WAH job. The owner of the company I work for has passed away. There has been no real work to speak of since just after Thanksgiving. And I haven't received my latest check. So sad. Legit companies being hard to find, this will be a challenge. Would you stick with a company but find other work anyway, hoping they can get their act together?

If I really liked the company, I think I would stick with the company, but in the interim look for something else just in case. Your prior owner's assets are probably going through probate is the reason you probably have not received your check. Do you know for sure that someone else is going to continue with the company?
I would love to find a WAH job, since I am unemployed and haven't been able yet to find a job.
Hopefully, they get their act together and you can continue with the company.

I would try to give them a chance yes, but I would also be out looking for a new job for just in case I have to get another one so I will have it lined up so I won't have to worry about being jobless. With 2 kids it is not something you want to be right now. What does WAH mean?

There is no shame in you finding another company. Loyalty is one thing, but you have to survive just like the rest of us, so you can't wait forever for them to get their act together. If I were you, I would try freelancing your skills for a little while, just to give the company you were with time to get themselves together. This way, you haven't truly left them, but you are bringing in money too.

Too bad to hear that.Currently the company i am involved at is doing pretty fine.NO signs of getting banckrpt or anything like that. But we did certain precautionary measures in terms of sacing money for the company. We stopped hiring, but the good thing is no one got lay-offed their jobs. But if ever i feel that the company im with is starting to get into financial trouble,i will definitely go pack my things and find a stable company to work with, which of course would be difficult especially nowadays because of the sudden drop of the worlds economy.Guess i'll save incase i need to fee myself for a month or two while job hunting.but never the less,i believe that our company is doing good and we will pass through these economic difficulties in good condition.
Hope something good will develop for you this next days, especially in your career.

My wife has had a hard time finding legitimate work at home jobs. I wouldn't know where to look. I always expect someone to be out to cheat or swindle me. I gave MyLot a chance and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.. so it stays. Not really motivated, however, to try another site.

Maybe when they get everything handed over to a new owner/manager, then the payment may come through..
Have you sent an email enquiring about your payment?
(I assume that's when they told you the owner passed away...) Maybe ask if they have a vague idea when your payment will come through
Keep looking for othe options and hope they'll pay you I suppose..
