Hello Friends I just found this site where you can get old pics fixed. I have tons of old shots that have yellowed and some went through a fire and are blackened..I am going to have some of them fixed. http://www.scancafe.com/pages/h/ph2.php?cid=HYDRHUC006L006&pubid=198 This is not an affiliate link and I haven't used it yet. What do you think of this? xoxoxoxoxoxo

Did you ever decide on a photo scanning service? I found this site called www.briteroots.com to do my photos. They are relatively new, but affordable. Only 10 cents per photo. I got a DVD with my images and they archive all my photos online for free. Just a thought.

Dear Raydene, Restoration and Conservation of old photographs is a very specialized field. There are trained professionals available for this. Ofcourse it depends on the interest of you for preserving the original material, or having a generated copy of it through digital technology i.e restoration/reproduction of a new image. The value of the old original image which carries will not get by the digitally generated image. There are plenty of agencys carrying out this job. An original is an original and get oldest photos/negatives presereved physically. This is only my suggestion, ofcourse rest is left to you.

how much do they charge to fix them because every where i went they cost $30-$50 to fix a old photo so i would check into seeing how much they charge you for fixing the photo before you send it to them so you are not stuck with a big bill at the end.

That sounds like a very useful facility my friend. I have some old photos which have faded, as you say, like they did in the days before digital cameras. I'll have to see if I can sort something out, when I get back onto my desktop. Brightest Blessings and thank you for sharing. xx

Hi Raydene, that is really cool, it is amazing how they can do that especially on the age of the photo and also without discolouring it or even harming the photo..totally amazing...hugs littleowl

I do quite a bit of this sort of work for people; without specialised equipment, it is can be time consuming if you have a lot of photos to deal with... this looks like a professional and relatively inexpensive approach, but don't forget to allow for the handling fee on top of the scan-per-image charge, and remember, they do not print the results; you will have to print at home or send the CD to a shop to have any prints made. If you have only a few photos and a flat bed scanner, it may be more convenient to do this yourself; it is a relatively simple task in PaintShopPro, PhotoShop and similar programs.
