I'd give it another try celestial. Perhaps you drank it too fast. If so, trying sipping it slower next time. It is probably good for you as your body does dehydrate some while you sleep each night. I should drink more water. I drink iced coffee first thing in the morning with hazelnut liquid coffee creamer. I do however drink about half a glass or more when I take my medications in the morning, noon & evening. So, I guess that does help. I also drink a couple of glasses in the afternoon & evening. I had to stop drinking soda because the carbonation upsets my stomach anymore. Every so often though I do sneak a coke! :)

Well, I am now trying to practice doing this. It might not hurt the stomach if we will be used to it everyday.

I don't really wake up in the morning cause I usually wake up in the afternoon. But I have a habit of after waking up and had my face washed, I'll drink water after. I read somewhere that drinking water when you just woke up cleanses our body. And I make that a habit!

I don't drink a glass of water when I wake up, what I normally drink is juice or fresh orange juice if we have, before having coffee. I've tried to drink a glass of water a few times and it doesn't cause me or give me stomach ache, maybe because I'm so used to have cold drinks in the morning, before drinking coffee.

Well, I am now practicing this every morning. I drink a glass of water because some health experts says, it is really good for cleansing.. specially if it;s early in the morning where there is nothing yet in your stomach.

Hello celestial52506! Honestly, I don't drink water in the morning the moment I wake up. It's just that I am not really thirsty to drink. But because of what you said, I might consider drinking it now.. Thanks for this very helpful tips.

Drinking a glass of water early in the morning or after waking up is a big no-no. It would definitely make your stomach ache and feels like cramping. The very normal thing you do after you wake up is to brush your teeth first before taking anything like fresh fruit juice or eat fruit.

Well, this is proven by health expert that drinking water right when you wake up in the morning is good for your health. The only thing is that, you don;t feel good when you are not used to it.

I started drinking a glass of water as soon as I get up a few years ago and now it has become a must. However it must be room temperature and never cool. If the weather is particularly cold like it is now then before I go to bed I prepare a glass of water and leave it allnight near the radiator so that by morning it does not have that cold edge on it which would give me stomach problems too.

I've heard this many times that drinking water early in the morning right after you wake up is good. It is a good cleansing. I tried it once or twice but i can't stand it. I feel like I throw up.. Lol.. But maybe if you are determined to do that, it will be done. Many health experts advice this.. I just hope I can do it.

I think it is just a matter of practice. We just need to practice it everyday and we will be used to it later.

Yes that's very true. Health advocates advised to do it every morning upon waking up. I did it while I was still at home (Philippines); at first I cannot really take a glass because am not used to and I felt nausea so I did it slowly until such time that I was able to drink one full glass. However, am no longer doin it here now. Of course I still do, drink water every morning when I wake up but only a very small amount; not a full glass because it's very cold here.

not after you brush your teeth and gargle. I often go straight to milk and not water.

Oh!! but water is the advice to drink early in the morning not milk? anyway most of us are use to drink milk in the morning and mix it with the coffee but water is healthful than milk.

I think their are various reasons why your stomach ache. You could consider the water temperature, maybe it's too cold. Another things is your morning saliva could be the culprit. Try to gargle first before you drink water.
