Everywhere you go people are always on the phone anymore. What did they do before the cell phones. I'm not a phone person myself, the only time I use the phone is to talk to my mom once a week and to call my house before i come home from work to see if we need anything on the way home. I see people on the bus that talk for the whole bus ride. I wouldn't know what to talk about that long. How about you?

I'm not really a phone person. I might make one or two calls a day if that. I hardly ever use my cell phone. I know of some people who are always on the phone and they aren't even talking about anything important. For me I have too many other things I could be doing than talking on the phone.

I personally see people walk by with a phone attached to their ear and an hour later walk by still on the phone..whats up with that?..Most young ones can't go without and i never was one that liked to hang out on the phone..I'd rather be with the person and talk that way..its like they feel they will miss out on something if they don't call every 5 minutes..someone came into my store talking away and after about 15 minutes came up to the counter and asked me why i wasn't helping them..I said i didn't have her phone number!

That's to funny, When the phone rings at work i never answer it and the receptionist is always mad at me when she's in the restroom or away from the phone and i don't answer it. I always tell her I don't know which button to push. Which is true, it's 1 of those switchboard phones.

I'm not a big phone person myself. I rarely talk on the phone unless it is someone that I want to talk to or someone that I have to talk to like family but that's about it. I usually use my phone to text more than I use it to actually call someone. I just can't believe some people can spend that much time on the phone.

That's another thing i don't understand, why text when you can just call. Isn't texting to much work looking at those little letters?

I really don't wanna be a phone person but because of works I do, I have to admit that I could be perceived as a "phone person"... I have 2 jobs & one of them are in retail stores... I do sales but I ended up on road a lot & I get a lot of phone calls... I also do translation job... I get a lot of phone calls from them as well... For those reasons, I have unlimited calling plan on my cell phone...

Hey missy! Again, I agree with you! I can't stand when people talk on the bus! I don't understand what they can possibly have to talk about for an entire bus ride. I am on the bus for at least 45 minutes and I have seen people get on when I do and are still talking when I get off! If I do talk on the phone it is when I get home on my landline. It is unlimited for a flat rate. I do not use my cell phone except for emergencies or if I am meeting someone or have to speak to my bf when I am out. I certainly don't want to talk when I am on the bus. I don't have anything that important to say and wouldn't waste the money!

Hello Missybear, I am the same way I am not a phone person either. The only reason I got a cellphone was because I worked 18 miles from home and I was traveling late at night. I have a monthly plan and I never use any of my minutes. I don't even get that many calls on my home land line phone.

My conversations especially on cell phone are usually short. They are similar to this conversation : "Hello, who is it? What do you want? Ok Bye I used to stay for long hours talking to my fiance before marriage however nowadays that we have been married she always gives me some tasks to finish off. So when she calls it means that she needs something to be done most of the times.

That sounds like me short and sweet. Most of the time i just let the phone ring and see what kind of message they left. then i call back later. Maybe.

I don't particularly like to use the telephone. I don't have a cell phone, and I hardly ever use my phone now that I have cable internet. Sometimes I even turn it off for a day or two so that I don't have to talk to anyone. I hate being interrupted to answer the phone, especially since most calls are from telemarketers.

No being a phone person is WRONG! Totally wrong. For instance, you're walking in the sidewalk talking to someone on the phone and then you were bumped by a man. You ignored it and got on the bus. When you're about to pay you discover your wallet missing. Being a phone person means that you're half or less than half aware of your surroundings. I only hold the phone once a week to call my mom from the dormitory.

Well, I have a phone but I don't really use it a lot. I mean, I do but only when I need to call someone. And I sometimes play Tetris on it when I am bored and don't have anything better to do at the moment. Its kinda funny. Once you get a phone you can't live without it but than its already to late. I mean, I got my first phone when I was about 16 or 17. But I only got it because most of my other friends had one to. Back than I didn't really need it and now I can't imagine my life without one. :/

I'm the same way missy. I 'm no phone person. I see people driving and talking, working with one held between their shoulder and head. I don't know what they have to talk about that long either. My grandfather used to say if your talking on the phone for more than 30 minutes then your talking about something you shouldn't be.

I'm not much of a phone person either. The only reason I have one is so my family can reach me other than that I talk to people all day long at work, it's not really something I want to do while I'm at home all the time. Don't get me wrong if I haven't talked to an old friend in a while I will talk for a good hour but it's few and far between.

i am not a phone person generally.. i just talk to my buddies for few minutes. mostly that includes.. how are you.. whats new.. and where shall we meet.. but sometime back.. i found a girl whom i really liked to talk and spoke to her endlessly for hours and hours... every night for like 6 to 7 hrs continuously. this went on for a month maybe.. i paid huge amounts for my phone bill.. then the problem began.. i started really liking that girl and wanted to go to the next stem.. but to my surprise she was like she wanted me just like a friend and nothing more... so i stopped talkin to her... end of story...

I have never been much of a phone person, and still don't like to talk on the phone as much as I like to instant message or email. When we travel my husband and I do buy a disposable phone, for safty reasons. I do find I talk to my siblings on the phone more now, also to my children and grandchildren as we are becoming more and more scattered across the United States. I really dislike hearing other people talking on the phone while in the doctor's office, and especially in eating places. They always seem so loud.

I definitely am not a phone person. I don't like to talk; but I like writing and e-mailing. When I was dating, I spent so much time talking to my boyfriend, that when we saw each other, there was nothing left to say. Luckily, we spent half the evening in a theatre where you don't have to talk, and the other half in a restaurant where our mouths were kept busy eating. When I worked for the Phila. District Attorney's Office, I had to answer a call-director with 30 lines! In the Phila. Dept. of Human Services, I had only a few lines, so it wasn't too bad. At home, I have 2 phones - my father's and mine. I usually try to answer my father's in case it's about a medical or insurance issue, but if I'm making a meal, I don't bother, unless he is expecting a call. Then I have to call the person back, which is a worse chore for me, being I still don't like phones. I see people driving cars and have one hand on the wheel and the other with a cell phone on their ear. I wonder how they can concentrate on driving! Maybe that's why there are so many accidents. A few times when my computer went crezy, I spent a few hours calling first the phone provider, then Dell; they walked me through how to solve the problem. When I finally hung up, I screamed! I have a life-long best friend who lives by herself, so every morning, we take turns calling each other. We spend up to an hour talking - we are each other's therapists, so to speak! When I finally get off, my father and husband ask me what we find to talk about so long? We tell each other what we did the day before, our troubles; discuss plans, economics and/or politics/world news, anything of interest. If I don't hear from her, and she didn't tell me she couldn't call due to an appointment, I worry (she has a heart condition that could cause fainting); and vice versa. Finally, I really was glad when cell phones were invented. Lots of times, while coming home from work, the public transport (elevated train) broke down. I had to find a public phone to call my parents that I would be home later on so they would not worry. Then when I bought a cell phone, and there was a transportation delay, I whipped out the cell phone and didn't have to find a public phone.

Public Phones are getting fewer and fewer you right. I'm fortunate to have a couple right by my bus stop in case I need to call home. Thank you for your nice responds.

I am personally not one to be on the phone all of the time. I do have a cell phone that I use once in a while when I get time for it. It is one of those prepaid ones. But for right now I am not a person that needs to be constantly calling anyone or being on the end of another person's call. You are right. There are people everywhere just talking away on these cell phones. I myself do remember a time long ago before people even were mobile with their own cell phones out in the public view.

Me on the phone - it's very pixelly... I didn't know how to use the webcam on my computer well yet.
I am most definitely a phone person! I am a teenage girl too.. so that may fit into why I love the phone so much. It's so convenient to find out what your friends are doing or to get in touch with someone fast. I use it to text mostly and keep in touch with my other friends.
