Do you make a living by writing?

I have just started to earn an income from writing this year. I also know people who make a living by writing, but I still have some way to go before my writing can sustain me financially. I am getting there, and I know that by this time next year my income will be much greater. I have been writing for myself all my life, and I have worked in publishing, so I had a good background to begin with. I have been able to adapt and improve my writing skills and I continue to learn about writing for the internet, as this is my main source of income from writing. I write every day and it is a pleasure for me to do so. I would not recommend it for someone who does not enjoy writing, researching, and marketing their work.

I only make extra money by writing but not make a living.I would like make a living by trade forex, this maybe earn much more money than writing I thnink.

I am trying to, but I am still very far away from making as much as I would like to from writing. I admire those people that are able to make a living just from that.

No, I don't live on writing. I have other sources on which I live. In fact, I am writing only on mylot. I don't have much time to go to other site. as a matter or fact, I have free internet during night time, Its difficult to awake during night time, so I choose only to work on mylot for 2 hours.

I have been making money by writing online. I have been doing this fro almost a year. I am not where I want to be in terms of my earnings but I am getting there. I have a few blogs and I write online for a site. I love being online and sharing with others what I learn. That is why I am on mylot, I mean the money is a factor but I get ideas here and I like to learn and help others while I am here as well. I have found that many people are trying to find ways to make extra income online and mylot is a great place to share what it is that one might do to make some extra money. My goals for the year is to build my online writing and start doing some freelancing on the side too. Great post and happy mylotting.

I am just enjoy writing but not rely on it. And since there are so many writers nowadays, to make a living by writing is very difficult. However writing has a lot of fun and I guess I will keep on writing when I have something to say. Good luck.

No, I can't make a living by writing. I love writing, so it would be nice if I could actually make a living by doing it, but I don't think that is realistic. My dreamlife would be a life where I could do the two things I like to most (=writing and painting) and make enough money to pay my rent I plan on writing more in the future and I would also like to write a couple of novels, but even if I get my things published it would still be an extra income and not my main income.

I'm learning about copywriting. That's where the big money comes in, the six-figure income writing.

I am into part-time writing.. I have a main job during daytime. But I love to write, that is why I am into it as well.. =)
