I just had to share this photo of my kitten, Whiskers, with all of you. I swear he is not happy unless he has squeezed himself into the smallest space available! He loves boxes, buckets, anything that has space for him to fit in. Do you have cats or other pets that like to squish themselves into seemingly impossible places? Please feel free to share. Hugs to all......Carryl

Awww---how sweet and yes kitties do seem to like to snuggle in tight fitting spots. My one kitty Kissy likes to sometimes hide under the bureau and how she manages it I don't know since she is rather, ummm....plump? with a chubby belly

LOL! That's too funny! Kitkat, Whiskers' sister, has somehow managed to find a way to get INTO the underside of the sofa. The only hole I can find is impossibly small. But knowing her crafty little butt, she probably folds herself in half. I swear she is double jointed!

That is just so adorable! What a cute little kitty. I wish I'd have gotten a picture of my only boy cat, Squirt, who happens to be huge and weights about 30 pounds, when he managed to somehow squeeze himself into a shoe box. He was kind of "hanging out" but, by golly, he fit his whole body into that box that was half his size!
My precious Sissy, my avatar kitty, who I lost three weeks ago tomorrow used to love to get into any little box she saw. She was a tiny cat but kind of chubby so it would always be so cute how she'd squeeze her fat little body in. She loved to duck down and we'd play "peek-a-boo".

Thanks for your kind words, Hon. Sissy was my baby and it was really heartbreaking losing her.
Maggie, I think how people feel about cats is much more important in determining their "worth" as human beings than their political leanings...lol! If someone were to agree with me 100% on every political issue but then came to my house and so much as gave my cats a dirty look they'd be on my sh1t list! All cat lovers all fine by me.

Well, well, WELL!
As I live & breed! LOL!
Annie, you & I may fall at opposite ends of the POLITICAL spectrum, but anyone who loves kitties as much as YOU obviously do can't be ALL bad. g r i n
Someone once said, "Well, even HITLER liked DOGS." And to THAT, another cat fan I know said, "Yeah, but those were DOGS." Implying that cats are more =discerning.=
Wink.

Thank you for posting the wonderful picture! It is hilarious that he chose a "Milk Bone" box to squeeze into.
I had gotten a 6 month old black cat for free. He was long and lanky with a fine bone structure and he never walked anywhere. He was a gift for my Mom...she had jury duty and our van was in the shop, so I happened to wander into a pet store and saw him and it was instant love. I located a box to carry him in and cut some holes in it so he could see and breathe. When my Mom walked up he was reaching around with his paw...She had this quizical look on her face when I told her "I got you something". Anyhow we got him home, let him out of the box, and the first thing he did was to curl up in the dish pan and take a nap. From then on he would nap in the dish pan...so we ended up naming him "Dish Pan Sam".
I am so appriciative of your post and the smile I got from it. I am waiting for the results of my CT scan of the mass on my left lung. I also have to get an ultra sound of my heart because my murmer got worse...so as you can figure I needed the smile. Thanks!

I'm so glad it's not cancer hon. I really hope you are feeling a bit better. As for your "blow up", those things happen. Sometimes we just need to get it out otherwise it just festers inside of us. Maybe what you said to those people made them stop and think. I hope it did anyway. Thanks for adding me as your friend hon.

I am sooo thrilled! It isn't cancer!!! I have had several episodes of pneumonia and there is some bad scarring at the top of my left lung. Apparently when I have any kind of infections it goes right for that scar tissue...so it will become a "mass" and alerts everyone. I just have to remember it for the next time it happens.
I find it is interesting that whenever I need a boost, I turn to myLot and I get the boost I need go keep going. I went to a meeting of our home owners association last night and got slammed by the president of the association. I stood up to the idiot and let the whole assemblage know what was going on. I think that I must have scared the holy you know what out of them because I have never been in attendance of one of those meetings where EVERYONE was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I said my peace and left, but this morning I am feeling rather depressed because I seldom blow up like I did, and what I informed the assemblage of was financial stuff of a personal nature. But it's out and so it's just waiting to see what happens. I did manage to keep myself restrained from calling the president of the association a "Jack A$$", I can be proud of that I guess. It was great getting home to my house full of animals...often they turn out to be better than humans!
I will be accepting you onto my friends list as soon as I post this...

"Mom? 'MILKBONE?!?' Did you get a d-d-DAWG? EEEUW??"
LOL! Adorable kitty, too-cute name!
Elic, a pal here on MyLot, calls kitties such as he "gizzindas," because he "gets into" things, especially boxes. She calls those who like to get UNDER things "gizzundas."
Thanks for sharing! (My kitty, "Miss Minnie," is in "my pix." Have you looked? I don't know how to put her up in discussions, or I WOULD!)

I just looked at your pics....Miss Minnie is sooooo cute! And yes, I do have 2 dogs, but they are outside. I did have an inside one that absolutely adored kitties. She wasn't happy unless she had at least one of my cats sleeping with her. LOL!

Oh your kitty is to to cute!! When I use to have cats they would find their way in all kinds of crazy places. I never understood that about cats. They always like to nap where it is dark and hide. I guess they don't like picked up by all the kids running threw my house.

Hi Carryl,
This is just so cute. My sister's cat Sabrina, loves to lay in board game boxes. Whenever we're playing a game, we have to make sure that there's a box set out for her. She'll squeeze herself in, not matter how small the fit.
My Anna Belle loves to crawl behind and under things. She'll wedge herself between the end table and the couch. She also hides away for a snooze, underneath my bedroom rocking chair. She's hard to reach back there, so she knows she won't be disturbed.
Hugs to you too.

I have 13 feline babies! Most people have herds of cattle or horses....not me...I have a herd of cats! Hahahaha! I'm doing pretty good. I'll have to be having back surgery pretty soon though. I'm pretty sure my tail bone got broken several years ago, and when I started losing the weight after the weight loss surgery the pain came back and it hasn't gone away. Believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to the surgery...anything to make the pain stop. But other than that, I'm feeling good and have more energy than I used to. How are you doing hon?

Just what is the facination with boxes and closed in areas that cats love? They seem to love the container that their toys came in better than the toy!! lol I've got a story to tell you. My mom had a siamese cat named Precious. She was something else, let me tell you!! She ordered my dad around all the time! He'd always say, "I can't even get a cup of coffee in the morning until I feed her" lol Or when he'd have one of his sneezing fits, continuously sneezing, Precious would start to protest and he'd tell her "Awwww shut up yourself!" and she'd protest some more!! They so loved one another and teased each other unmercifully. One day mom got home from grocery shopping and had a bunch of paper bags on the floor in which Precious got into one, dad saw her and reached down and closed the opening in a hurry which scared the hell out of Precious that she flew out of the bottom of the bag so fast that she left a quarter sized hole!! Not a big hole or one at least her size but a quarter sized hole!! It had to have scared the cr@p out of her for her to do that!! Of course, she wouldn't have anything to do with him for the rest of the night!! LOL Who could blame her? I wouldn't either if he did that to me!! Scare me silly and see if I want to be held or loved!! LOL

OMG! That is hilarious! Sounds like the relationship between my sister's cat Blackball and my dad. Blackball was blind, so things were always interesting with him around. They had this morning routine. Blackball would come in the door, my dad would shuffle his feet, and then Blackball would hiss. And then both of them would go about their daily business. It happened every morning like clockwork.

LOL I bet he wanted to let him know he was there to not step on him!! lol Animals are so much fun!! A lot of people would know that if they'd give them half a chance!! Even a sour prune would laugh at their antics!! They ask for so little and give so much....

maybe it feels like a den. like their wild cat form sleep in a lion's den, and the domesticated version sleep in a household version.

How cute is that? I once had a kitten who liked to get into my husband's shoe to sleep when we first brought her home - she couldn't have weighed more than a pound and a half and could sleep in the palm of my hand! My husband has very small feet - he still wears a boy's size 5 1/2 shoe, so it wasn't a good fit for very long. I still remember watching her approach one of his shoes when she was about six months old and try to get herself into it.. first one paw, then the other, then both paws at once - but of course, there was no way she could get more than her front paws into the shoe. She just looked so completely puzzled and more than a little bit miffed by the whole thing!

How funny! I bet she was sooooo disappointed that she couldn't fit anymore. My hubby has size 12 shoes, so my two little ones can still fit part way into them. It's hilarious to see them with their butts sticking out of his shoes. I'll have to try and get a pic of that if can. LOL

Cats are so funny. My parent's cat is like that, always having to be in things. Every time we go there she will lay on a little area rug and wait for my fiance to roll her up in it - the tighter the better. Then she waits for poor unsuspecting people or dogs to walk past so she can shoot out at them like a little furry torpedo!

That is so cute! Wouldn't you love to see into your cats make-believe world to see the fun of finding that purrfect hiding place? I have a cat also, who loves to hide in so pretty impossible places. There's a picture of one in my profile, if you'd like to go take a look. There sure are some days that I am envious, as I'd love to find a place to hide!
