hi there. my friends told me again and again. that happiness is a choice. that once you wake up in the morning, you can just simply decide, that today, i will be happy. or is it a product of an event that leads to happiness? what's your point of view of this?

I think that happiness is a state of mind. Happiness is a selfish thing I think. It is felt when things go your way. Now what you want to go your way shows the character of the person. For me happiness comes when all things run in sinc. To be happy is to know all things are taken care of and all things run in harmony.

I think it is a bit of both. But I'm more of Happiness is a Choice believer. I think it is up to us to be happy and not easily get agitated with what life throws our way. It is up to us to know when to limit our expectations and dreams and goals and not get disappointed if things don't turn out the way we wanted them to. We have that ability to open our lives and hearts to things and people that will eventually give us that continuous warmth in our hearts. That being said, I think that some of life's events do impact one's happiness. Although we say that we can act on such things in more positive ways, I don't think it would be so easy to decide to go on a cheerful front when a loss has happened and such. I find that smiling in front of a mirror before I leave the house starts my day on a good note. It would be creepy at first but you'll get used to it.

i think it is a state of mind.if we are optimist,we can be happy in the small small things but if we tend to view everything negatively, then i think one can never be happy.

Happiness is absolutely a choice, but I cannot say that it works as fast as from the time you wake up to all of a sudden being happy all day that very same day that you make the decision. It is more of a life habit that you acquire over time. You might have to decide the night before to wake up and give happiness your best shot the first time and then try a little harder the next day. But I will say this--striving for even a little happiness is more productive than going around in the dumps...and dragging everyone else down too, don't you think?

In my opinion, happiness is really up to you yourself. So it is a choice you you. Everything has two different aspects, like "happy" and "sad", so you can choose the first or the previous, that depends on you. Anyway, if we can achieve to that state that be full of smile on your face all the time, you are so great!

hi . well i think happiness is definately a state of mind. you have to train yourself to be happy.if you get up in the morning with the attitude that it is a beautiful day, and thank GOD for letting you see it , pretty soon you won't even have to think about being happy, it will come naturally.if everyone practiced this , think what kind of world we would have.

I believe happiness is a choice. When something happened to you, you can actually decide how you react to it, you can choose to be happy or not, it's up to you. Well, I understand sometimes when something bad happened to you, you surely feel sad or upset. I tried before, if I think it's fine, it's okay, I just want to be happy, then I'll really be happy. and slowly, you can make it a choice. It's what you want yourself to be. ^_^ Have a nice day!!

Either one of them. Though being happy or to have happiness with your self is more of a choice. You decide and control your feelings. Though sometimes, environment can affect your emotions or feelings. So either of the two, in my own point of view.

I feel so happiness is a choice. You have to tell yourself to be happy, the moment waking up, telling oneself that I am happy. Had observed family members, the emotional state, if one is moody, or unhappy with something event/thing, the surrounding atmosphere will be affected. Happiness is related to state of mind and emotion.
