It's Official: Prison Break Has Been Sentenced to Death!

It's official. There's only four episodes of Prison Break left and Fox has pulled the plug. They don't think their writers can come up with new and interesting plots. I beg to differ. But Fox does this to good programs. I bet bloggers could write another great season. In any case, what do you think about this sentence?

Even before they started filming the fourth season... Wentworth Miller hinted that this was the last season... since they can't keep on breaking out or in of prisons... they had a good run... and i think that is the right decision... pull the plug while they are still on top... since viewers will eventually lose their interest... and it will be much sadder if they disappear because they are no longer supported by the people...

Ah, valid points, my friends. I was kind of hoping some genius writer would have a brand new idea or angle to write from. But it seems that all is lost. But you're right, it's better to go out while still on top.

Well, they could have done what the writer of Desperate Housewives did... go forward in time and create new adventures for Michael Scofield... or just change the title... but the main character is still Michael Scofield... but i guess they did not consider such and ideas...

Looks like we'll be waiting a long time for the last four episodes to air since "24" has taken its time slot. Maybe they'll air it to fill up the Summer time slots. It's pretty sad. Thanks for your input OwelM.

There are more than 4 episodes, as the network has stated already. I heard several of the actors want to move on to other projects. The network leaving the show off the line-up made it clear it would be the last season. The ratings were way down.

I learned this news via the net. I have to say that I really enjoy Prison Break season 1. However, season 2 is less attractive. As to season 3, I even haven't finished it. So I don't have a high expectation for season 4. So I can understand that Prison Break 4 is the final season. I love China

I dont agree. Prisonbreak is one of the most popular series not because its on FUSE but because it appealed to everyone's taste, well I guess not everyone. But I wonder what else would appeal into your likeness. The story makes sense, the thrill of the story. I really appreciate prisonbreak.

I have watched that show a few times and I liked it. I have not kept up with it recently though. I hate when they take good shows off of the air.

I don't like the fact that Prison Break was cancelled but the truth is that it needed an end, it's almost impossible continue this types of shows. But I do believe Prison Break was one of the best tv shows ever. With great perfomances too. No one understands that now the aim is different: they've to fight for the ones who killed their father and destroyed their lives.

the series was superb for the first two seasons and from then on it felt like a drag. the 4th season was horrible, as i felt the plots were becoming corny... people busting out (this happening behind the scene)... the same people teaming up yet again, and this time for a not-so-interesting cause... i am grateful that they pulled the plug on this show as i couldn't take anymore non-sense the writers were coming up with... the show should have wrapped things up and ended on a high note in the second season... but no! they had to drag it on to make every last bit they could by sacrificing the respect the show has earned for itself.

This is one that I never watched, so I won't miss it. The concept never really appealed to me ('24' never appealed to me, either). As well, it is hard to start watching a show like that if you haven't seen it from the beginning.

it's a bad news. I've heard it this morning. I've watched only 1st season. But I can say that it is a brilliant tv show I've never seen. The subject of it is unique. and characters are unique too, scofield and T-bag.etc.. It come to the end. What a pity. If Fox think their writers become a person who has exposed his limited ability. The power of internet is immeasurable. They ignored it and ignored fans expectation.

I think it gotta to stop as soon as possible. As we all know, it has nothing to do with PrisonBreak since Season 4. Their mission is only turn over the company. Then get to do and do it quickly. We have to leave the classic down to history. But we really keep it in memory.

I couldn't believe it when I read that Prison Break will be over by the end of this season. I love this show. Anyways, it seems that their writers are running out of ideas for the show, which makes sence given that the show is titled "Prison Break" and there are no more prisons to break from. This season's story line has nothing to do with prison breaking. So, I guess I can understand why they have decided to call it quits. According to what I have read, the show has at least six (6) episodes left (not four), starting on April 17 and it is probable that a few more episodes will be added so that the show will end big. I am sad to see the show go, but at least we still have 24!!!

I'm not up-to-date due to my non-US residency, so I don't know what Season 4 and the latter half of Season 3 was about. But I do think that if the writers stick to the plot inherent in the title, then they'll be very limited. It'll be great if they have enough creativity to make "breaking out of prison" interesting and compelling every season, but I have personally thought that Prison Break would be three seasons at most due precisely to this. I did love all the characters though, and I liked how the show wasn't afraid of killing its characters. But in the end, I just can't help but feel for the brothers beause just can't get a break (pun not intended). :) Curiously, what direction do you think the plot could go? And I agree that Fox has the bad habit of killing off great shows. E

It's a sad news. But what I've heard was there are 6 or more episodes left.“At least six more hours are set to kick off Friday, but that count could be upped to eight so as to properly finish the serialized saga.”That's what I seen from tvguide.com.In my opinion, both the 2nd and the 3rd season are not as good as the 1st season. And the show's name "Prison Break"makes it must be revalant to prison, and it constrained writer's imagination.
