Santa Sleighed by a Slack Sack - Part 2

Santa was in a fix. His sack was caught in the sleigh track and they were stopped high above Australia. If he didn't free the sack soon he would miss Christmas Eve. He knew that Eve loved Christmas more than anything and was a most exacting mistress. She would expect him to deliver those gifts to all the boys and girls. He started to climb back over the sleigh. His tummy, swollen with a surfeit of mince pies and plum pudding seemed to have a life of its own; pulling him perilously close to the edge of the sleigh. If he were to fall he it would be to his certain end. Only the reindeer could fly. All that Santa could do was fall. He peered over the edge and tried to extend an arm down to the loose sack. "Nearly" he grunted. Just a little more reach and......down Santa went. Tumbling at first, then settling in a belly flop downwards, as if a magnet had locked on to that last mince pie and was pulling him down. He saw the ground rising up towards him and closed his eyes. Chimneys, millions of them filled his mind. He saw the children looking out of their windows, unseeing as the red, rotund man hurtled on ground wards. His final sight was of Mrs Claus and the elves anxiously waiting for his return and wondering where he was. Then, swiftly, silently and magically he was rising again. He dared to open one eye. It was true! He was going upwards again! Hot, grassy breath wafted about his neck. Looking back he found himself gazing into his saviour's eyes. "Donna", he exclaimed. They drew to a halt and he found himself once again level with the sack. He reached out and moved it back into its place in the sleigh. He was gently replaced in his seat and he watched as his newest reindeer returned to her place in front. "On Lady and Gentleman" cried Santa; "We have work to do and no time to waste". Donna had saved the day.
Now remember boys and girls. When you leave your stockings out tonight, leave an extra fresh carrot. I think Donna deserves it. Don't you. Have a very Merry Christmas wherever you are and whoever your God is or isn't.

Very well written p1ke, you had me on the edge of my seat waiting for Santa to belly flop to the ground and then there would be no more Christmas toys delivered for the "good little boys and girls".. I applaud Santa for also honoring the newest addition to his team, finally Donna was noticed for the good that she was bringing to the team.. All is well that ends well.. Great one p1ke, Merry Christmas to you and yours..
My 2 cents, Happy Birthday to my Reason for the Season, and I thank God for the "Night of my Dear Saviors Birth"..
Have a Wonderful Christmas everyone..
