my mom does. i think she's kinda OC in a weird way 'cause even some of the sandwiches i bought? she's gonna take out the lettuce or cabbage or whatever leaf is there then wash it then put it back when she doesn't trust the look of the sandwich. and im like screaming, mom!!it's fresh!! ugh. guess they're moms. but those bagged salad kits, it sometimed depends, when it's not yet that prepared such as it's in an airtight plastic bag i wash it but if it's semi prepared sometimes i don't anymore

i also buy bagged salad all the time and i have always eaten it right out of the bag without washing it and i've never had any problem. but i know there are some people that don't trust anything or anyone so they have to wash it first. if you haven't had any problem i would continue what you have been doing.

My husband and I buy the bagged salad kits too, and we have never washed them. We figure that the people who process them have to make a quality and clean product, OR ELSE!

hi moonlitmagikchild, my dear friend, i love to eat salad a lot and i love to have if some one do it for me. i am too lazy to make it for myself alone. i am always on my hubby to make it for me. he chop all my favourite items for it and then i mix and add all what i wanna have in it. he dont like to h ave salads alot but then too i force something in it. if we both are too tired then we buy the bagged salad kit . but then too i make a point to wash them before eating it. i buy the ready to cook chopped veggies also and i always wash them. i also love to have lettuce onions, tomatoes i love cherry tomatoes a lot in my salad, carrot, and i love radish too. i love black olives and then i add a dash of black pwppwer and squeeze a lemon also in it. that is a thing that i love to have and i feel it very fulfilling.

I don't wash bagged salad, either. I had one for supper tonight, as a matter of fact. I just never thought it was necessary to wash it. I do just like you do. I open it up, add dressing, and sunflower seeds and I'm good to go. Of course, the bagged salad I buy usually has carrots, cabbage, cheese, and other things mixed in with it.

These days, with all of the salmonella that we've had on produce, I definitely wash the salad kits. Just put it in a collander under running cold water for a few minutes. You can't trust any food any more because the big companies just don't care. They know that the government won't shut them down if they sell contaminated food.

I always wash the salad in the bags that I buy from the store. You need to wash the salad you do not know who handled the salad or where the salad come from before it was bagged. I wash all my fruits and vegetables just in case any pesticides are left. Its for your benefit and health to wash the bagged salad.

I always wash it before I eat it. You really never know who handled it last and how it was handled. Also, you don't really know if it has been wshed as it says it has. I think it is better to wash it myself and know it has been done than to trust that it has been done in some dactory.

I wash it because I'm a scaredy cat. I wash everything I can. I even wipe the top of cans before I open them because of the dust and stuff. I just open the bag into a strainer, run the water over it and set it aside to dry a bit while I get the cheese shredded and the meat if I'm making a dinner salad. (a dinner salad means a salad for dinner not with. We put chicken and stuff on it.)

I still wash the packed salads. Although it is printed on the plastic that it is ready to eat, I just want to make sure. I put it in a strainer then pour cold water to wash it.

I never wash my bagged lettuce. It typically always says that it's been pre-washed, on the bag. I guess I trust them. lol It definitely wouldn't hurt for you to rinse it off.

I pour it in my strainer and rinse it well for a few minutes then shake the water out then place it in a bowl or my plate, I do this to make sure it's safe to eat. My husband isn't as particular as me when it comes to the salad kits and will eat it without rinsing it. He get's annoyed when I nag him to rinse it off when he makes salads because he say's it's already pre-washed and ready to eat..But I think if the salad kit has been in the fridge for more then a few day's it should be rinsed well before eaten... Just my 2 cents.

Vegetable salad - A healthy vegetable salad
I would prefer washing the salads before using them. Even if the package says prewashed we do not know whether they have really been washed and how nicely they have been washed. So why take chances. Better to be safe than sorry.

I do wash them myself, I open the bag and put it in a strainer and rinse it and let it sit while I put all the rest of dinner together, and then do the salad last as it has time to rinse pretty good it seems to make it fresher somehow... and looks more like I took time to prepare it...LOL
