I've beet watching what I'm buying again lately. This has happened before & they quit when we all began to notice. A half gallon of ice cream in NO longer a half gallon. Toilet paper has soooo many different counts, I've lost count!!! A large box of cereal is almost a medium box of cereal. Candy bars are barely 2 bites anymore. Bags of chips are half bags of chips. Cans of veggies are no longer 16 ounces. They are now 15 ounces. All at the same time everything is staying the same price!! Even the colas have more than one size. A half liter may be 16.9 ounces or it may be 15.4 ounces with just a thicker bottom to the bottle. So have you noticed this beginning to happen even more frequently??? If so, what products have you noticed it the most???

I buy Low fat, hair ball control Science diet for my cats. It use to come in 20lb bags. It still comes in the same size bag but only has 17lbs of cat food in it. Now they have raised the price to $42 a bag. Wow!!!!!!!!! I cannot change cat food because my older cat Sammy has such a sensitive stomach when I change the cat food or give her anything out of the ordinary she gets diarrhea and/or vomiting. She was very ill a few weeks ago and I did not know how long we where going to have her around so I will continue to buy the expensive cat food as long as we have our beloved Sammy with us.

Yes, I see it on everything actually. It is thier way of raising prices and hoping we will not notice. How dumb do they think the average consumer is? Even those with just a HS diploma can read the packages. Do they think we shop with our eyes closed?

I have noticed the cereal boxes getting smaller, apple sauce is packaged in away you get less but it looks like the same amount. I am not sure if the manufacturers think we are stupid or what?? Why nopt just use the same size and raise the price. its the same either way. Guess they figure its better to pay a lower price even though we get less.

I've been noticing the obvious obesity of the population. I was in a buffet the other day, and a Fat Lady was laying back in her wheelchair, with a big plate of food balanced on her stomach, she was wheeling around the food counters piling the food up on her plate. She was eating more than enough for 2 for $6.95. The hamburgers are getting bigger at Wendys. They buy the meat in South America where its cheap, and a 1/2 lb. burger sells for $0.99. Is it any wonder America is obese? Willies BBQ in Alamo Texas,- Huge Stuffed Baked Potatoes, with smoked meat, shredded cheese, and sour cream. More than one person can eat for under $5.00.

Ya, that is what will happen from time to time due to inflation. Producers of consumer products are trying to transfer the cost to us, the fellow consumers. This is the tactic they use to cut cost which is by reducing the ingredient cost without increasing the product price. However, the product price are increased in the other way when their amount are decreased.

That old guy Andy Rooney did a rant awhile back on this and he was complaining his one pound can of coffee was down to 11 ounces.

I haven't noticed that Lady M - not yet at any rate! What I did notice was that here in the UK the fuel prices rocketed last year and teh prices of all our groceries hiked up because of that. Fuel prices dropped a lot again but grocery prices stayed same and in fact are still on the rise - Ijust cannot see how they can justify raising prices so much because delivery costs increased due to fuel costs yet when fuel costs fall prices still rise! xxxx
