Well, having had both a barium and a colonoscopy (not at the same time), I can tell you it isn't pleasant. I didn't notice any difference in my health afterwards.

I have IBS, too, but have never done the colon cleanse thing. Over the years, my IBS has been reduced dramatically and I think it's because of several things. First, I moved away from my source of primary stress - my father. Secondly, I took my doctor's advice - if I found a food trigger (something that would set it off), I avoided it. Thirdly, I have gradually become more able to NOT internalize my stress which aggravates it something fierce. Besides, the kind of IBS I have is cleansing in and of itself - when an episode is done, I'm as empty as I can be!! LOL
Any more, I have discovered that it actually helps me know when I've been 'swallowing' too much stress, so I try to do whatever to relieve the stress which in turn relieves the recurrence of the IBS. Cleansing probably won't hurt the situation, and if you have the kind that creates blockage rather than free passage, it might actually help a bit. But, avoiding trigger foods and learning to better cope with stress (or eliminating a primary source) have made a HUGE difference for me.

I don't know what to tell you about this. I drink a lot of water and eat clear broth soups. After about three days, I feel better. I then return to eating solids and drinking other types of drinks. I know I should drink more juices.

Hi.
I hear things all the time about cleansing your whole body...not just your colon. I think why not...it makes sense to me. We eat so much crap and it probably makes our body sluggish and sick. personally, i would probably never get around to doing it, but I do thiks it's a good idea.
