Has this ever happened to one of your discussions?

A couple of days ago I received a new response to one of my discussions that was almost 3 years old. Now I suppose it has somehow been given new life as today I received another response to the same discussion. It must have been one of my first. Have you ever had this happen to you. How on earth did anyone find it?

Isn't that cool whiteheather! I have had old discussions I had forgotten about resurface before but none that old! Once it has been picked up by one person it gets brought back to the fore and could become very active again! Hugs hen xxxx

Kind of like it floats to the top. We breathe new oxygen into the old discussions and they more or less float to the top.

Hahaha! So pleased this happened to you too! Recently several users have been helping out others by responding on discussions with no responses no matter how olde they were. This brings them back to life even if they are very, very old and they appear in the column on the right 'similar discussions'. When other users see them there then they might go and respond too. In that list there are discussions, any discussion, that have been posted at any time at all and this is probably what made yours come back to life. It's fun and very rewarding to have older discussions get a new lease of life and I hope it will happen to some of your other ones too. Happy Lotting!

...but this discussion had responses so it was not listed under discussions with no responses. It was also not under my list of unresolved discussions as I had given a BR. That's was makes it so amazing to me.

If some of the tags were the same as a the tags in a recent discussion then it would appear in the list on the right --- then others would see it and respond. You can revive any of your old discussions yourself by adding a response or a comment and they will appear there too

These old discussions pop up under the "Similar discussions" list at the bottom of the pag sometimes. These are located by keyword and come up automatically.

Thanks that makes sense I had forgotten about that. Still it was a nice "blast from the past".

yes because when an old discussion is responded to, it jumps up to the top of the list of your discussions and when that happens other people see it so they respond to it. It has happened to me several times.

It was funny because as you say things have changed but I remembered the incident as if it happened yesterday and I would hsve emade the same remark even today.

I never imagined that a discussion as old as yours can get a response. Anyway not only you but many of us are also pleasantly surprised by this. As for me, I am not that old, only being here for about ten days. So I can't say, but I do get response of those thread that i started on the very first day of joining here.

When I respond to a discussion, I always wait till it appears on the thread. When you are on that page, to the right are groups of similar discussions. Now I've answered a few of those only to find that they are indeed years or months old, not current at all. I think it's great because a couple of mine have re-surfaced as well.

Yes, I have had that happen. I think it happens when someone answers a discussion, and they look at the bottom where mylot lists similar discussions. At least that is my own theory.

Yes, I have seen that happen. It has not happened to any of my discussions but I have seen it happen to other's discussions. I suppose the topic would come up as a similar discussion. It would be listed at the bottom of the page. I like to look at some of those discussions myself. They can be very interesting. It is nice to see topics I might have missed.

Oh yup--that's happened lots of times with me, and sometimes it's a discussion that at the time had a lot of fire and passion about, but re-reading it's like huh? So I have to get "into" that frame of mind again. The only thing that can explain this though is people might actually hunt our profiles to look at our old discussions..with me that's a LOT of pages..LOL

I know the feeling when a topic that you started from way back then comes to life specially if they don't have any responses at all. My first discussion was responded 6 months after I started it by 2 valuable friends. That made my day and I just feel so happy! Whenever I get bored here at Mylot and don't find any discussions that interest me, I go over my friends' profiles and search for discussions that interests me. Sometimes I use the search bar to search for topics that I like to respond to even if they were started years ago. I learn that no discussion is too old to respond to. You also earn from participating in them.
