I am the type of driver that I need complete silence when I am driving. I hate music or radio as they distract me from driving. However my son always try to bring a deep conversation and ask a lot of questions while I am driving that sometimes I have to tell him to shut up at least while I am going into a major road full of traffic. I was thinking that you were only like 20... I need to have it quiet. I do not like a lot of distractions! I need it quiet when I am back seat driving too!

My mother never had a driver's license but had an official looking card that said she had a back seat driver's license. It was always the funniest thing for a conversation. When my father passed away, she inherited his care and took a driving lesson to get her license, but we talked her out of it since she was in her 60's and had 6 children that we told her could take her anywhere she needed to go.

I do need to have complete attention while I am driving. I do listen to the radio and I can talk to someone riding with me, but I cannot take my eyes off the road for a second. I am a new driver so I am still a little petrified to drive. Especially on the highway and at night. At night I do have the radio off because I need to focus on the road that I can see.

I also need concentration while driving. But I don't mind if the radio is on because I like to enjoy listening to the music while driving, and it makes me feel more relaxed. However I don't like to entertain people who want to talk to me while I am driving because I can't concentrate while talking. If a person talks to me, I would just nod or shake my head but I wouldn't give any comments. There had been a moment when I talked while driving, and I almost crashed into a drain because I didn't see it was there.

I guess alot of ple are same like u.. But in singapore, most drivers won't care about that.. They dun talk to their passengers, but instead, they choose to drive with one hand and be talking on their cell phone instead.. Or even worse, they will be texting as they are driving.. ANd so when they are not concentrating on driving, accidents happen..

No, I usually don't, most of the time I've got the radio going, and I'm singing my lungs out with it..lol. I don't like riding in a quiet car, I've always gotta have the radio on, or if somebody's with me, we're usually talking. I don't get distracted too much.

Well, there are sometimes every person no matter who they are needs a quite time while driving, especially while maneuvering in heavy traffic. For medical and personal reasons I choose not to drive, but back when I did I enjoyed a little music especially if I was driving somewhere alone as that helped make me feel a little more safe. My husband always has a CD playing of some sort while driving or the radio unless in a lot of traffic where it might make it hard for him to concentrate as well.

I don't drive becauuse of my vision and my husband has bad vision as well, so he dooesn't drive either. When he did drive though, he agreed that complete attention was necessary. it's not good to be distracted while driving, because one never knows what is going to happen on the road.

I like to listen to the radio when I drive and can carry on a conversation, also. I didn't use to talk on the phone, but can now, although I don't like to, and keep the conversations short, or tell someone I will call them later if it is not important. If I am in an unfamiliar place I like to have my full attention on the road and the road signs that I am trying to find and/or follow, but I always have my music on.

Hi Ronald. As a starter driver like me, indeed I need a complete attention or 100% aware of my surroundings while driving. Though I play music while driving, still I am checking the signs, my speed, cars in front and behind me. There's a little fear within me while driving but I need to over come it for me to drive properly. Sometimes I am not totally aware of cars but I am trying to drive safely.

We always need to concentrate while driving to avoid any accidents. So we just have to be careful. Its fine to talk but we should pay attention to our driving. We might be careful and other drivers don't so we should make sure we can avoid anything that causes accident.

For Some People it may be yes and for some it may be no. But for me i need some body to talk with me when i go for long trips. And music when i feel sleepy. Last week I had a long drive of about 1200Kms in just two days with my friends. I felt sleepy when they stopped talking. And so it ended up with each person in d car had a shift to talk with me until we reached back

I like quiet, but do not mind some types of music. Driving for work I do not get the quiet, the clients like to talk, and jabber. There are times that I will firmly ask them to be quiet, like when I am backing up. You may be missing a chance to get in some good communication with your son. They say that riding in the car is when they are willing to talk because they do not have to look you in the eye.

Hi ronaldinu! I think whenever we drive we should always concentrate and focus our attention to it. One mistake could lead to a devastating accident, where life could be in danger. Though I'm very different from you because I love to hear music whenever I'm driving or have some conversation with my passenger. It helps me to be relax and have attentive mind.

No, I really don't need silence while I am driving. If I am by myself in the car then I usually am talking on the phone or listening to the radio. When I listen to the radio I usually keep it on pretty loud too. Then, when I do have people in the car it is children as I have 4 children. They are always talking, singing, etc. And I have a DVD system in the minivan so if we are taking a road trip or a trip maybe 30 minutes or more then I have a movie going or they are playing video games in there. It is fine. As long as no one bothers me then I can drive just fine. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

It's okay to have minimal talking while driving however I can't tolerate too much talking. Same is true with my hubby and son. Both of them would want some silence which is but right. We have to really concentrate on driving especialy when we are in a very tight traffic.

I am the opposite. I can talk, sing, listen to music, but I will not talk on the phone or do silly things. If I am in a position where I need to really concentrate hard, I will not talk.

Almost I need complete attention while driving beucause I always consistently write and I don't want be distracted from my thinking and writing .I think writing is a process of thinking and if it is obliged to interrupt,it will be quite difficult to resume for me.SO,when i am ready to write,i will leave me alone in a room without noise and tell my prarents and friends not to interrupt me possibly
