I'm Interested as to How the World Will End

When I was young, I used to wonder the world will ultimately end. At that time, I was thinking of something really sci-fi like a meteor coming down and ending all life like it did with the dinosaurs (something I do not believe in anymore and consider too far-off and remote). Instead, I am thinking that the world will end by our own hands. Look at how life used to be simple without the advancements we are enjoying now. When technology took a quantum leap, man started to rape nature. During our early days we only killed what we needed, hacked only what we need and took only as much as we needed. Nowadays, our needs multiplied and became more demanding. As a result, we started to consume our natural resources in a frenzy. I believe that this will ultimately bring our demise. So what do you guys think?

I am very interested in this also but I don't think the world will end for another million years or so. I do think it will be environmental, caused by man. It is sad and the next lot of inhabitants of the earth won't know to take care of it just like we've only learnt now to take care of the planet. I hope one day we can find out what happened to the Earth before we came along.

Most of us hope for that. Let us just take care of ourselves and our world as much as we can. Cheers~

At my younger age, i thought the world's will end by the melting of ice due to pollution and increasing atmospheric temperature. Now i can say, we won't even exist till the whole polar ice melt. we will die with the bombs and nuclear war techniques. I think thats why all countries are looking for other areas in space for living.

Like I said, it will be our abuse of nature that will bring our end. Global warming can melt the ice in the polar ice caps. Cheers, and thanks for responding~

Well, stick around it is going to be a bumpy ride! Since I was in high school I can remember some finatic on a street corner spouting about the end of the world. Back in the sixties it was as silly as it is now. God knew this was going to happen. He is probably up there now laughing as I type this. Look what his little project did. And earlier than expected too.

There are lot of guys like that here as well. They'd ride on public transportation, and all of a sudden they will rant about how the world will end and their religion is the only one that will be saved. They seem to have this illusion that they have to save this world and that they are the ones that will make up God's 144,000 in Armageddon.

Hello Seishirox! When I was young, I thought the world will end at year 2000. My mom keep telling us stories about 3 days in darkness that really made me scared. I even told myself that time that if the world will end at year 2000, it would be very sad because I want to experience to go to college and experience to have my own life. Thank God that what my mom said is not true.

I think the year 2000 scare was because of a passage in the Book of Revelation that Satan will be unleashed after being chained for 2000 years in the Abyss, and that he will wreak havoc on earth after that. Three days darkness came from the Book of Exodus. Nah, our parents were just scaring us. The real scare about 2000 was when all computers are going to run errors because of the date but Microsoft already took care of that with new motherboards and BIOS systems. But, you couldn't deny that the end seems near nowadays right? That Hadron-something at CERN could cause us trouble.
