I delete my cookies about once every week or so. I think it helps my computer run faster. What about you? How often do you delete yours?

I do this on a daily basis after every Internet session. Like you, I find that this helps increase the performance of my computer in terms of speed. There are a few other tools that I also use, things like Event Viewer and Internet Options not to mention the Disk Defragment utility as well as the disk cleanup utility. There are a lot of things that you can do that will benefit your computer. Good luck. Andrew

I delete my cookies a few times a week. Yes it certainly keeps the computer running faster and cleans it up a little. I think some people though, never do this. This includes my friends, who look at me as if I talk rubbish to them. Well I am only trying to help them, so it's there loss.

Hi, I don't delete cookies at all. My computer runs really slow sometimes so may be I should. Could somebody tell me how to do this please and explain what effect this will have on the sites that you need cookies enabled for? Many thanks.

once every fortnight. It helps increase the speed of the browser because as the number of cookies increase sites start predicting too many things and try to give you what you might want before you want it and thus get late.

the only thing deleting your cookies are good for is so that if your computer gets hacked they cant steal anything. Its always good to delete them after internet banking.

I rarely delete my cookies, I use those for a lot of sites to save my log-in information...I can't be bothered to have to re-type it every time I visit _

It actually does depend on what sites I have been visiting and the importance of the information on it. For example if I was checking my paypal account then I would not have any other windows open at the same time. Then as soon as I had logged out of paypal, tghen I would delete the cookies immediately. I do that mainly for securiy purposes and although I have a good anti-virus program etc, I just feel it is better to be safe with personal information than have reason to regret it later. In general though I delete the cookies every day or so one I have loogged out of everything because it does make my old computer go faster, or at least that seems to be the case. Also depending on what I am saving to the hard drive etc, I also defragment the disk on a regular basis. In many ways I do not know a lot about computers but I know enough to protect my personal and confidential information. For now that is enough for me but it does surprise me the number of people who do nothing to clear the rubbish of their hard drive and speed it up a bit.

I delete the cookies once a week. I ran CCleaner which is a good programme to deleted cookies and makes sure that your sytem is in order. I just ran it once a week to make sure that the system is tuned up but I don't bother to delete cookies othewise. (c) ronaldinu 2009 - the more people I meet-the more I love my dog

I do mine once a day, unless I open a lot of sites. I do keep the ones with the passwords on them as I do not like to enter passwords all the time, but the ones for just visiting sites I will get rid of. And every month or so I go through the sites I was a member of and quit, and delete any left over cookies. I think it does make a difference in your computer running faster. I guess you are talking about emptying the cache, yes?

It is just that I am impatient. I want my browser to load up like instantly, and even if I only have a few cookies, anything that makes it slow down even to one sixteenth of a second is way to slow for me. Now if I could find a way to spend up myLot loading, I would be even happier.

I try to delete my cookies every day. My computer was getting a lot of viruses on it and I was told to make sure I delete the cookies everyday. Even a few times a day is a good idea.

I used to have my computer set up to delete cookies every time I closed Firefox, but I got tired of having to constantly re-enter my passwords on things. So now I have to do them manually. I need to set up which cookies to not delete and go back to having the others delete every time I close Firefox because I keep forgetting to delete them. I would say I remember every few days.

I think that is probably a good idea, though, I do not do it as much as I did once, or should. It can mess up logins for somethings that I would rather not make a big effort to figure out the password for.

It definitely helps your computer run faster. I have mine set up to delete every time I close my browser. I also run the disc cleanup tool and defrag my hard drive at least once a week.
