What do you guys think Johnny Depp is going to do with the character? Do you think he's going to be any good at it?

You don't even understand.... I am counting the days!!!!! March 10, 2010. I can't believe I have to wait a whole YEAR!!!! The whole cast (with the HUGE exception of Anne Hathaway who can't act her way out of a paper bag with a map) is going to be amazing. But Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman.... Crispin Glover! For some reason, it always excites me to see Crispin Glover getting work I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. There are a couple of things I can't figure out but they might make sense when I get to see it... There is no White Rabbit, no March Hare, and no Dormouse, according to the IMDb page. Rotten Tomatoes doesn't have a cast list posted yet but there is a link to an article that says where the IMDb has Michael Sheen listed as the Cheshire Cat that may not be true... It says he may actually be playing the Rabbit and Stephen Fry will be the Cheshire Cat. Be sure that I will be looking out to see what becomes of the cast list closer to release time. Crispin Glover is most recognizable as George McFly from the Back to the Future trilogy. He was also Willard in the movie of the same name. He's done other stuff too but those are the ones that always seem to get the most recognition.

He's very good at creepy! (See: Willard, guy with rats for friends) Which kind of makes me wonder why this is his first foray into Burton-dom.... and in verifying that fact I was reminded he was also in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, to take bring this conversation back around to Johnny Depp.

haha! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is super excited about this!! I agree with you that Anne Hathaway isn't exactly the most talented of people. Hopefully Burton won't let her fail at being the White Queen. Crispin Glover, huh? Not too familiar with him but I do recognize the name. He must be an understated actor. I think Stephen Fry and the Cheshire Cat might be a mistake. He's funny and everything, I'm not denying that, but I don't know if he has the same personality as the Cheshire Cat. Thanks for the great link!

He has been good at several unrelated roles, from Scissorhands to Jack Sparrow and Charlie, I guess he will be awesome as Mad Hatter as well :)

I would suggest checking out his role as Ed Wood. That was yet another side of Johnny Depp that most people don't get to see because the movie isn't as well known as his others.

And... Ed Wood is yet another Burton-Depp pairing. Such an amazing team, they really are great together.

I feel he will play the part well. As for the movie itself I am not too sure about. Like the Charlie and the Chocalate Factory remake I was disappointed myself I was hoping for something better than the orgianl but as I stated I was not too impressed with it. I am not saying it was bad just not as good as the first. Happy mylotting and have a great day everyday! horses102488 [em]happy]/em]

This is the first time I'm hearing about a remake to 'Alice'. I'm a big fan of the story but I'm not impressed about hearing that Burton's gonna be directing. If anything, he's been doing nothing but making rehashes of the story already. Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward S.H.'s, Big Fish. All of the characters in these movies can fit into the Wonderland.

The things you discover on myLot, right? Wouldn't him having plenty of experience in these types of film qualify him more than if he didn't? I mean, Burton's mind must be a fantastic place to live if he can come up with some of the things he does...

Whatever he does with it, I bet it going to be good. He seems to have a knack for playing quirky characters.

I hope you're right. And he does have a knack for it doesn't he? Edward Scissorhands is so under-rated I think.
