Do you think that mylot started up this site as a sociology experiment?
Think about it, we are like mice in maze. They can monitor us and experiment on us.
Do any of you remember the show "The Twilight Zone"? I remember one episode in particular where aliens kidnapped some humans to see how they would react to different circumstances.
And another where they kidnapped humans, created a room that was an exact replica of their home and they were an attraction at an alien zoo.
I'm beginning to think like this now.
So, along this vein, do you think that possibly, just maybe, that mylot has been creating these trolls, just to see how we would react?
I mean, when we all get bored around here, it seems we turn on each other sometimes, so maybe that was there way of stopping all that.
Maybe that is why they haven't yet found a way to fix this problem with people getting their accounts deleted and trolls showing up and getting nasty. I dunno.
I know I am overtired, haven't slept well in a few days, so this could be just the ramblings of an overtired idiot, I know, but still......???
What is your take on this?

People are defintely strange, we are amongst unknown species starring us right in the face and we dont even know it or perhaps feel their existence but have no explaination. Who really knows what the underlying factor of this discussion site really is meant to accomplish but it's creating enitity itself. We all just do what we can to follow their guidelines like anything else we'll be fine. uhmm

Oh - yeah - to make it even more attractive to get more people involved, they granted 25% referral earnings so that those who were already in would have an incentive to bring more people into it. Then because those who were brought into it would get 25% of the earnings of whoever they brought in, those people would try to get others to involved.

THIS PLACE IS EVERYONE'S SOCIOLOGY EXPERIMENT.
Yup, yup. It is. Think: A whole pool of subj--Mylotters from different backgrounds, races, countries, etc. And a whole internet between you and them. You can say anything, just to garner a reaction. Or even to entertain yourself on a slow day. It's like talk radio, but typed. They BS to set you off. Same here.

I doubt no matter how over tired you are that your an idiot. What you are saying could hold some truth..I don't know..Maybe they are trying out figure out what makes us tick. Or someone can be sending messages. but having them in code so that they have to figure them out. like 3-2-6-7-8-1-2-3 and maybe they are sent discussions in which they are supposed to search for the third word in one..second in another..and so on but then again..this just could be an idiot ideal.

But I thought it was a neat concept.
Sorry for the delayed response. 1. I'm not getting all my notifys, 2. I've been awol because I'm busy tending to 200 sheep lambing. Right now I am mostly 'midwife' and will be for several more weeks. I think I'm halfway through or at least I hope I am. *sigh*

lol who knows! Sometimes I wonder if "big brother" is watching us here in myLot.
when I first started here and I had very little idea of how things worked here I had a vision of admin being "myLot Gods" like on mount olympis or something lol
I do think the interaction between people here in myLot and people everywhere is quite fascinating.

Yeah, mentalward reminded me of Men In Black 2 movie. An even better theory.
I'm not so worried about big brother. He doesn't scare me. Not much does. I'm a pretty resourceful individual.
But I must admit, mylot has it's positive qualities for sure. We have made some very close bonds with each other here and we really try to have a good time.

It could be a social experience. There are of course people here too that will show the very worst side of human nature. However, I think what we find here more than bad things is a lot of people here who are truly friendly and truly helpful, and who desire to reach out to other human beings and help them, and show them that although we are all different we definately all have many things in common. Yes people will turn if provoked, but I find that over all mylot allows peole all over the world to touch each other for a few minutes every day.

ROFLOL!!!!! Obviously you watch a lot of tv and have a very active imagination which is a good thing, but there has to have been some point to this site. I have been wondering about the history of this site and who founded it myself. Speaking of human experiments did you see the alien zoo like episode of the original Star Trek? I think trolls exist everywhere and are just something we must learn to endure in life.

ALl I know is that I;ve been a member of mylot for almost 3 years now and my butt is constantly sore. Some may say it's because of me sitting at the computer for hours on end each day, but I reckon it's because they're not only monitoring us, they're probing our butts as well.

Perhaps we are, I know that I am perfectly independent minded, minded, minded, minded, minded... Annie. I don't think that we are an experiment except in money making. myLot exists to make its owners rich(ish). It's a bit of fun for the rest of us and that's why we get so mad when things go awry. Personally I don't mind at all. They see my drivel here, not the real me at home! [Funny. I hadn't noticed that camera there before. Up there, in the corner of the room!]

I can't remember the twilight song, lol, but the song that's going through my head is the x files. I didn't / don't watch Twilight Zone very much anyway. That is a good theory of yours though, about the trolls, but who knows really? Maybe it is, maybe it's a bunch of mylot creators doing this to get us to behave, or to bicker, lol, but either way, besides the trolls it's pretty fun here!

I've seen those shows!! What a fascinating thought. It could be, but I'm pretty sure it isn't. This isn't the only site to be attacked and turned upside down. I think we've got a bunch of newbie hackers out there trying to prove to each other that they're the best at what they do. Remember Hackers, the movie? That's my guess anyways.
