Brown skin or white skin?

There's a time that I wish I have fairer skin, than I have today. Because we can't hide the fact that here in our country (Philippines)being fair skinned is so imbued in our culture-and I can't just escape it.Or it maybe because of too much TV? I know that being beautiful, is being more comfortable.:) But do you also feel like wishing you have white skin rather than brown?

Hi amazingheart, I always dream to have a white skin when I was a kid..My Sister has a white skin and she looks very attractive! LOL! I have tried whitening lotion even when I was in College and hate to be walking under the sun without my umbrella..LOL! But, now, I learn to love and accept my skin..There is nothing I can do, at least I have a skin! LOL! ENjoy!

I don't worry much about my skin, lol. As if I have choice, no I don't use any artificial whitening over the counter, I just protect my skin exposing the sunlight, or use an SPF. Being beautiful with a white skin is also a media hype I guess :). But if I can only change my skin,or have magic to turn it white then why would I not dot that. But then again, I never have choice. I learn to appreciate things. :)

I don't pay much attention to my skin. I like all the colour of skin. I don't think the white have priority to brown skin. so every one should like their skin colour.lol happy mylotting.

i actually have a very fair complexion and i am also in the philippines...i am what people call mestiza...i remember feeling uncomfortable while i was growing up because of my skin color, or my appearance as a whole..i always wanted to have a darker skin tone but i was never successful...i've grown to accept things the way they are now...i guess wherever you go, people are always prejudice about everything, sometimes, it makes us feel that we're never gonna fit in because of this...until we grow up and realise it really doesn't matter...what really matters in what's inside us and who we really are...

well , i think no matter what colour of our skin , that's not important , the earth is a big family , we can live in harmony , don't so care about it , we have the wisdom , courage , determination , we can win a lot of people , we can be pleasure `` so friend , i have never thought of that any more , so encourage you and your around , so stop thinking about these silly things , to spend the more time in your works , you can be better than now `` so , my opinion for you , do not so mind of that , you will have a nice future , friend `` Merry Christmas ```` ~_~

Being fairly looking really makes lady more comfortable, but for the ones that are not so fair, but tried to make themselves fair, that where the problem is, sometimes they over stretch the skin and it really gets bad

I have always been fair skinned but my thoughts on the color of skin are this - No matter what color your skin is it makes no difference for under that skin we are all the same - HUMAN.

Sometimes, but not really. And what are you talking about you have very beautiful skin. Some girls would kill to get a tan like that. There is a saying the grass is always greener on the other side but I don't think so. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

When I was younger I used to envy my classmates who have fair skin. I have brown skin but not so dark but I prefer it when my skin looks fairer just like the other girls in school. But when I grew older I looked at brown as beautiful. I love brown skinned girls today. I love the Filipino skin which is light brown. I find it beautiful.

Our skin plays an important role in our body.As a matter of fact, our skin do have melamine that protects us from the heat from the sun that can cause skin cancer. And according to research, brown skin contains more melamine than white skin. So it means that brown skin can be more helpful to us. I prefer to have brown skin rather than of white skin. :-)

I like my white skin and would much rather have my more fair complexion rather then getting a tan or going tanning. First off I wouldn't want to try and spend money to give myself unnatural beauty. I like the look of my white skin and I think it contrasts well with my black hair. I think that the definition of beautiful is an open ended word in which anyone can be beautiful as long as they believe that they are. I think that beauty really lies with in confidence and how you carry yourself or at least that's what I've been told.

I wish I have white skin... but never tried any skin whiteners due to my fear of any side effects of using those stuff. Well, I don't mind at all if I have brown skin. Sun-kissed skin the trend today.

I think everyone often wishes for what they don't have. I'm a blonde, with light skin (I burn easily in the sun) and blue eyes. My hair is very thick, wavy and curly. Yet I've always wished I was dark skinned, had dark silky hair and beautiful brown eyes. Apparently we aren't always happy with what we are born with. I guess all we can do is learn to live with what we are born with.

I'm fine really with the skin I have. I'm white, but I do tan pretty dark in the summer. I don't understand why so many phils want to be fair skinned. My fiance is like that. She thinks she looks bad dark. I think it looks really nice. Phils should just be themselves. Nothing wrong with being dark skinned.

I don't have a problem with that. If I want to be fair skinned, I wait for winter and if I want to be darker I wait for summer, because that's what happens. Right now I'm fair in complexion. When it starts heading towards summer, my skin tone changes to a dark complexion. Don't know why it just does.
