Forbidden words in myLot

Have you ever noticed that some perfectly normal, ordinary, inoffensive words are banned on here? For example a nursery rhyme: P*ssy cat, p*ssy cat Where have you been? Or a man's name: D*ck - short for Richard or an animal: C*ck - alternate word for rooster A** - alternate word for donkey or b*tt - the end of a cigarette Well obviously the programming here isn't smart enough to tell the difference between a meaning that is pure as the driven snow and one that isn't. Have you ever had to modify a discussion because a perfectly normal word in a discussion was flagged as being unallowed content?

I have got flagged a few times. They where spelling mistakes and I had to hunt the comment I had written. I used hell and crap yesterday, half expecting a red warning but they where ok. It is strange that a** is banned and B*tt also. Crap is not a nice word and it is allowed though. Is sh*t allowed. Sorry I am getting carried away now. I am trying to think of more words. Well thanks for this discussion. I am sure I will discover plenty more on here. Ha Sh*t was not allowed I got flagged, now I know another one.

Yeah, you can't even be the b*tt of a joke around here or c*ck a pistol without having to retype your discussion.

i notice that as well couple of times... but it doesn't really affect me a lot because i hardly use those words that you mentioned... and yes, when i want to say forbidden words here, i have to change the word that can be accepted by mylot... otherwise, i can't post my discussions or replies... take care and have a nice day...

I have noticed the same in one of my response. I need to explain about the chemical compound which increases its weight to about 10 times. And its name is s h i t. But after posting the same, it shows the warning on abuse words. Then I haven't used the word and used a substitute for that. I know that word is bad word to use. It said like the forbidden words in mylots, and it violates the mylot terms.

yes, as funny was it might sound, I was playing some English online game with a few friends and since we talk in our native language and not English we usually end up seeing some weird words because the system censors them even if they don't mean anything bad in our language. Actually it got to a point where we could not understand each other but we usually stretched the words or just wrote something that sounds like the same word.

Well you just need to find alternate ways to spell them, you can still get them in one way or the other!

There was a time when I got flagged at a discussion and could not figure out which word was offensive. Finally got fed up and just changed all the wordings of the discussion keeping the meaning the same.

Yeah they used to not tell you. Now at least they tell you what the offending word is!
