I dreaded the day I'd turn 30

but now that it has come and gone nearly two years ago I can say that its really not that scary. The only concerns I have now is not accomplishing my goals within the time I had set or within some acceptable time. A cousin once told me that for her 30th birthday her younger sister bought her a card saying: CONGRATULATIONS... Your getting old. Did you or do you also dread turning the big three O? Have you acheived all or most of the goals you set out to acheive by age 30?

I am just turned 60, 30 was a piece of cake. At 30 I was married and had 2 children but back in school, graduate school at the point. Accomplishing everything by 30 is not realistic. We are always reinventing ourselves. Our goals can change over the course of our lives. I work and plan on it for a long time and still learn new things. You are only old if you give up on growing.

Seems you enjoyed that peace of cake Barbie. It is true that we have to keep on revaluating and resetting our goals. Age is definately not a deterent to achieving ones goals. Continue being young at heart. It is great medicine for the soul.

I understand the anxieties which you feel when you fail. I go through the same but have learnt to accept it and simply extend my plans and my efforts.

Been there. Done that. Long past it. If you did not achieve the goals you had set, keep working on them. Do not give up. Age has nothing to do with getting things done. Do not let your age hold you back. Yes, you are getting older. But you are also getting wiser.

Hey, I'm going to embrace the day I turn 30. After all, they say 30's is the new 20's. We actually start living life they way we want to cause we can take things seriously and are taken seriously by society. Most people's success come around this age because the foundation is already built and its just the matter of proceeding from there on. By this age you've already experienced work-life, relationships, down-falls, love; almost all the things that make the world go round. Its only a matter of perfecting the skills we experienced. Never fear when the big 'three O' is near!

Hey... i had to take a second look at your username. Nearly fooled me. The 30s is certainly the time for taking life seriously. I used to just think 30yr olds were old and could only go down hill from there but being here now I think differently. Never fear when the big 'three O' is near! All the best when you get there tjdas.
