With the dooms day talk, the new president, the recession, and now the swine flu are you getting alittle paranoid. Is it worse now than you can remember?

I personally do not pay much attention to all these doomsday talks from those cult leaders, except worry that they n their members may carry out some sorts of 'copycat' attacks to create the scenes of their talks as a testimonial to the 'sane' population the fulfillment of their so called 'prophecy'. There are handful of cult groups here can be quite worrisome sometimes.

It is bad for me n my country if these apocalyptic cults manage to join forces with foreign terrorist groups or racist groups. Then you will see what kind of 'wonder' these freaks can create.

I sure am worried mostly for my kids but a little for me. my 2 youngest are in worst shape. my daughter just got a job again and not making enough to cover rent half the time. my youngest just lost his job 3 weeks ago and has 2 babies to feed. which puts a tax on my finances. i've never seen it this bad but have read some and heard some about the depression and other times when it was supposedly this bad. but never saw it before.

Times are tough and that when you depend on family and friends. Growing your own food could help. Learning knew ways to makes things last. Planning meals more. I don't and I think I should. I haven't seen it this bad for many years. But it could be worse if there wasn't family to help out alittle.

I agree that things seem to be getting a little scary but I did look at what some of the other mylotters here said and I agree with a lot of them as well. I am not scared a whole lot because I know I am saved and I also believe that Jesus will keep me safe and my loved ones safe as well. I think praying can help but to worry only causes more problems and we must spread the good news no matter what! Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

People have been talking doomsday since the beginning of time. We all have the power to choose what we deem important in our lives. We can choose to see doom and gloom OR we can choose to see the best in people and things. Life is about learning and growing as people. When times are good, we just sit back and enjoy the ride. When adversity hits, we have to think, plan, study, analyze and grow in so many ways along the journey. Is there adversity and change? Sure! Look at past history then see now. THINGS ARE GETTING BETTER ALL THE TIME!!!!!Learning and knowledge solves ALL problems.

I am not getting paranoid I dont think, but I am worried. Every thing is so much worse than I ever remember from before. I am 35 and have two boys. I worry abought them alot. Not just with the things you mentioned but with the way every day life is now. normal values seem to have become lost over the last 5 to 10 years. It seems like most people dont value life, or family's or anything I grew up thinking were some of the most important things. There are shootings in schools, Horrible illneses, drive by's, perposful food poisonings, etc. I am not a tearible religouse person, I believ in god but am not a regular church goer. But it seems to me maybe we should go back to being a more religouse society. Many people dont even know or care what there kids are doing anymore. I think we are definatly headed for something bad. I dont know if it is the end times, or we have just become insane as a society. But I thing we are definatly on the downward path to something bad!

Ya, paranoid is just silly but alittle caution goes a long way. Especially when you have young children or old folks in the family. I think we need to go back to the basics. Like have grandparents in the home again.

Times do seem worse than I ever remember but I'm not feeling paranoid about it. Worrying won't help or change a thing. The most that I can do is try to keep my little corner positive and peaceful and hopefully spread some of it to those that I come into contact with.

No, I am not worrying more about our President as he is doing a fine job. He's got a huge full plate to go through. He, and his staff, will not be able to fix everything in a short time. It took time to get bad, it'll take time to fix. No, I am not worrying more about the Swine Flu. For the most part, it is being contained. Those infected are being isolated as soon as they are found out. So, the rate of infectious spreading is a minuscule of a fraction of what it could have been. If it does get worse, then naturally I'll start taking necessary precautions. However, I live in a small rural community, where people hardly travel out of or into. And no, I am not worrying more about the recession. While some sectors are getting a bit worse, other sectors are slowing getting better. Another words, various sectors are evolving. This happens with each recession (and stock market crash) in our nation's history. One just needs to be adaptable as the situation warrants. If one takes precautions, plans ahead, and keeps their head on straight and makes logical and reasonable decisions, then one should pull through all of this just fine.

Hey celtic! Well, it sure isn't helping matters at all! I get very discouraged when I here all this really negative talk that's for sure! I have enough problems right now and this is not the stuff that I need to hear that's for sure! I am going through enough of my own stuff right now trying to figure out how I am going to make ends meet and all this recession talk doesn't make me feel any better! And I have seen things be bad before, but my situation right now is in itself worse than it ever has been and I am in a completely different position then I ever was before. I am going to have to do things alot different to find an answer to my financia; problems this time and it will be nothing less than a miracle this time!

I am a bit nervous about this swine flu. Moreso than anything before. It may be because of all the things going on at once. I'm not paranoid but I am very concerned.

I wasn't terribly concerned until I heard today on the news that an older woman coming home from Texas was stricken by this flu and she lives here in Idaho. Ugh! Seems she will be alright. Thank goodness. I didn't expect it here.

HI celticeagle, though this topic is less relevant to our context still could not help responding. Everything happens for a reason be the reason a genuine one or a fake one. And the saying that everyday does not go the same way, why not take it rather in a positive note that these were supposed to happen and people are there more worried trying to mend the things for the betterment of the citizens. Can not we have some solace like this and do our own parts?

Celtic- Not really. I don't really see any of it being "worse" or somehow magically better than the past. It is what it is, the now. I do get tired though of all the dooms day talk, the ganging up on the new President, and the Swine Flu talk is getting over-rated. I mean, I can understand being frugal, showing some caution, but people should be living instead of sitting around griping about how horrible their life is. Someone always has it worse, you know. I mean, I was just speaking with another about when there was a rice shortage in Africa and how all of America seemed to go crazy and started stock piling rice. I mean, why on earth for? We had plenty, but not one American said "I'm sending this to Africa to help out". I just have to shake my head on some days. I think now is the time to simply live, help your neighbor, and try to be a better person. I think it's about "doing" and not just "talking". Does that make sense? Namaste-Anora

I am glad to hear it! Yes, setting and griping does no one any good. I agree with the someone always has it worse statement. Yes, that makes sense. What does the 'Anora' mean? Curious.

Are you worrying............. No, I'm not worrying about any of the above. I read in my bible that b4 the end shall come, all of these things must come to pass. So I'm not to think strangely about it when I see that it's happening. It should give us the opportunity to pray and to try to get closer to God, that's all..... Thanks for posting.

Truth is end of days I coming, that is just a fact and no stopping it. But none of us know exactly when. I am not worried, my belief in God I know that when it all starts to happen those who believe we will be safe.
