I got my hair cut about three weeks ago by my friend of mine that is a hairdresser. She didn't "understand" what I was explaining to her about the style I wanted and she did the total opposite of what I said. I not only got a bad haircut I paid to get it! I told her I wasn't happy and her solution was that she would take me to her sister to fix it. AH...NO thanks.. I didn't tell her that I just made an appointment with another hairdresser for next Friday to pay her to fix the mistake. Now this past Thursday I went and got a full set of acrylic nails. Now mind you today is Sunday...Just three days into my set of nails. I already see flaws. The girl didn't push or get rid of the cuticles so now they look like they are about 10 days old because I pushed the cuticles back myself today and can see where they look like they already grew out. Which can not be possible in three days. My question is would you call the nail salon and tell them if you are not happy with their work? Would you demand a redo like I am thinking? Or would you just go somewhere else and hope for better? I am afraid if I call and tell them I'm not happy they may make my nails worse. I paid thirty five dollars for the set of nails. (More than I paid for my bad haircut. UGH) Maybe I should take this as a sign? (GO natural?) UGH tho! LOL! All advice is high;y appreciated here!

That sounds alot like the luck I have with my hair. No one ever cuts my hair right. I have never had my nails done before but I bet no one would do those right either. I wish I had advice but I sure don't know either.

LOL! Steph! A lil bit of advice...Don't go get your nails done! I don't know what even possessed me to pay that much money to get my nails done anyway....when I use to "need" nails I bought the press ones at the dollar store and they worked just fine...just to look pretty (back when)lol! I swear I won't do it again. At least not in my next 30 years. LOL! I can't even type with these things on. I need to keep backspacing to correct5 my mistakes! Not to mention these new nails I have will be broken off with in 4 days with the work I do. My work is hard physically. BLAH!!!

I would call them and have them redo your nails, you paid good money for them, and most places want satisfied customers. Sorry to hear about your hair , thats a bummer. Hope you make out ok with your hair.

I haven't had my hair done professionally in years. And I have never had my nails done. I purposely stay away from those places because I have long hair and they always want to chop it off. People think just because they prefer short hair we all should. I personally like my long hair and will live with it until I am ready for it to be gone. Sorry can't give much advice. But I would probably call the salon.

I am switching hairdressers for my next haircut at the end of this week. The one I was going to it a small town hairdresser who can only cut super short hair like the hair most 70 year olds wear. I am 19 and prefer a certain style and we have a new hair place in town that is supposed to be better. As far as your nails go, I would definitely call them, maybe the employee that did yours needs more training or something and they need to know that.

Honestly I have been in this very same situation myself. I now bleach my own hair. It turns out almost as good as the salons do and it is a fraction of the cost. I get my hair cut about twice a year and trim the bangs myself in between the haircuts. Also, I used to get acrylic nails put on but stopped a few years ago. I have actually been thinking of getting my nails done again. As far as your nail situation is concerned if I were you I would just not go back to this salon and just wait until they really need to be re-filled. Then I would go to a new salon and see how they do. And I would make a point of telling all of my friends about this salon so that they could avoid the same disaster. Good luck in your search for your new nail salon. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

For me, i always choose the best salon in our place to do my haircut and nails. If i am not happy with the outcome, i go to the another salon to fix it coz they might make it worsier for me.

I don't go to hairdressers anymore because for me they have always made a mess of my hair, I actually went to a hairdressers once to have a trial style done for when I was going to be a bridesmaide...it looked awful, nothing like what I asked for, infact one of her staff whispered to me that my hair looked better the way i had it when I came in...these days I just wear my hair long and so everything myself..and that is cut, colour and style.....

Aww Sweetheart I'm so sorry you are unhappy hug hug It is hard to get past some things but I would try to do just that...And for the love of God don't go back to them again! I haven't had my hair or nails done in years. I usually cut my own when it needs a trim but it is very long so I can roll it up on the back of my head or let it hand down. As for my nails... I'm always doing gardening or wood carving or other crafts that are not condusive to long nails. Good luck with the next try. xoxoxoxoxo

It is very hard for me to get a bald haircut because all I ever want is a semi-bald cut where they use these mechanical cutters to shear off hair. cheers!!!

I think that having a bad day at the hairdressers is not that unusual. I like to get my haircut about once a month, but sometimes there are extenuating circumstances and I just need to wait awhile before I get my hair cut. It is something that I am always aware of and always conscious of.

Hi, I can relate to the bad haircut. I have very long hair & a few years back went to my mum's local hairdressers, I just wanted a trim, layers and feathers cut in the fronts to give it some shape as it was all the same length. I ended up with big chunks missing out of my hair, uneven front & had to go to the next town to find a no appointment salon to pay them to fix it and my hair ended up being 10 inches shorter than it started that day!!! I only have it cut once every six months now, generally when the ends start to spilt. I also used to get my nails done all the time but when I changed jobs 7 years ago I stopped as I was always snapping them & that was painful!! But my friend who was a novice at the time was doing them & she just had a natural flare for it & they were always good. I don't know if I'd bother with the nail salon, I think I'd just find somewhere new to have my nails done. Whats done is done & they are not going to refund you. The problem they have is that you will never recommend regardless of what they do or don't do. You can only learn from the bad choices and avoid making them again, get yourself pampered and enjoy x

I never get the result I want with my hair ever! That is why as much as possible I shun away from hairdressers. I have been thinking actually if there really is something wrong with me and my hair. I have yet to find a hairdresser who will give me the value of what I paid for.

Just dont call the salon anyway. Its a bit of experience. Never submit any to their services rather find a new one which would satisfy your demand...Ask also some suggestions from friends and collegues...
