Well I had let my face grow rampant for a couple weeks due to the cold and being l;azy. After shaving my dad and cutting his hair I decided to do mine as well. I feel much better but man is my head ever cold now with the 24 below zero windchills we have today. I hate when I shave my head though as my stocking caps do not go on easily and they are even harder to remove due to the stubbles on my head. So men, how often do you shave in the cold months of winter? Do you like keeping your face covered in warm whiskers or not? Do you shave your head or keep it standard length or long etc? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Grandpa Bob, I am one of those guys that has to shave my face every day. I feel so uncomfortable if I don't shave. It is such a habit already that if I don't have any plans on going out of the house at all I will still shave, hahaha.

I can tell you how often my husband shaves! Every day, or he would be minus a wife. And, he keeps his hair cut like a man. He still has lots of hair and I sure would not want him to shave it - another way to get me to leave. But I don't worry. He doesn't like to go unshaven (his grandkids would have something to say!), and he sure would not shave his head.

I gave up paying so much for a haircut. So I started shaving it all off basically a couple years ago. I and my wife like it this way actually. 4 years ago I had hair down to the middle of my back and it was costly taking care of it with the shampoos and conditioners and other various hair care products I used to keep it neat, clean, shiny and manageable. Oh you would have hated my hair then. It was very long and not trimmed at all. Just long but nice looking though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My idea of a neat haircut for a man is short, above the ears and just a manly cut. The grandsons wear these long bangs down to their eyes which isn't good for their skin, but they all cut the back! They want that cut short, but you don't get those bangs above the eyebrows much! And her youngest, who turned 13 today, has LOTS of hair, very thick, and it is curly if not kept cut. And his bangs can be up above the eyebrow a little today when he gets it cut and, next week, it will be curled up an inch, I kid you not! That kid's hair grows so quick! The oldest is the same way, but he's 20 and usually keeps his cut more. The middle boy, who is 15, has thin blonde hair, and he wears his the same way, but it doesn't get to looking bad as quickly as the younger one.

I had a great Holiday Seasonm actually. I took off from myLotting for 8 days as well. I was getting burnt out from here and that was the perfect time to take a much needed break. I have tons of photos for new discussions as well this coming week. Only a couple about the Holidays though. Weather has been way to nasty here the past month to say the least. My hubby does not shave his head, but does go in for hair cuts. He does grow a beard in the winter time to keep his face warrm. But when it starts to warm up again he will cut it off.

As a teen my face (chin) got burned and hair doesn't grow fully so I can't really grow a full beard. I have a large cyst on my upper l;ip so I have hade a mustache for years on end to cover the lump. I hate the mustache in the winter as it freezes up badly with the snow and moisture from breathing when I am outdoors doing snow shoveling etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

webe, can you not have the cyst taken off? Then you could save your mustache. I wonder if it is sort of what I had on the side of my face. And a friend had one on her lip. It was the little sac down in the skin that filled and had to be taken out, since just removing what was inside would not completely get rid of it. They have to remove the sac, too. Mine was on the lower part of my left check, near my lower jaw bone. I put a poultice on it once, and it drew all the matter out. It was terrible. But, later, it came back even worse. I finally had a plastic surgeon to remove it all. That's been many years ago and mine has never come back. My friend's never came back, either.

Great to see you back on Mylot and it's great to be back myself also. I hope you had a happy new year. Sorry the weathers very cold and I am sure you do feel it with you short haircut. It really does look well though. I think in the winter I can barely bring myself to shower some nights as it is very cold and is unbearable. I am sure you men need all the warmth you can get with letting your hair get longer as us women I suppose are lucky as we have longer hairstyles. Its great to be back to normal on Mylot. The break was great and Christmas was quiet, but enjoyable.

I can only imagine it sticking to the stuble on your head. As long as it does not hurt when taking it off though.

Heehee, I do not shave my head but I guess it would be cold. I have a trick for you my new dog Daisy may cannot keep a sweater on because it slides off. I put a little tee shirt on her and then the sweater on her and the sweater stays in place. The sweater sticks to the tee shirt and she needs two layers or she shivers all the time. Have you tried using a pair of whitey tighties on your head first then your stocking cap? This may work. LOL, heehee

I am not a man and I don't shave my face or head but man there are times I do wish it was that simple with the head and hair. When I was bald due to chemo treatments my head would get really sore, hurting in places, then the next day there would be a few new hairs growing back in. I don't guess it is the same way when it grows back in after you shave your head does it?

I tend not cut my hair during the winter because wherever the length of hair is removed my neck or back or ears get cold. Plus I've been letting my hair grow out for the last two years - first at my sisters request for her wedding and then my boyfriend informed me he really liked it long and could i let it grow longer. I'll be cutting it in june at the relay for life however for cancer. Since i'm a girl...i dont shave my face. OMG littlest hobo is back on tv. But I still shave my legs regularly and i notice that it always seems colder outside right after i do that.

I just cut my man's hair and beard last night, he was getting so wooly..lol. I don't how long it had been since he cut it, but its gets thick and curly after awhile, then it starts driving him nuts because it gets itchy, and thats when its time to cut it. He usually wears a mustache and goatee, but this time he said to take it all off..lol. In the summer he might shave his head, but in the winter we cut it real short, because his hair grows fast.

Hey Grandpa Bob! Well don't you look all nice and handsome now! I do understand that the whiskers must have kept you warm though! And with that temperature you need all the help that you can get! We had a couple of those below zero wind chills and I thought I would die! I can't take that kind of biting chill! It hurts! Nothing makes it feel better and even when you go inside it takes awhile for the pain to go away! I am staying in on those kinds of days as much as I can! I try to do my errands on the slightly less horrificly chilly days! But, there are some days that I just can't avoid going out into the cold snowy air and I hate it! Oh well!

My youngest son was just complaining the other day because we made him get a haircut before Christmas. He kept saying "Mom when I get sick from this you'll be the one to blame!" Well he didn't get sick but he sure looks a whole lot better! LOL Oh by the way I see your weather is headed my way tomorrow night. Temperatures are taking a plunge again! Thanks a lot! LOL

Good for you. I had never made my son get haircuts when he was youing. Mainly because I had very long hair myself then. It was down to the middle of my back most times. Yeah this morning I had to clear my end of the driveway of 2 feet of nasty hard snow that was plowed over it and the winchill was -25F. Brrrr! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

When my husband became paralyzed in '83 he had a beautiful head of hair. After the accident we tried to keep him as active as possible so except for the wheelchair no major changes were made to our routine. After several years his health began to fail and he had to spend more and more time in bed. Trying to care for his hair properly when he was bedridden was problematic at best and it never looked good because it was always matted up from laying on it. He finally had the idea to shave his head to make it easier to keep clean. I have to say it was a big relief. He didn't look bad bald either.

Dad has been living with me for 5 years now. Luckily he has yet to get to be to the point of being bedriodden. As lazy as he is I am surprised he isn't already now. He doesn't even like walking to the kitchen table to eat. So lazy he prefers to eat in his electric lazy boy chair. Ugghh! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi grandpa bob Happy new year to you and your family members. I do shave my face daily. If I don't shave on any day, that day I will be feeling very lazy. I do have my Hair cut every month.I don't keep long hair.If my hair cut is overdue, again I will feel myself some uneasiness. The daily shave and monthly hair cut habits are the results of my Defence service. Though I left defence, some twenty five years back, still I have those good habits.

I am a woman but married to a man LOL. My husband likes to keep his hair cut short in the summer but lets it grow out a little bit in the wintertime. He stays closely shaved and I am so glad. He does not have much facial hair anyway.

Hello Grandpa Bob. It is very cold now indeed. When I work, I shave my beard every other day. But it is days that I don't have to work, I am just lazy and let it be till I think that I need to because I will probably go out somewhere. Take care.

I am a 24 year old college student and I am still living with my parents. My bread grows back fast but because I may get razor bumbs which aren't worth it to me, I rarely shave myself. The last time I did was probably in 2007. My mother bothers me about it and my hair so I go to a barbershop every 2-3 weeks. My hair is kept short which I am tired of so when I get the chance (maybe when I move out), I am going to let it grow long.
