I learnt this morning that Jade Goody passed away after battling cervical cancer.Ever since she was told about the life threatening disease that she had contracted Jade`s life slowly started dwindling. Her rise to fame internationally came in the British reality show Big Brother when she was evicted from it after passing derogatory remarks and abusing the Indian participant Shilpa Shetty who was eventually declared the winner. Shetty eventually forgave Jade and the two became friends. Jade also participated in the Indian version Bigg Boss at the invitation of Shilpa who was its anchor.Jade lasted just a week and a half and had to leave the show suddenly when she was informed by her doctors that the cancer had taken a turn for the worse. She rushed to London for treatment but things became worse as the disease spread rapidly. Knowing that her final days were near Jade got married to Jack Tweed in her house.Her last days were poignant as she " died a thousand deaths " every moment as life slowly and surely ebbed away. She had her two young children brought to her bedside and she said her final goodbye to them last week. Her condition worsened rapidly and she was not expected to live beyond last Monday but the end came finally on 22nd Sunday. It is a tragic story of a young woman who got her moment of fame for all the wrong reasons and had to face her own death day by day.At the very young age of 27 she leaves behind two small boys who will be deprived of the loving care and warmth of a mother. My heart goes out to these little kids who are probably not aware of their great loss being too young to understand. My only hope and prayer is that they will get at least some love and care from their father and whoever else who takes care of them. May your soul rest in everlasting peace, Jade.
