I didn't know that. Probably because I still wasn't born yet or anything. I live in Canada, which is still under the British Commonwealth.

while I am a 3rd generation U.S. citizen on both sides of the family, I also come from generations of residents too, on one side going back to someone wanting to settle in New Amsterdam and on the other both the Mayflower and arriving with William Penn.

I honestly never knew that there was an attempt on the Queen's life, either times. I don't know much about the Queen of England. My country was under British rule at one point in time, and we fought the British to get our freedom. My country is a democracy now, which isn't bad, just wish we had things that other countries have like Universal Health Care for one. I have read that a lot of people in England wants to do away with the Royal family. Saying they are tired of having to pay for their debts and things, but like I said. I read it somewhere, so it doesn't mean that it's true.

I'm sorry, I always thought that it was British rule instead of a democracy. Oh I know that we were under the British, we had to fight to get our freedom. Many kids today just see the 4th of July as fireworks and picnics.

Interesting story, although now I think all interest in the royal family is gone since the passing of Princess Diana.

I had no idea that an attempt had been made on the Queen's life. Wow. I do not recall it being in the news or hearing my parents talk about it. I like to watch her on TV.

No I did not know that. But in my defense 38 years ago I was only 5 years old. I live in the United States so actually I don't know how to answer that question. They certainly tried to rule us, and in some ways they did, but we quickly fought for our indpendence and got out from under them.
