Love makes the world go round..

Ok I'm sitting here humming a sappy old song, Love Makes the World Go Round, from Carnival, with Anna Maria Albergetti singing. I love my Broadway station on my satellite radio that came with the car (that I'm going to have to start paying for in March if I want to keep it boo). But it's possible I'm digressing here.
Does love really make the world go round? What would your world be like without it? And to extend the discussion to Star Trek because that's just the weird way my brain works, would we be better off if we were like the Vulcans and just didn't use our emotions, stuffed them down in a deep, dark hole and forgot about them? The world might be a worse place without love but without hate? I wonder...

Oh, yo naughty girl! Stuffing emotions down into dark holes. Whatever next says she shaking her wise old head. I don't want to be a vulcan. I want to experience love and have experienced and am still experiencing love in this world. Does it make the world go round? No. Evil is here yes as the opposite of love. Blessings

I think the world is looking more and more like that. Emotionless. I tend to believe that hate really comes from love. But that is thinking far out but... what is really missing is love for yourself and I think that is what really makes the world go around.

I have heard it said that hate is not the opposite of love, indifference is. In a personal relationship, if you hate somebody you still care. I don't think that's true in non-personal situations though (like what's going on in Gaza).

when i feel depressed,a word from my loved ones does make me tick,i donot mean the love between a husband and a wife but also of kids,parents,relstives,friends,etc.i donot think,one can survive in this world without love.it is aptly said that love makes the world go round.
I'd rather have love than money or fame or anything else there is out there.

We do get this one free station, Jack FM, that has a lot of good stuff, not too repetitive. But you wouldn't believe what all they have on satellite. In addition to all kinds of rock and pop stations, they have jazz, classical, broadway, even on dedicated to Sinatra!

If it was just the emotional kind of love, the feeling, then I would say that it doesn't make the world go round and I'm happy about that. But if you mean the kind of love that includes active compassion, commitment, and sacrifice, then Yes, that kind of love makes the world go round. The other kind, is fickle and prone to change. Emotions are an unstable base for most things. It needs to be something more tangible and solid than the roller coaster of emotions.
Ooooo....... do I sound serious or what?
