Honestly, I didn't know anything about his six wives, except he wanted a son. I had his marriage ended so he could remarry when his wife couldn't give him a son. A few of his other wives were beheaded because of the same thing. I know on Showtime, they have a program called The Tudors. I got to watch a few episodes when it first started only because they were free. I wish other channels would pick it up, so I could watch it from the beginning.

Since The Tudors is onto their third season , you may be able to see the first season online or rent it from Net Flix. Good Luck.

I wonder where I can go to see the first seaon online. I haven't joined Netflix, honestly because that's more money I have to spend each month even if it's only a small amount.

Actually I didn't know all of this but it is very interesting. I don't know I have a favorite but I sure feel for those wives. It sounds to me like he just liked the idea of being married and it didn't matter to whom. I think I'm going to research this some more. Thanks for sharing it. Anne Bolene. because she was so strong and knew what she wanted and loved him to the end. even held her head high as she went to her end. She was also the mother of Elizebeth. she was a true queen and her daughter. did you see we had the Tudors on showtime here for a while. loved it. i studied this history long before now tho. about 20 yrs i've been reading history of other countries. very interesting

I am sorry but I don't remember all of themI know I should know this part of history but it has slipped my mind since I never had to remember them in 20 years, or think of it since I had learned it at school. I think I read about one of them from a discussion of yours a few days ago Mary(bloody Mary) and Queen Elizabeth is all I know.

Yes I do. My favorite is Anne Boleyn. She was feisty and gave Henry what He needed, an heir to further the House Of Tudor. The luckiest wive was Anne Of Cleves. Henry and she were not romantically involved so she wasn't hurt.I wonder would Elizabeth reign if Jane Seymour had lived?Anyway I love to study this era. Do you have a favorite wife?

Yes mine has always been Anne Bolelyn for the same reason as you, she had her own mind which was rare for a woman of the times who were so subservient to their husbands, especially a king.

I havent thought much of all of his wives, but we just started watching "The Tudors" we rented season one about 2 months ago, then we saw most of season two in the last week.... as it is I am very interested in learning more. Over last summer I did see "The other Boleyene sister"... and thought it was very powerful, which got me started into watching "The Tudors"... and now I have 2 more episodes to see before I am caught up I think... as to which is my favorite I will have to get more info before I can answer...LOL
