What do you do? Order out(these days that is expensive) Make a sandwich or a bowl of cereal? Skip it all together? I guess I am just tired. Usually I or my hubby will make a weekend breakfast. He had to work today and I just cannot get motivated. I am glad my daughter is easy to please this morning.

I work from home and I do get days when I just don't feel like cooking. That is when I check the fridge to see if there are any leftovers. I usually make enough for two days at a time but my son moved back home so now the fridge is bare most of the time. :)

I want to work from home. (whining) Please PM me and tell me what you are doing that allows you to work from home and eat leftovers. I am looking at many options. Please share your tips with me. I will share my sandwich with you.

I would eat out - go to some food stores, not restaurants (these are expensive) and buy what we called 'economy food'. We have these stores over here and the food doesn't cost much. If I'm too lazy to go out, then I'd make sandwiches, or search through the refrigerator or cupboards for cakes, cookies or any snacks.

Oh yes! there is days I don't feel like cooking at all and those are the days we will have something fast and easy like something I can just pop in the oven and not worry about it till it is done or we eat sandwiches of some kind. We rarely do take out and it is usually for hamburgers, foot longs, or pizza.

I do. We cook from scratch so it really is a chore at times. But with kids it is hard to skip it. I do keep a few convenience items on hand for days like this. So we will have hamburger helper or sloppy joes or chicken nuggets.

hi ersmommy1, my dear friend, i work from home nad sometimes i also feel very bored to go and cook something in the kitchen., i feel to do something with the leftovers or order something from out. now i am having an eleven month oldie so she makes me on my toes nad i am very very tired also. i have to work and look after her too. makes all quite very hectic and then i dont wanna cook. my hubby is very supportive in this condition. he sometimes helps in the kitchen and if i am in no mood to cook then orders something from the out that my baby can aslo enjoy. she love curds, yoghurts, milk shakes, potato, mashed potatoes , french fries. so when we order we keep in mind that now we are having a third person also in for which we have to order.lol, its so sweet at times.

When I do not feel like cooking, I will try to come p with something quick that can be warmed up from home, if that does not sound appealing, we might get something from a fast food place, or something that was already prepared at a deli or another store.

I have plenty of TV dinners in the freezer! It's just me, so I can always get away with a bowl of soup or a TV dinner. I also will bake a chicken and will cut chunks off it and munch on it. I don't do well skipping meals. I eat a small amount every two hours to keep my stomach happy. It isn't a huge amount but I discovered that after my gall bladder surgery and the resulting constant pain, the little nibble every two hours kind of keeps the pain under control. Also, when I cook things like chili I will put part of it in small containers so that I can get it out of the freezer and "nuke" it in the microwave.

I don't feel like cooking most of the time now since I'm by myself. But yes, there were many days when my boys were growing up that I didn't feel like cooking. My husband enjoyed my cooking, though, and I always cooked breakfast and supper. I had a few recipes I used on days when I really didn't feel like cooking. I would make hash from leftover roast, or take out the cube steak from the freezer, sear it on both sides, add mushroom soup and let it sit for an hour or so in the electric skillet. If I had enough warning that I didn't want to cook, I'd throw some chicken in the crockpot and add some frozen vegetables a couple hours before it would be served. Crockpots are your friend! They take the drudgery out of cooking and there are thousands of free recipes on the net.

Many days, I should think. However, my family does tend to appreciate it when I pull something together for them. So, for their sake, I usually will.

Normally, I really enjoy cooking for my family or even just my husband and myself. But, I have to admit there are some days when I would like someone to cook for me. Usually on those days my husband will make the meal but that means something will be grilled. Nothing tops going 'out' to eat but those days are pretty much non-existant these days...way too expensive for us.

Just take it easy, even those who like cooking most may feel tired of it sometimes. Since you cannot get motivated and your husband is busy, why not try instant noodles, bread, or other things? There are many options easy and cheap for you.

Yes, I definitely get tired of cooking. I have to cook every day. When I just absolutely cannot bear the thoughts of it I will either have my husband bring something home, or sometimes I can get him to cook. But of course if he cooks, I have a HUGE mess to clean, because he is much messier in the kitchen than I am. I sometimes declare it "every man for himself" night. They can heat up leftovers or make them a sandwich, and I will do the same.

Personally since I do not enjoy cooking when my husband is not around I will either put a Marie Callendars meal in the microwave, have a bowl of soup, or find something else. It is getting quite expensive to eat out, but we still have to do it from time to time just to break up the pace as well. (That is when McDonald's 2/$3 Big Macs are nice for sure.)

Definitely. The only thing I really cook is dinners. We don't really eat breakfast. I feed my son whenever he's hungry and he has a limited amount of things that he will eat. I cook every other night and we will often order pizza once a week. We don't have a dishwasher and I tend to stay behind on dishes, especially since I'm having a plumbing problem right now, so cooking every other night and eating the leftovers on in between nights works pretty well. When I eat other than dinner, I will eat fruit, yogurt, or oatmeal. I also make tuna salad if there's not enough leftovers for me or if I want to eat lunch one day.

I guess we all have these days - i generally compromise y making an easy dish like rice in the rice cooker , an order some curries and naan etc from a takeaway close to our place. It is not too expensive and the food tasty and more than anything the place is clean and hygenic.I feel that one needs to take a break from the routine every now and then

For me, that question should be changed to "Are there days when you actually feel like cooking?" I have been cooking extra chicken once a week, so for a few days we can grab some of that to eat.

Today of all days I did not feel like cooking dinner. I have to clean our extra room because my niece is coming to stay or a while. Usually I cook dinner at 4 or 5 but I was too busy clearing our extra bedroom. Theafter that we fetched her at te airport at 6:30. I don't think I have time to make food so we just went to Wendy's to grab a bite.

The days I dont want to cook, I just make instant noodles. We dont eat out because its too expensive. So we mostly cook at home time consuming and cheap. We only make a sandwhich when we are in a hurry or going somewhere. I cook rice and eggs and thats all I need for dinner/lunch its filling and pretty good. When I just dont feel like making anything I just eat cereal all day. Healthy and good, but I'd really like a steak.
