Do you?

I just found this Interest Group and it crossed my mind that there are a lot of folk on here but I am not aware that I have ever seen one admit to cross dressing. I confess that I did once. I was in a school play and had to wear a red silk dress. I borrowed a pair of high heels from my Mum, a couple of sizes too big for me, had a wig and makeup applied and off I went. I had to enter down some stairs saying "There's a man at the door Ma'am". As I came down the stairs my heels got caught, I fell and my dress and the highly polished wood of the stage reacted by making me "body surf" across the stage as I said my lines. The audience did not treat this with the seriousness that they ought and howled with laughter. My adventure in cross dressing was over!
Have you cross dressed? Can you convince me why, 37 years later, I should try again?

Cross dressing for a woman isn't that hard - most of us wear trousers/jeans so all we would have to do is replace our high heeled shoes for trainers or flat shoes and put on a jacket or something.
If you feel comfortable wearing woman's clothes p1key, I say go for it but finding clothes in the correct size that is comfortable sure isn't an easy task at all!!!!
What clothing are you thinking about trying???

Ho Ho. Very funny Cinders. Apart from bras and possibly a corset apparently if they get the votes and no I'm not telling you where the discussion is; I am not that way inclined. I found the interest group last night and wondered whether there are any here. I don't think that I'd look that good really. I'd look like Hyacinth Bouquet I think, but worse!

I'll start looking through the catalogue to see what we can find in your size!! Just how did you manage to come across this interest group in the first place?? Makes me wonder....I bet you created it and am trying to get the group more publicised for some daft stories!! ha ha ha

Oh, I can just imagine how you must've felt. Your acting career and cross-dressing adventures both ended like that in one fell swoop! And shame on that audience for not taking you seriously,
. They were obviously philistines.
I haven't cross-dressed, although like you point out, a woman wearing mens' clothes doesn't get the same kind of reaction as male cross-dressers. I've never really felt the need to wear male clothes; to be honest I think that womens' clothes are more exciting anyway! But some men like to dress as women, and they're not harming anyone, so I say live and let live.
I won't try to convince you to try it again. I reckon that if you don't feel the urge (or don't want to appear in pantomime), don't do it!

Funnily enough it was the end of both - less a former GF getting me to wear her dress to a party. But we won't dwell on that here. Some men do enjoy dressing as women and I think that it is all to do with sensation (apart from those that actually DO want to be females). I'm pretty happy as I am although there is a vote going on this site to get me into a corset! LOL.

I won't press you on the GF's dress!
As for the corset, don't do it! I've always thought that they look like torture devices squeezing and squashing your insides...

Interesting, I have known a couple of cross dressers in the last few years. In every case they were men who felt that they really wanted to female. Some of the ones I have met looked a little female, the one who made the high healed boots was quite pretty and had it down to a fine art, she was a lovely lady.
These were not just men who wore women's clothes but men who really wanted to be female as the one who shared with us for a while said she was a lesbian she only liked women. These men just felt more comfortable being women than men and I doubt that any of them knew why.

Yes it can be a marriage breaker. Our house mate had that problem with his ex wife. Unfortunately our society is so rigid still where gender roles are involved that it is very hard for these people to express their needs.
Not only that many men mistake them for being gay when they often are not.

I guess that there are two types here Sharra. Those that want to be female and those that enjoy the sensation of feminine attire. The first I feel must be so frustrated and long for the day when they can have transgender surgery - if they are brave enough. I know that I couldn't do it. The second in some way must struggle even more. Apparently they are normally heterosexual but struggle to admit their feelings, especially to their female partners, who sometimes react with disgust. It can be a marriage breaker. See Oreo's comment above. Personally I'll wear the corset if I lose Lamb's challenge. But it isn't my thing otherwise.

they had been doing it before i knew them so i didnt do it to them haha.. but i found it highly amusing and would go with them out while they were in drag.. it was hilarious since they didnt look anything like a woman and they knew it so im not sure how much of it was a joke to them or serious.. i didnt care and thats the only thing that mattered between us since a lot of people would freak out if they dated some one and found that out

umm, I have wore men clothes before as I am sure alot of women will admit to wearing something of their dads or husbands atleast a few times. I don't know if that would be considered cross dressing. Once as a joke my hubby rolled up his pants and ran down the road with my long skirt on..thank goodness not alot of people seen that.
I am sorry to hear about your misfortune with your first cross dressing but maybe someone should have given you lower heels and tried to find your size at a thrift shop so you wouldn't have had your body surf experience. I can't convince you. Well this time atleast pass on wearing the heels if you decide to. It would have made cute Halloween costumes though you dress as your wife she dress as you..
Some men get a rush out of wearing women clothing and they like it. Maybe men like to wear woman's clothing because they like the feel and the swish of the material as it caress's their skin as they move or the different feels and textures of the material. I know it isn't for the pantyhose those are torture. I guess if you are doing it as a challenge and want to show you aren't afraid to wear anything and that your comfortable with your manliness enough to wear it then what have you got to lose and enjoy watching others eat crow..

Oh pikey! Ever so the comedian! Isn't it so like you to
enter in such a way as to make the audience laugh! I can
just picture this! Since you were such a hit then why
wouldn't you try the cross dressing thing again! I assume
you are talking about some little bet that was made
between you and a "lamb"? I think it might be a little
late for you to back out of it now! I think you would
make a lovely lady for a day! Nope, I've never cross
dressed! Although, I do have a pair of construction boots
that are acutually men's boots. My girlfriend convinced
me to buy the men's shoes and told me what size I would
be in a men's shoe! I love them! They are really very
comfortable and I do wear them all the time in the bad
weather!

I didn't make a bet with Lamb, I simply said that is someone could get 50 votes then I'd do it. She's the one that has picked up the baton. Not doing very well so far either. Women can et away with wearing men's clothes, but few men that I've seen can carry it of in the opposite direction. But then I suspect that for many it is not what they look like, but how it makes them feel wearing the clothes.

I think, no need to convince you. If you want to try it, then do it. I you don't want to, then why to do it. So why to cross dress if there is nothing to cross dress about. For me, I cross dress occasionally. It is really in you if you want to do it again.

Excuse me, what do you mean by cross dress? Sorry about my poor English, I can nor understand it really. Is it mean man in woman dress or woman in men dress?
Coule you explain it to me, please.

Hahaha. Funny story. I never did cross dressing. I hate it. Even during carnival I never dress up as a woman. Anyway I would be too noticeable that i am a man from very far away! © ronaldinu 2008

Do what you feel! You only go through once. Can you convince yourself not to? Why? If you did it once why not again. Pick your place and go for it. If you don't feel comfortable doing this around home go for a vacation and do it. Why not? There is not reason not to. You aren't hurting anyone and if it makes you happy--?

I thought that this would happen. I don't want to cross dress. I saw the interest group and it made me chuckle. However, I do so agree with you. If I wanted to, trust me I would. I've said to several people that if they are willing to dress me we'll do it for a giggle. But it is not something that I have a yen for particularly.

Hi ya p1kef1sh
It could only happen to you couldn't it? LOL. In a way you could say that women cross dress every day as they wear trousers. Like today I am wearing black jeans, a black hoody and brown like dessert boots that could be considered masculine. I am of course not trying to pass off as a man though! LOL. I think that a lot of men want to try on womens's clothes just to find out what it feels like and will grab any opportunity to do this so that it doesn't look like they are trying to be like a woman. I know that in the past when I have been involved with plays and productions and there is role going for someone to do drag all the fella's hands go up immediately!!

Yes it is a funny experience of your life. If I were present there I would also burst with laughter. I have also a such experience. That was also a school drama. It was my first stage performence.I played the role of a dad man.My body was covered with white cloth. The audience were serious. In this seen before the screen dropped I stood up .The whole audience burst into laud laugh. When I remember this I myself laugh now.
