Yes, I have. I've put the waving goodbye smiley up by mistake for the lol one. My friend asked me if I was going, but I had quickly put up an "Oooooooops wrong smiley" and corrected it. lol. Brightest Blessings.

That's never happened to me with the Mylot code, but I have made some totally outrageous typos, that I have not noticed until the damn things have been posted. LOL The problem here is that I can't just to back and edit my content like I can on other sites. It would be nice if I could, though.

That is why I am always very careful before hitting on one of those smilies.

I hope not Bala, for if i'm able to recall one, then i know i'm going to feel pretty stupid and embarassed about it. Now since you have put the idea in my head, it seems i have to go through each and every one of them.

I have never really paid much attention to those. I am sure some of them were wrongly chosen though.

Reason enough for wrongly choosing not paying much attention.

I'm not sure but I would be willing to bet that I have. I tend to add a smiley to the end of most of my responses as habit. It is kind of my signature even in real life. My girls tell me that I don't have to sign my notes or cards to them...they would recognize my smiley and know it was me. I hope I haven't but I imagine that I have.

As for mylot I only know a few smileys. I tend to use these two the most. But as for using like symbols the one i found that is funny is this one (.)(.) See if you can guess what it means. I thought it was kinda of funny when I saw it for the first time. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

To be honest I don't use the smilie emoticons, probably because I don't know how to use them and to be honest haven't been interested in using them, I always do the typed ones i.e ;0) :0***( :P etc but even then it's rare to use those, I do have a tendency to overly use exclamation marks, so I guess I use !!!! more than smilies in my discussions. I think you can get away with using them by accident with good friends it's strangers that may misconstrue your original intention and take it the wrong way!

Hi balasri, for the sake to answer this topic, I try to think hard hoping that I could recall one, so that there is some fun to share my experience with you here. But.....don’t know whether I’m glad or sad.....to say that I haven’t made any mistake in using the emotional smiley in any of my discussions here so far. I could imagine how embarrassed I would be, if I add a to show that you have done something excellently Please inform me in case you see one in my discussions later. Thank you!

I have. Not on Mylot but on a friends message board. I posted a vent on her board and put a laughing smilie in. LOL I am sure everyone was wondering why I would put in a laughing smilie when I was really angry. I wound up having to write another post explaining the error. My guess is they already knew it was a mistake but I felt I had to clear that up LOL.

LOL...yes I have mistakenly put thisin one of my comments to a friend's response and he came back charging at me demanding for an explanation. Were I not shocked myself? You can imagine the topic was about friendship and he was as shocked as I was. Sometimes too much mylotting blurs the eyesight.

Hey balasri! I know that I have! I can't think of a time in particular, but I do know for sure that I have used one of those emoticons in the wrong place, at the wrong time and I sure felt embarrassed and stupid!
