Let’s forget about health issue. Let’s talk about happiness. I ask myself simple question. What food would make me happy? Believe or not, I am not able to answer my question. When I was small, I used to eat farmer cheese with honey all day long. I would probably be happy wit any kind of cheese and a lots of nuts. I don’t mention chocolate or Ice Cream because I don’t like sweets. What is your “happy” food?

Ho Polachicago, This is fact is a difficult question to answer and I have been sitting trying to think of what would be my favourite food. I definitely prefer savoury but which food all depends on the mood I am in and what I fancy. I eat a lot of chicken and love spicy food so I may go with a Thai chicken curry but then again I enjoy a good steak with all the trimmings too and a hot peppercorn sauce. Huggles. Ellie :D

Cheese and nuts. You're my kinda gal, pola! I love cheese. And we have pecan trees in our yard (and all over town, for that matter), so we get free snacks each Fall.

I don't see why not. They seem to be pretty hardy trees. Most of the pecan trees in Stillwater, OK were due to the efforts of the WPA during the Depression in the 1930's. It gave people jobs, and the trees provided protein for people who couldn't afford meat.

Here in hot times I am not happy unless I have a big huge bowl of ice cream in the afternoon heat. Not that is sweet just thats its cool and creamy. I know that eating only raises your body temp. But it sure is nice and cool while eating it. Honey is always good and any fruit chichen cooked with real fire wood. But the thing I always dream of but have to learn how to make is Holinday suace for eggs bennedict. Happy eatting. Oats are always good as with rice and yes any cheese. Yhis thinking of food is making me hungry time to go fatten up. Bon Apetite! :)

My happy food is anything and everything that my mother cooks. It mostly consists of Filipiino food: caldereta (meat stew with vegeatles and tomato sauce), sinigang na karne (beef/pork meat in tamarind sauce. I love it extra sour!), giniling na karne (ground meat with diced carrots and potatoes), and lots more. I didn't know how much those foods made me happy until I stayed away from home for college. Oh, and dark chocolate =)

Sure pola, I would love to get together with you and I could ask my mom to cook a delicious meal for us. =) There is a slight problem though... I'm living miles from you LOL My mom is a great cook, even my aunt who's in Illinois did a long distance call at the middle of the night just to get her recipe! This probably explains why I get so big even after only a few days staying at my parents house =)

I'd guess you eat a balanced diet! No food is 'bad'. It's how it's eaten! I'm one of those annoyingly thin people that seems to eat all the wrong things! I say it's because my friends always see the chips at lunch not the salad at supper! I eat what I want, when I want, always have and always will and I don't worry whether it's 'healthy' or not. I know that over a short period of time it balances out. I usually only eat when I'm hungry and I always seem to know what my body needs. I guess being brought up in a family where nursing and health care is the main career you learn without realising. I'm a care-worker myself, one day I'll crave chocolate the next day I'll crave fruit. Some days I'll eat a lot others I'll eat very little! The only thing I'm strict about is eating breakfast! Even if I'm not hungry I'll make myself eat something. I know what I'm like if I don't eat and it depends on how active I am or have to be! As I've been the same 'ideal' weight most of the last 40 years only gaining when pregnant or losing if ill, I know I'm eating sensibly. I've also always been a Dog owner so exercise has been 'compulsory'! I think that's why I cant come up with any food that would make me happier than another. I just enjoy all my food.

It's not the same thing every time. Sometimes it's cheese or chocolate or ice cream or even a main course like spaghetti with white clam sauce. Yum. The mood changes, but the feeling is the same after eating whatever it is.

That would be tough, I like everytuing except high carb foods. But I think the thing I might not get bored with is cheese. I love beef, and all forms of protein except soy products ( because I found research showing how bad it is and the fact it can destroy my already shakey thyroid). I eat some form of cheese everyday whereas all the other things differ everyday. So cheese it is, and not the lowfat kind.

whatever junk food or fast food out there, I'm happy with those. (talking about hamburgers, pizza, salad, taco, sandwich, whatever) I'm getting sick of eating bowl of rice everyday, because I AM getting sick of it, and my tummy wants something TOTALLY different. My tummy right now wants some hamburgers and fries, and maybe some pizzas and fried chickens also. And NO, I will not spend too much money on expensive and high quality foods; as long as I can just fill my stomach with some cheap and junk food, I'm happy with that.

But peanuts by themselves don't actually make you fat (not unless you eat a kilo of it a day I guess). Peanuts have Monounsaturated fat that actually help in reducing your tummy fat. I'd say chocolates. LOTS of it.

hi polachicago, your question is interesting but seems difficult to answer. But will I like to eat fruits. When I sometimes visit my brother-in-laws parents because it is just a few meters away. They have lots of fruits. I would pick atis, orange, durian, makopa, tambis in one day and then made me wonder if my tummy would not be upset eating different kind of fruits just in one day. Well at home, we always have banana or mango. So i think I would be happy with any kinds of fruits. During christmas, what I love to eat are fruit salad and macaroni salad. REally that is always what I crave for on Christmas. Christmas is fast approaching and there would be grapes and apples in the markets. I would hope to buy some. Those fruits are very expensive here because they are imported from other countries. (I don't know if you know these fruits I mention because I used how it is called here. I don't know the english names of those)

If I could eat any food and stay healthy, well I would eat everything under the sun. But, to be more specific, I would eat fast food. I keep very fit and don't remember the last time I ate a hamburger and fries but I really like them. I would eat KFC, McDonalds, Wendy's, and Arby's all day long. I would upsize everything and these foods would make me happy.

I grew up watching Gilligan's Island, wondering why they didn't gorge themselves on seafood. I could live and be deliriously happy eating lobster, any fish, clams, oysters, mussels, any sheel fish at all. What the hell were the castaways thinking, eating maryann's cocnut cream pie? Are you kidding me? I would have any kind of lobster over dessert any day of the week.
