Well I am one of those who do. I don't know! I simply can't appreciate this genre. The rhythm seems all the same and the vocals sound almost monotonous to my ears. I'd get headache each time I hear a hip hop sound. But don't get me wrong, I understand those who love this genre. It just a matter of preference I think. If you hate or love hip-hop please share.

Well I appreciate some and some I do not. So I do not despise all of their music at all. There are just some that is not good to hear and there are those that are good ones.

I understand your feelings about hip hop because not everyone likes hip hop, but as for me I cant really say that I completely hate any form of music theres just certain kinds of music I like more then others, but hate is a strong word and if your a true music lover you can appreciate all forms of music even those that aren't your favorte in some small way.

If this wasn't the web, I might be offended..as a child of hip-hop (born in 1982..around about the time when it was made known to the world) all I can really say to you is you are entitled to your opinion but all hip-hop doesn't sound alike..hip-hop is supposed to be poetry to a beat..it just so happens most of it is violent and maybe even offensive causing people to not like it or be offended..people always fear what they don't understand..I don't know if you gave hip-hop a chance but if you didn't there are so many things you are missing out on..

Oh sorry dear, I don't mean to offend you. As I said, it is just a matter of preference. Each one is entitled to his own choice so if you love hip hop then I leave you alone in that choice. I understand you. What is good to you may not be good to me and vice versa. Maybe I am too old to appreciate the latest trends. Thanks for sharing!

There are really some people who loves this genre and some don't. Some people likes jazz or smooth music while others hates rock or hip hop. We understand the situation. Sometimes, we consider the age and the sexuality of a person who prefers the certain kind of music, a certain genre. Most there are also some people, like me, that is so flexible with music. Maybe, we can say, that music is within the heart. "Consider yourself a musician and feel the music within the sound"...

Well I hope I could be like you so I could tolerate my niece's desire to listen to it while they are in my car. I tried a hundred times to give them what they want but I always end up having headache as I listen to hip hop.

Hello mialei! I prefer soft soothing music. I love the oldies but goodies, gospel, country, ballads and pop. Hip hops just don't sound like music at all.

Well I wouldn't say that I hate it, thats a strong word, but I will say I dislike it, I don't like it very much either, it gives me a headache too. To me it all sounds the same too, and I don't see why anyone would want to listen to it, but thats my opinion, I don't dislike anyone who listens to it, its just not my style of music, you can listen to whatever you want. Whenever my nephew gets in my car he tries to change the station to some hip-hop station and I get onto him and make him turn it back..lol.

Hi my friend, like you do, I don't appreciate this type of music. Likewise the pants that they call hip-hop? I don;t like to see it either. Sometimes, the kids in church who are Using the hip-hop pants? I keep on teasing them that why heir pants are almost down to the knee? lol Much more for the hip hop music? I don't like it either.

Oh yes those hip hop pants I also hate my dear. It's good that our church is quite strict with the way people dress. We strictly enforce modest and respectable apparel to all members. But visitors of course could not be controlled. Once in a while there are those who come with hip hop outfit. My goodness, I don't know what is good about that kind of pants. Ha!ha!ha!

This music seems very immature and just the same old thing over and over. When one is used to rock and roll hip-hop seems very tame. I wouldn't waste my time on it when I have a choice of that or listening to ACDC. Nope!

It's the repetitive melody of most hip hop sounds that disturbs me a lot and the rappers sound almost the same. It irritates my ear really and literally hates this genre just as I hate metallic sounds.

I hate hip-hop music, actually I don't consider it music but NOISE!every time I heard hip-hop music I feel ache all over my body, it seems I am having migraine for the whole week. I don't know why people created that sort of thing where in face it is not pleasing to the ears!it is damaging to the eardrum. I prefer soothing music like mellow and ballad which are more conducive to my ears. Hip-hop music contributed much to air pollution because of its bad effect to the ears!

Yes, dear you have said the right word. I also consider this noise and not music. Although there are few exceptions though but almost all are messy and what offends me are the unwholesome words they usually use. Like you I also love soothing music. I believe music is the language of our soul so our personality is reflected in the kind of music we go for.

I love the rock music, but I respect a lot the Hip Hop because their lyrics are awesome, and I´m talking about real hip hop, not that dudes that are shown in MTV like 50 Cent or other guys, I mean like Nash, MC solar and other foreign hip hop artists

I can listen to some music of this type but not a lot. I cannot stand the B's and Hoho's stuff in the lyrics or other disrespectful language. Which is sad because a lot of it has a good beat to dance to, but I think they sound totally uneducated and disrespectful and I'm not even old LOL

I don't hate it and i don't love it also but i can appreciate it. You see my girls are into music and i too have loved music since i was a kid. We love music that much that almost all day when we are not watching tv or anything we just have music playing. They are more into alternative, r&B, acoustic, pop but they have favorties among the other genres. They do appreciate my kind of music too.My being into music gave me a chance to have a little experience as a disc jock in our local fm station back in my younger years and i havent lost my love for music. My youngest is the lead guitarist of their school band. I think i can work better with music on the background and they do too. I guess music is into our lives as we are into music.

Hi friend! So you worked as a DJ years back. Ha!ha!ha! How nice to have such an experience. This explains why you have high tolerance for any kind of beat. I also am a lover of music but not tolerant to Hip hop genres and hard rock sounds as well. I was a member of a glee club way back in college and have had solo parts in many performances. I now have opted to use my talent for singing in serving the Lord. I sing in the church choir and also do solo special numbers during worship services. My only son inherited my talent for music but he has the edge because aside from a very good singing voice, he also could play the guitar and keyboard expertly. I do play the guitar but not as expert as my son. He is the lead vocalist and guitarist in their band. Music is also part of our lives but we are just very selective. Thanks for sharing!

I am right there with you. It annoys me deeply. The beats are repetative, and rarely are any real instruments actually used. Most of the beats come in 3/4 time, which also bothers me extensively. I still do not understand how a composition can be formed exclusively on a electronic drum beat. It is wierd. Not to mention, most of these rappers have electronic effects over their voices; which is also annoying when not used sparingly. Interestingly enough, I enjoy electronica music as a whole; but hip-hop and rap just ruin the electronic side.

I on the other hand could not find any mood to listen to the tiresome monotonous beat of almost all hip hop songs. T want my music to have soothing melodies and not beats that cause headaches.
