I bpought a copuple Beefsteak tomatoes recedntly from the local grocery store. This is a shot of one I ate as a snack. I cut them into wedges and add a little salt and eat them this way. This was the juiciest tomato I've had since I had my own home grown ones last summer. They were $2.99 a pound but well worth that price. I can't wait to get my garden seeds etc started indoors soon. I love homegrown. When was the last time you bought a tomato that was so tasty you had to tell somoen abou it? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I live in New Jersey, the Garden State, and usually during the summer you can really get good tomatoes. This past summer I went with my husband to one of his appointments in South Jersey. On the way back, we stopped at a roadside produce stand. I bought some corn, and only one tomato, boy did I regret buying only one, that was the best tomato I had in a long long time. My landlord, also gave me a tomato someone had given him, and it was soooo good also. Tomatoes bought from the grocery store are not really good, and I do not buy them there. My father used to have a garden, but not anymore.

You'd love my home grtown tomatoes a lot as well. I only grow delicious juicy ones here in Minnesota. I usually have 5 or more variaties and maybe 10 or more total plants. Plus a ton of other veggies etc as well. I also have grapes, apples, and blackberries I grow as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My son bought one the other day but not sure where and it was so good, it tasted like homegrown but come from the store. Not sure who's snack sounds better, yours or mine. I had some cut up wedges of watermelon and it was so good.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Wow, that must have been so delicious! I do love tomatoes and I get them at our local grocer. I really don't know what type of tomatoes we have but what I know is that they are so juicy and the skin is thick which I really like. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

I don't care for tomatoes except in salsa and stuff. But I'll be growing a load of them this summer as my dad likes them and so do my neighbors! Did you save some seeds from that tomato so you can plant some?

Yes we saved some seeds. I love eating them right off the vine in the summer. I grow usually 5 or more varieties each year. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Unfortunately most of the time when we buy Tomatoes they are not the Best. I cannot believe the price they are charging for them right now as well. I know it would be nice to Grow some from a Garden but we would have to live in a place where we could do so. Nothing will beat a Fresh homegrown picked tomato.

I have not gotten a good tomato from the grocery store in a long time. When we have one of our local fruit stands opened they usually have tasty produce.

Hi, I too love tomatoes and they taste yummy with kust salt. Here in India we have the juciest variety of tomatoes literally being sold for a song. Just Rs 5 for a kilo, that is about 10 cents! I buy a large quantity and make juice at home with a dash of salt and sugar and believe me it is great tasting and so healthy and nutritious.

It must have been a mistake. Tomatoes are bread to ship well and withstand bruising and ripen slowly after picking. I do not think taste has any priority. Maybe it was one of those Frankentomatoes that have fish genes in them so they last forever.
