What are you an expert at?

Well I don't know if I'm expert at anything other than smart remarks, but I do know that if I went on Jeopardy there are categories that I would do much better on than others. For example, I would clean up in some of these categories: Musicals Figure Skating Olympics English history Animals Languages Science Fiction And I would totally tank on things like: Colleges Newspapers Sports (unless I got lucky with some Figure Skating or Olympics questions) Pop culture Before and After (I have trouble with these on Wheel of Fortune also) Philosophy Math and Science (especially the harder ones) One of these days I have to get on Jeopardy. See my mom got on it back in the 60's. She was really good but she lost to a 5 time champion. Somewhere, somehow I have to avenge the family honor. But I tried out in 2005 and didn't make it, so I will have to study a LOT to have a chance. But enough about me. What are you an expert at?

Unless Jeopardy had a 'Simpsons' category I would be useless. The only thing I really have a leg up on is 'Simpsons' trivia, although I'm probably far from an expert!

i'm like you dawn, i have a head of useless trivial information that is most usefull for trivia game shows. whenever we watch Jeopardy or similar shows i clean up.........AT HOME! my girlfriend always tells me "you should go on there" but with my luck, if i ever did, the categories would be like ballet history and quantum physics and i would totally bomb. i guess if i was to pick 3 expert things: 1) playing the bass, although i'm completely self taught, i've been playing for like 30 years so that must put me some where near experts. 2) doodling stupid little comics on napkins and whatever scrap paper laying around which usually depicts some kind of raunchy or bizarre humor.......yeah, pretty funny stuff there. 3) finding bloopers in movies and TV shows....either actual physical bloopers or concepts the characters are talking about that just wouldn't, couldn't happen. yeah, me and my brother are a blast to watch movies with, cuz he's an expert in the same field.

I never learned to play an instrument well and I'm no good at all at picking up on bloopers, but stupid little comics, now that I can relate to. Not that I draw myself, but some of the silly things I say might go well with them!

Expert at?? Absolutely nothing, so in hind sight it makes me an expert at it. *LOL* You need to keep trying to get on Jeopardy. Sorta like the girl on the movie, "White Men Can't Jump". I would love to see you on there.

There is an online test on the 28th, alas I will be at a show that night, but maybe next time! My brother, the genius, keeps trying too, but he hasn't made it either!

Wow! Is the cut made strictly on your intelligence/knowledge? Or is their other requirements you have to have to get on? Sorta like you have to have some many doctrines, etc?

The first cut is based on how many answers you get right. The second cut is made based on a mock game (if you go there in person, don't know how they determine if you take the online test). After that, I'm not sure. You can pass both of the first two rounds and still not get on.

I not great at much. I am good at Music and groups and I am good at gardening. I can cook and am an expert at cleaning and of course driving. If it came to trivia questions on stuff, I would say Music would be my top and maybe history. I love football as well. I love Movies also. I am no enistein though.

I can do simple math but don't get me mixed up with algebra or anything more complicated, ugh. But even with simple math I sometimes mess it up when I'm doing it in my head!

I would be worse at math honest. I hate it though and have no interest in learning it. I can count and thats all I need. If jeopardy was a team game you would never want me on the team. I would embarress you sometimes with my answers, as I am dim.

That's amazing! I'd so look out for you if you are ever on. Those questions are pretty difficult on there, but I LOVE the show... me and my sister always watch it while our foreign parents wait for W of F to come up next since they can understand that show better. Haha. I can't say I'm really an expert at much though... I know facts about things here and there in general about the general, except for Astrology. How sad, better get reading. Let us know when you go on the show!

About the only thing I'm an expert on is ME! lol. I do OK on Jeopardy, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and shows like that when I am playing from home though. Personally I have always read a lot and believe I do have a pretty broad general knowledge, so as long as I wasn't sent off on some category like quantum physics or something, I reckon I'd do OK if I went on one of these shows for real! But then again, it's pretty easy to say that from the comfort of home!

Yes it is, especially when you're really just competing against yourself. When there are 2 other really smart people and pressure and having to hit the buzzer at just the right time, I'm sure it's much, much harder!

i think i am an expert at being organized. i always thought that just because i was so organized everyone else was but boy was i wrong. it wasn't until i started working in an office environment that i realized alot of people are not at all organized so i realized i had a real skill. people started asking me how i was so organized and how i could always find anything i was asked for within seconds. i guess for me it is just an innate skill. it is just the way i am. i think we are really good at things that come easy to us.

I know a lot about nothing and a little about every thing. That makes me an expert at .....................hmmmm, let me see................errrr.............yeah, that makes me an expert at absolutely nothing! Good luck with the Jeopardy thing. I sometimes watch Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and I get almost all the answers right, but if I were to actually go on the show, I would suck big ol green pickles!

I don't know if I'm quite an expert on anything but I can say that I know a lot about some things maybe more then the average person does. I know quite a bit about ethnobotanicals, music, art, and movies. I don't know I haven't been around as much as others so I probably wouldn't do very good on jeopardy or any other game show like that.

I'm not an expert but I am an enthusiast of many things. If something sparks my interest I research it to the best of my abilities so my creative side of me can shine even brighter. I love to do many creative things such as: Photography Painting Knitting Web Design Desiging CSS's through photoshop Photo Manipulation Singing and I play hockey My niche is in computers and pretty much anything to do with how they work, coding languages and how to get the best out of certain software's.

I don't believe I have any expertise of any kind. It's quite sad that most of us think this way. I guess we are all trying to be modest. I used to be good at Math, but I dropped the subject after awhile. I'm definitely not good at cooking. Maybe writing? If I'm an expert I would have sold many of my articles. So I guess I don't have anything I'm expert in. Sigh! Thanks for the discussion. At least it made me think...
