Can The Internet Be Bad For Your Health?

There have been many professional case studies that have suggested too much internet use can be dangerous to a person's overall health. Man doctors have concluded that computer monitors can cause eye problems, and also can have an effect on the central nervous system. All of these assumptions have made me come to wonder if all of this is a bunch of nonsense or is it factual. Where would our world be today if it were not for the men and women who have spent countless hours studying and devoting time to science and the arts? So, can the internet truly be bad for your health?

I believe Internet can be bad for your health if not used wisely. I admit, I am one of those people who are really addicted to Internet. But, in my case, I see it a point that I exercise and rest my eyes if it's too straining. Obesity is one of the risks that Internet can bring. I suggest that before you go in front of your computer, at least 30 mins. of walking every morning or a little warm up to burn calories. Also, eat nutritious foods especially foods that are good for the eyes. And hydrate your self with 8-12 glasses every day.

Most excellent recommendation, it is very important to drink plenty H2O and to take a break or two if you are working on lengthy projects.

Well I guess so because personally I noticed of having a poor eye sight since using a lot and being in the internet for years now. However, I don't think that it's totally bad for the health in general but for the eyes, yes it is.

I think it truly can be bad for health. For example, I feel pain in my eyes a lot since I started to stay long hours in front of my computer and also at work. Sometimes I have to lie down and close my eyes for a while. I also think that the sedentary life we live nowadays doing everything online is really not healthy too. And we can also think about lots of other problems related to the time we spend in front of a computer. Back problems, blood circulation problems and on and on...

Well I have really heard anything like this sort of discussion or articles even though i have heard about the possible ill effects of the monitors on our eyes and i think that this ok but how could computer really cause effects in a humans life..its just a program in the computer..how really could a program cause problems in a human..if the progrem causes any effects it is blamed on the computer and not on the internet... Just like everything else in life, moderation is the key. Using the computer for extended duration will cause headache, eye strain, carpal syndrome, back ache, and spondalities. The last two will be due to incorrect posture. Get a proper chair and table for the computer. Maintain proper distance from monitor. Take regular breaks from work and move around for a few minutes. Do a few eye excersises every so often between work. Net is a great source of information as long as it's not abused. Happy mylotting

hmm..i think they're right, it could harm our healthy if we're spending time too much on the net. i personally felt that way, once its too much my body will notice n will give me an alarm to stop for a while. i will take a few days off of it n will be back soon when i feel fresh again lol. but basically, everything that is too much wont be good for ourself..

Yes, i think so. Our eye will see in the blur color in computer monitor, so we cannot see with clear picture.

yes i think anything IN EXCESS can be bad for your health. In the case of the internet, obsession with using the internet could INDIRECTLY be bad for the user's health as the user spend more time sitting down and infront of a screen. Not only does the user put a strain on his eye sight, it also reduces the likelihood of him going out to work out and exercise. Some reports have even claimed that the radiation emitted from the CPU or monitors can increase chances of people contracting cancer. Key crux is to use the internet in moderation. Don't forget about stepping out and having a healthy life which includes social activities!

i seriousley doubt that the internet can be bad for you. It would really stink if it actuallyy was. I spend about three hours a day on the internet. I don't think that any study would convince me that what I am doing is bad for my health. I learn a lot from the internet and I am not willing to give it up.

I don't think the internet is bad for your health... the eye thing is true though.. the computer can be bad for your eyes if your on it a lot...but for overall health i don't think its dangerous. people just want to say anything and everything is bad for you today. too much internet may not be good but i don't think it can do any real damage.

yep, I think it ture. and I spend most time on internet and using them with studying or entertainment. and I think if one adult who has enough control ability,he will know when to relax and when to work. Internet has its own two sides like sword. It all depends on how u use it. If u use it uncontrolly ,it is harmful to u. and if u use it reasonable,I think it isn't bad for our health. On the other hand, people should do sports usually.
