My best Motto for friendship

I consider myself as one friendly person and yes I have a lot of friends and also people I consider acquaintances. However, I honestly would say I only have very few people I really consider best and real friends; they are those who sticked w/ me through thick and thin and never leave me no matter what. Maybe I have 3 or 4 and I have these friends for more or less a score. For me a friend is somebody who don't compete but supports you and is happy w/ your achievements rather than being jealous. One that never puts you down but accept you as you are. My best motto in friendship is DON'T WALK AHEAD OF ME, I MAY NOT FOLLOW YOU NOR WALK BEHIND ME I MAY NOT LEAD YOU, BUT WALK BESIDE ME AND JUST BE MY FRIEND. I like this very much because this denotes equality and freedom; true friends are not controling. What about yours?

My best motto for friendship is " A friend is selfless" Selflessness is what counts. It is the only criterion of true friendship, I believe.

Friendship is an in-depth relationship. Friendship is comfortable and relaxed. Friendship requires meeting the needs of both friends.Building friendships takes time. Friendships require self-disclosure so any friendship has risks, Talking and listening builds friendships. Friendships require equality and loyalty from friends"A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him I may think aloud."- Ralph Waldo Emerson .

I don't have a motto on friendship. I am less strict with who I consider as friends - I think it depends on how long I've known them and how much time I've spent with them. I think that time nourishes friendship and that I couldn't really be friends with people I've only known for a short time or who I don't really spend time with. That's why, I think, I think highly of my high school friends because we've been together for a very long time when we were in school :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

for mine, i don't have a motto for friendship. as long as i have my friends that always there for me and when they need me iam also there for them. that's the reason why i do not need a motto for friendship.

i agree with you on this point. It's not about being the better friend it's about being the friend who is there when you need them. kinda like being there with out u even having to ask they jus sorta end up at ur side no questions asked.

AS I get older I think I have to say I do not have many friends, for the plain fact I am tired of hearing them complain about everything! I am a person that is fine with life, I am mostly a happy person and I do not like it when other people try to bring me down with them. If you try to help a person out they come back and expect you to save them all the time. Friends should be happy for each other and not be jealous of either one.
