My friend just ruined his computer by spilling orange juice on it and it's dead right now. I haven't spilled anything on my computer before by accidental. What about you? Was your computer recovered afterwards?

Luckily, I've never spilled anything on my computer keyboard. However, I did read an article not too long ago that said if you spill liquid of any type on a computer or cell phone or other electronic item, simply unplug it and don't push any of the buttons until you are sure it's completely dry. It said to wait a day or 2 until you believe it's dry. And it also said that, in many cases, the item will work again as long as you don't press any buttons while it's wet. The article said that when electronics get wet, they will short out if power buttons or other buttons are pressed. I don't know if that's correct, but that's what I read.

No, I always take care not to harm my computer with such accidents. And now with a laptop, the care has become even more sincere. But yes, once I tried cleaning my laptop screen with ordinary mirror cleaning solution and cotton, and the results were heart breaking. I got a lot of permanent spots on the laptop screen which looked really bad! Later on I read about the cleaning method for LCD screens and since then, have been following it on my new laptop!

Fortunately I haven't tried it before. However, when I was a child. I tried spilling the soup to the TV set accidentally. I was sad and I cried as I was afraid the TV set would be out of work after that. Fortunately this TV set could be turned on after a while. And even it lasted for several years. This TV had a very good quality and even passed the terrible quality test by me:) I love China

Hello wondericequeen, I always be extra careful whenever I am doing things in front of my computer especially the one at home. I don't bring any food, drinks or anything I can spill on the computer. I am not good at it and it will be such a hassle if I destroy the machine - I will definitely get a nag from my husband.

hello wondericequeen i am so sorry to hear about your friend spilling orange juice on his computer? in saying that did you mean that he knocked over the orange juice on the keyboard and ruined the keyboard? or did you mean by saying that that your friend knocked over the orange juice on his laptop? and ruined his computer? oh my gosh! i sure hope that nobody's laptop is ruined. the keyboard getting wrecked would be bad enough. about a year ago, one of our friends was at our house visiting with us and he splashed his drink out of his cup when he went to sit it back down on the computer desk and some of the liquid went onto the keyboard and it took away for the stickieness of the keyboard to go away and to work properly again. our friend by no means meant for his drink to splash out of his cup like that to ruin anything of ours. he felt so bad about that, we tried to wipe it off right afterwards, but it had down ran down inside of some parts of the keyboard that got sticky. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I never have drinks near my computer.there are no chances of liquid going in my computer. It is very expensive to again buy a new computer.Even if its in warranty. The service center will not fix it.Because liquid has entered in the parts.

Ah, that's too bad about your friend's computer. :( I never spilled anything on my computer, but I always keep drinks near it. I guess I've been lucky. I think I will be extra careful now, after hearing about your friend's computer. Have a good night!

Many years ago I spilled some orange juice on my computer. It didn't ruin the computer, but the keyboard looked slightly different afterwards I think it was my first computer and I only used it to play games, I was a child at that time and I wasn't very careful. Actually I think that I spilled more than orange juice on it, but it never broke down. Now I am more careful with my computer and I don't want anything to happen to it, if I can prevent it. I almost spilled a cup of coffee on my ex-boyfriend's laptop once, but I managed to protect the computer. Otherwise I would have become extremely unpopular I think
