It is christmas eve, two more hours til midnight, here in Quebec, we celebrate the reveillon on the eve of christmas and new years, I never missed one when I was growing up, or first married. There is a big celebration, french catholic people go to midnight mass, they come home to eat a big meal, and open the presents, and they dance all night into the wee hours of the morning. Now I am sitting her all by myself with my two cats, my son went to a friend's house, I have no idea what time he will come home. NOrmally my family does call at midnight to wish me a merry christmas but last year I don't remember if they did or not. It just feels strange being here alone in the house with even the cats sleeping. Do you have any special activities going on Christmas eve? Do you have lots of family around you on Christmas Eve?

Nothing happening here in my place either. My roommate is working and I am alone on the computer with all my friends on the lot. All those food discussions got me hungry and I need to raid the fridge to see what I can munch on.

My son has gone to a friends house for now. Here in Texas it is three more hours until midnight. Tonight it was my son, my husband and myself here. My daughter and my grandson will be coming Saturday and will stay until after the new year then they will head back so he can get back in school. Tomorrow we will have a Christmas dinner for the three of us. Have a good evening and Happy Holidays.

Well, We usually have a dinner on Christmas Eve for the whole family..And we did. My feet hurt so bad from standing all day and from cooking. I made two homemade pies and my husband bumped one while it was cooling and splat it hit the floor...lucky they was also a chocolate cake since I only made two pies. It is peaceful right now..it was so noisy earlier. Now the silence is bliss. Now Today, It will just be me and my husband and alot of cleaning up to do.. Happy every year..I get stuck with clean up duty alone. But it was nice that the family got together with only one tiny squibble that was fast put to rest. So I am wishing you a Joyful day today and hope that you have a good day and lots of visits from family and friends.

you should make that family of yours to help out cleaning, they ate a good meal they didn't have to buy or cook then they can clean up as well.

we went to bed before 10 last night, do we do anything? Nope, we already opened presents, so we're just getting together to eat today.

Christmas eve now seems to be time spent getting ready for the next day, last minute shopping, getting the house ready. I am in Ohio now, it is so different from being in Louisiana, there everyone was partying and visiting others. Then midnight mass. Here people more or less just spend it getting ready for christmas. I did get a couple calls from down there last night, friends that I miss. This relocation has been hard on all of us. When you leave Louisiana it is like you left a whole different world. Well it is Christmas now and will be a long day with going to my daughter's house and eating and opening gifts. And then tomorrow comes and it is all over.Everyone goes back to the regular grind, where as in La, they celebrate on into the new year. Please have a safe and merry christmas.

Yes in ways I wish I was still there but now I have all these medical problems and in Louisiana I was not entitled to any help as my husband draws $700. a month in disability and that is too high for me to get any medical help. But here in Ohio I am, so we are better off up here. And better iff not having to fight the storms anymore. Was just a huge change in how we had been living.

Sorry being late to respond. My Christmas Eve was normal as usual except my husband had to work that night. I had to play Santa all by myself, which wasn't fun at all. I didn't realise until a couple of days later, that my youngest noticed that I accidently left his "Santa Paper". She was like cool, Santa left wrapping paper at my house. So to keep the spirit of Santa alive for another year. I said yea, he dropped the gifts off with the wrapping paper and told me to wrap them. I didn't get a lot of sleep, and it wasn't the kids that kept me up. It was Chloe our new Basset puppy that kept waking every 4 hours. During the day, we really didn't have a lot of people over at my house. Mainly, my family lives about 2 hours from me and his famil lives on the west coast. The girls opened gifts and got ready, once my husband got home from work. We loaded everything up and went to my parents for Christmas dinner and to open more gifts. That's basically what happens every year, except my husband is normally at home to write thank you for the cookies and milk from the girls.

I used to have a huge family, 7 sisters and 2 brothers along with my mother, my mother-in-law, our son and numerous nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.. I really came from a big family and everyone would gather at my mothers house for a little while and then to my mother-in-laws house for awhile, then home to receive visitors, but all of that has changed.. About 4 years ago, one of my sisters started so much trouble that it tore my family apart and I have only spoken to 2 sisters in the last 4 years, then my mother-in-law passed away, then my mother passed away, then my son married and moved out, so now we are alone except for the 2 sisters on my side as the ones on his side live so very far away that we can't see them except for occasionally.. We have just got back home from visiting one of my my sister's, her husband, her 2 children and the 3 grandchildren and then tomorrow our son and his wife will come to visit for awhile, we are planning breakfast and gift opening.. For Christmas dinner, we will be going out to eat, since by then it will be just the 2 of us that are going to eating dinner.. Tomorrow evening we are going to make a big Winter supply of hot tamales and then the next morning, it will hopefully be back to normal.. I do wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope that this New Year brings you so much better luck.. Have a Very Merry Christmas Winterose and keep the faith, things will get better, I have my fingers crossed for your good luck in the New Year..

Hi Carol, Bah Hum Bug! lol That's what I say about Christmas. I honor Christ's birthday but that is as far as I go. Usually my hubby goes up north for Christmas day, but that has been called off this year because of the terrible weather. They may have it next week. I'm here at the computer, as usual. My hubby just went for a quick nap and I'm sure most of the dogs will be napping in a bit. I'll just be glad when all this stuff is over. Happy MyLotting! Char

I do hope that they did call you my friend. I was busy making preparation for Christmas lunch so after this I was exhausted. I rested for a while before attending the midnight service at church. It was work really. I had t work until 4 pm and then I realised that I needed medications. Got very chaotic. Happy New Year when it comes my friend. Blessings
