Its probably a custom to wear the watch on the left wrist...most people I have seen do that. But I have also seen people deviating the rule, who keep it in their left wrist. I think the decision should be about personal choice & comfort, whether to wear it on the left or right.. What habit are you with ...DO you wear your watch on left wrist or right??

I wear my watch on my right wrist. I used to wear it on the left like everyone else then myself and a friend decided not to be like everyone else and changed it to the right, that was about 20 years ago and I've kept it like that ever since. I don't know about my friend though 'cos we've lost touch.

Yes, my boyfriend at the time (now my husband) asked me, but it took him a good while to even notice!!!!! Funnily enough no-one else has ever asked. How about you.

I wear my watch on my right hand for almost 18 years. It's my habit. Most of my friends have advised me to change it because it's a general illusion among them that people who wear wrist watches on the right hand are of bad character and they have asked to me this question as well.Even ,my english professor asked me to change this habit and enquired me in front of the whole class, why am i wearing it in right hand?He said people who tie up in right hand will not be good ones.I gave him back shots replying then all those people who wear their watches on left hand are all good ones uh?He did not ask me anymore questions...oops!.It's our own habit and i began to wear as such because of my father as he wear it so.

i have noticed that larger percentage of people who wear watches are on the left wrist. i have been checking this out and 2 of the top answers i have found out is because 1, they are right handed person and it would be easier and it would not be heavy for heir right hand when they write. 2nd reason is that it has always been the trend, more of a habit of nature. for example, a kid learns to read the time and when given a watch they see their old folks wearing it in the right hand and so they do it the way they see. the 2nd reason i have enumerated is also a personal experience of mine. when i started to wear wrist watch, i have got this from my parents who by the way use their right hand. some of our relatives are also using their watches on their right hand and one thing though that does contradict (my 1st statement) is that almost all of them are right handed. both statements are applicable to me: i'm left handed and it's easier for me to write when my watch is in my right hand as it'll not be heavy in my hands and plus the fact that i have been accustomed in wearing it in right just like our family does. well, the possible answers i have cited are not yet proven but for me, it doesn't matter what the real asnwer is because the important thing is that wear your watch wherever you're comfortable wearing it.

I'm left handed, so most people would assume that I'd wear my watch on my right wrist. Traditionally people have always worn them on the opposite side from the hand you write with. I wear mine on the left though, mostly because it interferes with using the mouse, which I do with my right hand.

A simple answer. I wear it on my right wrist, which for stereotyping means I'm left handed.

I didn't know there was a rule. I used to wear my watch on my right wrist too but I found it more convenient to have it on my left. Cheers!!

I'm right handed; therefore, I wear my watch on my left wrist. That way if I'm doing something with my right hand, I can still look at my watch & see what time it is. I do believe that most people wear their watch on the opposite wrist from the hand they are most likely use. This may not always be the case, but I think it is most of the time. It may also have something to do with the fact that it is just plain easier to use the preferred hand to perform the function of putting on the watch. I find it very awkward to use the weaker hand to perform the duty of putting on a watch!!!

When I write or do something usinf my hands, I use my dominant hand which is the right one. But when it comes to wrist watch, I wear them at my left hand because I'm using my dominant hand to wear my wrist watch at my left hand. I saw some people who are right handed placing their wrist watches to their right hand also. Well, I guess it's their comfort area and they are used to it.

I always wear my watch on my left hand simply because I'm used to it and I have bracelets on my right hand anyway. I don't remember anyone instructing me on which hand to wear it (maybe my mum). Sometimes I get lost in the morning and wear it on my right hand, but that happens rarely. Just curious, does anyone know if left and right-handed people wear their watches on different hands?

I wear watch in left hand mostly coz on my right hand i wear bands and many things. Well wearing watch in left hand is the habit developed by my childhood so that can't change so easily. Your point is good that its a personal choice to wear on right or left there is nothing such thing like rule. Just wear the watch where you feel if comfortable..

I learned from my parents that you wear your wrist watch on the right, but I find the left hand side way more comfortable. I didn't realize it's a custom. I know more people who wear their wrist watch on the right than people who wear it on the left. Perhaps it is different from country to country aswell. My mom did not wear a wrist watch but a watch of the pendulum type hanging from a necklace.

lol...I'm used to wearing the watch on my left hand. I've always tried to be different (not the 'in-your-face' kind). My dad is the same and he wears a watch in his right hand and I followed suit. I know ppl usually wear it on their left wrist. But I prefer to wear it on my right hand.

I wear my watch on my left wrist because it's easy for me to put on since I'm right handed. I don't really think about which hand I put my watch on. It just happens naturally.

Watches are worn on the left wrist because of the prejudice against left handed people. Let me explain. You can only buy a right handed watch. A right handed watch has the winding stem on the right side so you can wind it (when watches had to be wound every day). This meant that the watch was meant to be worn on the left wrist to free up the right hand for activity. Now of course most watches are battery powered and keep excellent time so you do not need to access the winding stem regularly. Left handed people generally now wear their watches on their right wrist.

I always wear wrist watch on right hand. there is one reason behind it. Whenever i walk along with wall sometime i got scratch on my watch. so to protect my watch from scratch i do it. Many time scratches occured on my watch due to my careless ness.Have a gr8 day!
