious and I also hope that the rest of you that read this do the same.
