Too much excitement yesterday!

Well, as most of my friends know, I took Taj to the vet yesterday. This meant that I was out pretty early so I went over for an hour to my job. After I got off the highway to go to my client's and the street before her street was closed. There was a bunch of police cars, a SWAT truck, and in the grocery store's parking lot were lots more police cars and News trucks. I got to the apartment and turned the TV to the local news to find out what was going on! Turned out that 5 men had broken into a house and shot up the household. Then they left but were quickly spotted by the police the pick up truck they were in. The truck hit a pole about a block from my client's place and the men got out and ran. One turned and fired on the police and was shot dead by an officer who had only been on the force for less than a year. The man was wearing a bullet proof vest and carring an AK-47. They started doing a search for the other 4 men, and ended up with 3 more in custody. They had the area blockaded, but lifted it mid-afternoon. Today, while I was checking her mail, there were 4 cop cars at her complex, don't know why, didn't stop to ask either.

Wow, you had the chance to feel real experience of crime in progress. If I were you, I would feel afraid to come to that place. I would postpone it to another day so that I can be away from it. I am always panic when there are crimes happening near me. Here in my country there are a lot of crimes too and some of them happened in our own homes. And it is very terrifying, just imagine you think your home is the safest place you can be but now that is also being jeopardized. What will happen in the future, I just don't know.

That is a lot more excitement than I would want to experience up close and personal. I wonder if the police were still looking for the remaining suspect, or if they were seeking witnesses to the shooting of the one perpetrator. I know they always have to do a very thorough investigation to clear the police officer involved, or I guess to not clear him, perhaps. It will probably be on the news eventually as well.

It is SOP to have the office off the streets while the "investigation" is done reguarding the shooting, but there were plenty of people around to vouch that the perp shot first. He'll be back on the streets doing a great job soon no doubt.

With out a doubt, this has been the worse that has happend in the area since I started working there a year and a half ago. Think it was too hot for this stuff this summer tho.

Gee, just an ordinary boring dull day, huh? LOL My goodness is all I can say. Weird one expects that kind of "excitement" in my neck of the woods in the big apple, but compared to what happened where you are today, our neighborhood sounds sleepy and dull..nothing like that happens here...thank goodness!

I wasn't overly worried. I figure that worry causes more trouble that it stops. I don't often have problems because I walk around like I'm the one that they need to worry about!

Yeah, things were back to normal on Friday. Probably the police were on a higher alert for things in the area.

Yeah, and it was a nice cool, pretty day and if it hadn't been for that, I would've opened up her place to air out.

Wow I think I would have ran in the apartment and locked the door and not answered it to anyone except the police and only after checking with 911 operator to make sure it was truly the police. How scary. Yesterday's excitement was a bad wreck on the freeway that blocked the freeway for miles and for most of the day. It involved a couple of big rigs. I did not get the whole story. I went out to help my friend how has the mini farm, she had two groups of kids come over. I was not feeling good but I told her I would be there so I was. I was so dizzy I had to use my cane. I took my cane in the animals pens with me. At least I did not fall. I did sleep for a few hours this afternoon. I do feel better now.

I figure I'm the worst thing anyone can run into, so I refuse to worry about anyone else. I will say I've never been messed with since college and then the jerk tried to soften me up with booze (didn't work.)
